Rate this book
It isn’t easy being the sheriff’s daughter. When Laura Tyler is pulled over for speeding for the third time in as many months, her father gives her an ultimatum: join the station’s explorers’ club, or lose her car for the summer. She just can’t be without her car, and joins the club, despite the fact that she has zero interest in law enforcement. She does, however, develop an interest in fellow Explorer Scout, Dare, who it happens was her arresting … adolescent.

Rosemarie Naramore's fondest desire has always been to write fiction. She was delighted when her first romance novel, "Just in Time," was published by Avalon Books. She went on to write three other lighthearted romances for Avalon--"Armed and Disarming," "The Detour," and "Lacey's Homecoming," as well as a mystery entitled "The Listing Agent." When Amazon acquired Avalon in 2012, her second mystery/police procedural, "Deputy Down," was published under the Thomas & Mercer imprint. She is pleased that her romance novels have been released by Amazon under their Montlake imprint.

This was a cute story. There wasn't much to it, but for such a quick read it was pretty good. I liked how Laura was made to take responsibility for her reckless ways, and didn't get away with it just because her dad's the sheriff. I thought the romantic part was a little rushy, but it was still cute. Jennifer was a good friend to Laura and I liked seeing her meet a nice guy. All in all, a good read.

My Review: This was a emotion and drama filled book. After reading so many adult romances it was kind of refreshing to have the innocence of a Young Adult romance. It was interesting to watch Laura mature with a little support and guidance from Dare. I loved reading about her mending relationship with her father. Of course you can't have a teen romance without the drama of the 'other girl' and the jealousy that comes with her. A great book about facing your fears, letting go of grief and taking responsibility. It was a sweet little romance wrapped in an interesting tale.

Book Review- Dare to Love by Rosemarie Naramore

Laura is pulled over again for speeding. This makes three times in three months. She is humiliated when the deputy arrests her. Her father, the sheriff, is furious and the cutest boy, Dare, gets to watch and be a part of her downfall.
As punishment she is encouraged to join the Explorers group. Laura has to face her classmates and Dare during the meetings. She is embarrassed and hurt that everyone thinks she is reckless on purpose. She also has feelings for Dare but is unsure of herself and him. Her nemesis Courtney is determined to keep Laura from Dare.
This YA story was interesting. The insecurities of a teenage girl seemed to be the theme. I liked the idea behind the story with the hidden issues from death of two parents. It would have been a deeper story if the author would have explored that avenue a bit.
Instead I thought Laura was annoying and the writing a bit choppy in places. The story had so much potential I wish the author would have did more. I give it a 2.5 out of 5.
