Mee Thinks: Random Thoughts on Life's Wrinkles

Rate this book
"Lots of times when people ask me about my hobbies or interests, I'll include 'thinking,'" writes Mary Ellen Edmunds, known affectionately to her friends by her initials, "MEE." MEE Thinks is a delightful journey through many of these musings. In it, Mary Ellen shares her thoughts on topics from balance to the Big Bad Wolf, inviting readers to think for themselves about materialism and spontaneity and miracles and keeping promises and a host of other ideas. "I hope something I share will spark and idea in you and give you a good thinking experience," the author says. "Enjoy the Ride!"

I have seen Mary Ellen Edmunds name linked to things like Time Out for Women and Women's Conference but have never read or listened to her before reading this book, which is a compilation of some of her most popular talks. After reading this, I want to see/hear more!

Mary Ellen Edmunds, or MEE, as she calls herself, is delightful. Full of wisdom, humor, insight and inspiration, it is impossible not to enjoy her perspective. Go on, I dare you! I received this book as a gift and read a chapter here and there as I felt like it. It was very enjoyable and uplifting. A great gift for any one, but especially for those special women in your life.

Short little chapterettes (her word) that sometimes make you laugh but more often make you think. Planting ice cubes to try to grow glaciers as a way to help with global warming: lol! But thinking of others who might need just a little boost, teaching so that the student can go on beyond what you have taught them. Deep thought. Most of the topics are very short with the longest being about 6 pages. Glad I read this book again.

I just love MEE! I have since I first read her book, Love is a Verb, at my Aunt Sue's in CA, back in @1998. I heard her at Women's Conference and when she spoke in our Know Your Religion series here in the valley. I try to read everything I can and confess I am addicted to her positive outlook and humor. This particular book was fun to pick up when I had just a few minutes at a time and ponder one subject for a while.

Took only two days reading this and found it to be WONDERFUL! I laughed out loud and really enjoyed thinking along with Mary Ellen Edmunds. (Note: Got to hear her speak at a Time-Out for Women last year. Seeing her in person, getting a feel for who she really is made all the difference when reading her books.)

I grabbed this book to read on our recent road trip. I like the short snipets that make up each chapter. Mary Ellen Edmunds has a way of teaching in a refreshing, enlightening way, gospel principles. Some chapters were more captivating than others, but overall this was an enjoyable, inspiring quick read.

I received this book as a gift, and was very surprised at how pleasant it is to read. Mary Ellen Edmunds is author, and I've had the chance to meet her on a couple occassions. She is the real deal. Her talks and lectures are much the way she writes. I like the many different aspects of life she chose to "think" about.

I love sister edmunds she really makes me laugh. She did the inbetween semesters devotional at BYU-I today and I decided I had to read her book. Funny that I have never found this one before. A lady recommended it at book club last month. It gave me a lot to think about. It was also a really quick read.

A self help type book. Religious orientation with a heavy LDS information. It offers insights from the authors thoughts. The goal is to help us better ourselves and be better persons. I thought it was worthwhile as a read. If your LDS and need some uplifting her is a good book. It is a short read.

This was another fun book by MEE. I love her light-hearted, humorous style. Each chapter has thoughts about a different topic and shares a short thought about how to become a better person, think positively, and have more contentment in life.

I'm a fan of Mary Ellen Edmunds, but found this book to be a little too random. Some of it was really thought provoking, but the rest of it was just a little odd... I think she missed the mark on this one.

I loved this quick and positive little book. I have heard the author, Mary Ellen Edmunds speak and she can be quite humorous one minute and totally inspirational and thought provoking the next. This fun book was the same way. It has very short chapters which were perfect for bedtime reading.

I really enjoyed this! Some of the chapterettes were thoughtful and had very interesting messages. Others were just light-hearted and silly. A great combination. None of the topics too heavy or chapters too long.

Cute. MEE is entertaining and obviously a fun person to know! Some of her "thoughts," though, were a little random and not particularly provocative or clever.

Some of the things she thinks about are silly while others get you to kind of think about it too. Someday maybe I'll sit down and write about what I've been thinking about....
