This is a pen name for Jill Myles.

Jill Myles has been an incurable romantic since childhood. She reads all the 'naughty parts' of books first, looks for a dirty joke in just about everything, and thinks to this day that the Little House on the Prairie books should have been steamier.

After devouring hundreds of paperback romances, mythology books, and archaeological tomes, she decided to write a few books of her own - stories with a wild adventure, sharp banter, and lots of super-sexy situations. She prefers her heroes alpha and half-dressed, her heroines witty, and she loves nothing more than watching them overcome adversity to fall into bed together.

I liked The Billionaire of Bluebonnet. I would have liked to learn more about Travis and Risa’s relationship, but it was a novella.

Overview

Risa’s luck was running out…

Risa Moore is content with her work as a live-in assistant to an elderly lady—until her boss passes on. Now, she’s stuck in the tiny town of Bluebonnet, Texas, with no job, nowhere to live, and no prospects. Leaving Bluebonnet means starting her life over from scratch, so when Risa gets the opportunity of a lifetime, it’s hard to turn it down. But does her sexy new boss want something more than just an employee?

Until she met a man worth his weight in gold.

Young, hot, and fabulously wealthy, Travis Jesson has no intention of ever returning to his small Texas hometown. Then his grandmother passes away, leaving him her estate and her pet. His plans involve disposing of her things as expediently as possible…until he meets her gorgeous live-in help. And Travis finds himself proposing an entirely different sort of relationship…

My Thoughts

This series is definitely giving me something to hold my attention while there's nothing on TV and no stores are open. (Gotta love when it's Christmas and you don't celebrate it). Anyhow, in this novella, we get to have a story supported by characters that are not part of those that we've met before, we haven't heard of either and the only link to the main bits of the series are through the salon that Beth Ann owns.

It's a quick story nonetheless but a sweet one where we see Travis trying to come to terms with the death of his grandmother and trying to sort out her last and final wishes while trying to get back to his life in Houston. of course when the door to her house is opened by a sexy and delicious looking woman, plans change.

As we've seen in the series for the other installments, there's really no delay in getting down to business with our couples - the chemistry that they have is something the ignites quickly and it's really sweet to see how our alpha males, how the controlling and dominant men are able to make these women putty in their hands. Risa really had no choice.

So after a steamy night in Bluebonnet, Risa finds herself going with Travis back to Houston to help him acclimate to the pig that was left to him, and it's worked out well for her as she doesn't have a job or a home and he's offered her an excessive amount of money for the two weeks that he's got before a trip.

where this story goes off the rails a bit is that it's clear that there's an attraction, but the intention in my head was never for this to turn into a relationship yet it jumps the shark a bit quite quickly to a place where Risa is making demands on him and his time in the form of a relationship. All that taken into account though, at least we get a quick resolution to all that and an ending that fits the novella. Can't wait to see what's next in this series.

Read It, Track It is a way for me to track books for my reading challenges and they will be super short.

A small town version of Pretty Woman but instead of the heroine being a hooker, she's an out of work teacher. And the small town guy turned billionaire is not paying for her bedroom services but her abilities as a pig nanny. That's right, I said pig. THE BILLIONAIRE OF BLUEBONNET was a fast and sexy side story set in the Bluebonnet series by Jessica Clare.

It was lovely! Risa is a great character and I loved how she dealt with the things she didn't like, no drama or stupid ultimatums, she just explained what she wanted or thought and then he let Travis think on it. Travis was a little slow on catching on, but I loved how he didn't repeat his mistakes or that he didn't dismiss her ideas.

My favorite character though was the pig, Gregory. I swear this was the funniest pet ever! He was just so cute and smart and he managed to sucker people in doing what he wanted, perfect! :))

Jessica Clare/Jill Myles is one of the authors who have the great writing style. She doesn't clutter everything with descriptions or unnecessary details, she creates great characters and has unusual ideas(first pig as a pet EVER!). She's one of the authors that I love to read to unwind and to relax.

This suits Risa very well

Billionaire of Bluebonnet-Jessica Clare “The woman opening the door was gorgeous.” “There was something soft and vulnerable underneath her friendly, polite smile” “she took his hand in hers and began to drag him across the living room to the French doors at the far end of the room. That small, warm contact of her hand touching his seemed incredibly intimate and casual.” “Risa had been dazzled by the handsome man this time. Now that she wasn’t being interviewed by him, she could relax and study him from across the room. And Travis Jesson was gorgeous. He was cool, and self-assured, with a strong jaw that never seemed to smile and a serious, almost stern mien. She’d half fallen in love with him that day, watching him as he fussed over his grandmother, making sure that she had the best of everything available to her. Insisting that she rest and get well.” “Dark eyes stared down at her, a mixture of fury and something else burning in them.” “Who knew that a little whiskey and a conversation with a pig would show that Travis Jesson had a heart after all?” “He was tanned, too. Tanned and gorgeous and entirely too delicious for someone as plump and frumpy as her.” “She moved to pull her hand from his, only his grip tightened over hers. Surprised, she met his eyes and found him staring at her with an intensity that seemed entirely too sober.” ““I’m going to kiss you,” he told her softly. “Been thinking about it all day, and I think I have enough alcohol in me that I won’t care if you slap me.”” “Hot and wet and tasting of whiskey, his open mouth swooping over her own. Startled, she remained frozen underneath him for a moment, only to feel him finish the kiss quickly and then move lower, sucking and biting at her lower lip. Coaxing her to respond to him.” “He tasted warm and sweet, wholly different than that harsh chug of whiskey.” “He kissed just like a dream.” “Do you not realize how sexy you are?” “For some reason, she liked seeing that he wasn’t perfect. It brought him closer to her level. Just a touch.” “But for some reason, he kept thinking of Risa’s soft smile. The way her eyes lit up with pleasure. The delicate spatter of freckles on her hips. The plump ass pushing up against him as he’d slept. The way she’d grabbed his hand and showed him exactly what she wanted.” “soft and sweet and laughing, but determined to get what she wanted” “He liked that about Risa. She intrigued him, and she was sexy, and she was incredibly stubborn. One night wasn´t going to be enough time with her, he knew. He wanted more time to explore her body. To take her a hundred different ways and see her reactions. To see what other things she´d be demanding about. He needed to find a way to keep her close to him for a little while longer yet. Until he got her out of his system.” “She needed time to gather her thoughts and clear her mind. Being around Travis was heady, and she wanted to make sure she just wasn’t intoxicated with her fantasy of him.” “Business doesn´t stop in the weekends.” “I like the way you are. Soft and delicious in my arms.” “You can melt a girl with your words.” “Couldn´t wait to pull you in my arms again. I kept getting distracted during my meetings.” “She wanted more of his mouth, more of him.” “As she drifted off to sleep, Risa thought that this Travis, the one in bed with her, just might be the perfect man.” “She enjoyed his company-his laugh, his smile, his conversation. She loved his body, loved the way he touched her and brought her pleasure. She hated his Blackberry.” “I mostly came here because I had a fantasy of you, and I was half in love with you the moment you walked through your grandmother´s door. Being with you has been part of a fantasy, but the reality is that you don´t have time for anyone.” “Time is the only thing I want from you. I want us to be a real couple. If you want me to live here with you, I´ll stay. I´ll look for a teaching job in Houston. Keep your thirty grand. Keep all of it. We´ll be a real couple and try this thing out. But I require time and effort. I want someone that will be with me, not someone that´s with their BlackBerry.” “I´m not asking you to make a choice. You are who you are. I am who I am, unfortunately, and I want the chance to be with someone who wants to be with me. It´s not that I´m giving you an ultimatum. It´s that we´re two immovable objects. You have your work on this side, and I am on the other. The twoaren´t going to meet in the middle.” “He hated the thought of her being sad.” “Travis watch her approach and gave her a smile. Not his faint, amused smile, but a truly warm one that made his eyes crinkle at the corners, and made her want to drop her panties.” “I don´t want you to go. It´s going to be hard for me to walk away from the work sometimes, but I´m willing to give it a try of you are.” “I said that everyone had a price, and you told me yours. You wanted time. I’m willing to give it to you. Every evening and every weekend, I’m yours.” “Before he could finish the sentence, she was kissing him, her arms around his neck. He hauled her against him, his tongue slicking against her own hungrily. They continued to kiss for a long time, until Gregory gave a squeal as he ate and Risa began to laugh against Travis’s mouth.” “Gregory’s cake was a vegetable concoction made with bran and carrots. Risa’s cake was topped with a two-carat engagement ring. Of course she said yes. How could she not? Her billionaire didn’t like taking no for an answer, and this was one occasion when she didn’t mind that in the slightest.”

Jessica Clare managed to capture my heart with this very short story. This book has the same flavor as The Girls Guide to (Man) Hunting but squeezed in a little package of a novella.

Travis Jesson is successful and a very rich businessman who had to come back home to the small town of Bluebonnet to take care of his inheritance. What he didn’t know was that his grandmother left him more than he expected. One smart grandmother, as she knows exactly what he needed.

Risa Moore worked as a live-in assistant to Travis’ grandmother until she passed away. Now, she has to move out and find another job. But before she moves on, she has to make sure Gregory is well cared for and what she gets in return is truly priceless.

Travis and Risa come together after losing someone they both love. Though there was a bit of “pretty woman-ish” element to this story, their coming together by consoling each other definitely felt realistic to me. I love both H/h and their pet Gregory who had quite a personality. This small town love story is sweet, heartfelt and is sure to sweep you off your feet.

I highly recommend this novella as well as the full length books: A Girls Guide to Man Hunting (Bluebonnet #1) & the upcoming book The Care and Feeding of an Alpha Male (Bluebonnet #2).

Unfortunately this was extremely short so there was little time for a believable relationship to develop. Risa and Travis' meetings prior to the start of this book didn't let me believe they would be so willing to make life-altering changes after being together a week. Gregory the pig was fantastic. This is nothing like the other books in the series, so aside from being set partially in Bluebonnet, you don't need to read this at all (these characters weren't even mentioned in the first 2 Bluebonnet books). The price at almost $3 was way more expensive than what I would expect to pay for such a short novella.

I enjoyed this novella a lot! While I agree with my dear friend Kristin on her point that occassionally in a novella characters have little time to develop, Travis melted my heart when he broke down looking at his granmother Pearl's scrapbook! This was a huge point in his favor and (for me) made up for the lack of development! Plus they sorta had a history (albeit more for her than him), which offset the lack of development for me...AND what Travis did after his emotional breakthrough just won me over! Lovely!

This book got me in trouble. It showed up on my husband's kindle and he glanced at it and was horrified at the language. I hope he doesn't find 50 Shades of Grey on there. :O I really like this author, but although the pig was cute, it didn't really add much to the story. It was a novella though, a nice quick read. Extremely hot (which got me in hot water). I like the Succubus and Dating Service books a bit better than the Bluebonnet ones. Love this author!

This book didn't seem to fit into the series at all. I hated the main guy, Travis. He was the typical CEO, can't live without his phone, overachieving jerk. He has been this way so long, and Risa changes his mind within a week? The whole thing didn't seem believable.

I love this series and can't wait for the next book in the series. So if this the is the first book you read in the series, don't be discouraged by this review, cause this series is awesome.

I've never had any problem with short story and I actually preferred one but tgis story is just bland. There is no chemistry whatsoever between the H n h. They just basically a hook-up whom all of sudden felt connected with each other????? This story really felt incomplete. The story kinda insulting thou as the H wouldn't even notice the h when she was not "beautiful" as she turned into and not wearing glasses. Urghhh so not fair

I liked this novella. The characters moved pretty fast but since it was so short, I guess they had to in order to wrap it up. I liked Gregory the pig. I am ready to read the next Bluebonnet book. This novella did not take place in Bluebonnet for very long. They were only there for like a couple of days.

Though not as deep as I hoped it would go, this novel is a nice read nonetheless. About half way I was thinking 'why doesn't she just go? What is she doing sticking around? Take the pig. Go and find a new job.' And unfortunately that stayed with me throughout the novel until the end. But I did enjoy sections of it.

It was not the worst Ive read but also not the best. He was a little... hmmm... over the top. And the sex was not as good as book 1. All in all... a good short story just not in the the Bluebonnet line.

A too short, wayyyyy overpriced novella that doesn't really add anything to this otherwise great series. Unless this one suddenly becomes a free read, it definitely doesn't need to be read in order to enjoy the rest of what Bluebonnet has to offer (IMHO).....

This one was short, but surprisingly enjoyable.

We didn't really get to know either character deeply due to it's length.

Gregory was amusing.

All in all, I enjoyed it. I think it felt like she was starting to percolate ideas for the Billionaires Series and used this as a testing ground.
