Out of all the Sisters of Spirit books I've read (this was #4), this one was THE MOST AGGRAVATING book EVER. My God. I wanted to smack the crap out of Mary so many times it wasn't funny. She's strong, she's weak, she wants to live yet she doesn't want to defend herself or put the bad guys in jeopardy. Oh. My. Lord.
This book took me FOREVER to read. I wanted to know what the ending was, but I was really sick of Mary's crap. I can usually read one of these books in 2 or 3 days, depending on if I like it or not. This book took me THREE WEEKS.
I finally got to the ending, which made it better, but I will NEVER read this book again, nor do I think I want to continue with the rest of the books in this series. Truly. There's more, but if the heroines are as aggravating in those books as they were in this one, forget it.
Action filled and full of suspense. I enjoyed reading along as Mary and Connor get closer as captives although there are a few times I would have liked to smack Mary up side the head!
I mean I could kinda understand her hesitance to take him at face value in the beginning but after they were captive and had several chances to maybe get away she wouldn't because she was afraid one of her capters may get hurt since they weren't as trained for the trails as she was! I'm thinking to myself are you NUTS?
Courage Dares to escape a tragic past into the arms of a Soul Mate! Wow! This book was an adrenalin pumping suspenseful romantic adventure! A heroine who is trying to overcome a tragic past, a hero who is trying to rescue her from current danger, mountain climbing with a group of thugs during avalanche season and you have all the ingredients for a beautiful romantic adventure! Nancy Radke's romances are beautifully sweet and clean that draws you into love's awakening to see love blossom as it develops! I love this series and can't get enough!!
After about 3 pages I was setting on the edge of my seat. Wondering if they would ever get away from the people Connor came to warn her about. Mary was still haunted by things that happened when she was 6. He had to prepare her for what was to come. Her strength was in search and rescue. if they could keep them heading for the cabin by the longest route possible maybe someone will rescue them. Excellent story couldn't put it down. Went looking for more of her books.
They got off to a rocky start but the story was well developed, the characters were believable and the action just didn't stop. I liked the ending. It was encouraging.
First story I read written by this author. The story itself was interesting though I felt Mary was not really believable at times. This character would flop back and forth as a strong and courageous woman to being weak and childlike. I had a hard time getting into her character. Connor was interesting to read about and kept the story interesting for me. I must admit that at times the story bored me and I skipped over huge sections of it until I found something new that caught my interest. The ending was sudden and lame. I was hoping for something meatier.
The story was ok. Did not care for the heroine, thought she was weak and not courageous at all. Boring in parts, skimmed over chunks of it to get to more interesting parts.
The best of this series so far. Although, I do agree that Mary was annoying at times. However, I liked that she was the most knowledgeable of all of them in the particular setting they were in. Once again, I have a hard time with the way Ms. Radke writes an ending. I suppose this is because I would like to see all strands brought together and wrapped up. This particular book was better at this than the previous three; however, I would be more satisfied if we would just once see a wedding, some kids, and an ending that was just more satisfying. When I read a book I feel like I know the characters, and I want to know what happens with their lives further down the road. I suppose I could just use my imagination and write my own ending...hmmm, that might work, but I'm afraid everything would have a happy ending, since I am the ultimate optimist!
