Looking for the perfect complement to a juicy ribeye steak, grilled kabobs or even some desserts? Look no further than Cabernet Sauvignon, the “red of all reds” worldwide. Sommelier Sara Fasolino guides you with practical tips for buying and enjoying Cabernet Sauvignon, whether you’re spending $7 or $75. “Cabernet Sauvignon: Beginners Guide to Wine” will shed light on the characteristics of this versatile wine, what contributes to its wide range of flavors, and the best foods to match with it.
I don't always drink wine, but when I do... kidding. Really, though, my wife is the wine drinker in my family, but I was consistently compelled by this book. It isn't snobbish winespeak -- you learn about the grape, where it comes from and cool bits of info you won't hear from wine snobs. This almost feels like a travel guide, but about a wine/grape. Best part is, my wife likes a BIG wine -- and now I know what a "big wine" is, how to shop for it, how to drink it, how to understand its flavor profile, and how to impress my wife by making a smart buy on a good wine. A quick, fun read even if I'm not drinking. Would like to read more from this author in this series.
Sara Fasolino has such a breezy style and she makes me want to learn more about wine. Though I love wine, I do not consider myself a connoisseur by any measure and I am learning so much from this series. The book is short, easy to digest and full of information from how to decipher a label to what foods go best with the tannins and flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon. (You'll even learn what tannin is, if you don't know.) A great book for someone who is curious wine and wants to educate himself or herself a bit more.
For someone relatively new to the world of wine, this book is an awesome resource. It breaks down everything you need to know about Cabernet Sauvignon in a quick and easily understandable way. The fact that it's an eBook is great too, since you can call it up whenever you need to answer a Cab-related question, no matter where you are.
I'm finally starting to understand wine! I just put "wine corkscrew" on my to do list. I want to run to the store and try to taste the differences between the different Cabernets. This book is a really great intro to Cabernet Sauvignon. I've always kept my distance from wine because there's so much to learn. But now I'm going to dive in.
As someone who knows a little bit about wine, but not too much, I thought this eBook was really helpful. Full of practical tips, it provided just the right amount of information. Wine can seem so complex, but I never felt overwhelmed. I can't wait to read the next books in this series!
My whole family is made up of wine drinkers and I never really know what they are talking about. Reading through an eBook like this definitely helped me feel a little more up to speed during family get togethers.
