Though Angela Benson began writing fiction in Miss Milizo's fifth grade English class, her first book was not published until 1994, more than thirty years later! Since then, Angela has published twelve novels, two novellas, and a nonfiction writing book. Her books have appeared on national, regional and local bestseller lists, and she has won several writing awards, including Best Multicultural Romance from Romantic Times magazine, and Best Contemporary Ethnic Romance from Affaire de Coeur magazine. After publishing seven contemporary romance novels and one novella with Kensington and Harlequin, Angela made a faith move to Christian fiction in 2000 with the publication of Awakening Mercy, the first book in her Genesis House series from Tyndale House Publishers. Awakening Mercy was a finalist for both the RITA Award given by Romance Writers of America (RWA) and the Christy Award for Excellence in Christian Fiction. The second book in the Genesis House series, Abiding Hope, was published in September 2001. Abiding Hope was awarded the Emma Award for Best Inspirational Romance presented by the Romance Slam Jam. The third book and final book of the series, Enduring Love, is not yet scheduled.

BET Books, now Harlequin's Kimani Press purchased the mass market rights to Awakening Mercy and Abiding Hope in 2000 and released mass market editions of the titles in June 2002 and June 2003, respectively.

Angela's first hardcover title, The Amen Sisters, was released in September 2005 by Walk Worthy Press. The Essence bestselling title won the Emma Award for Best Inspirational Romance. The trade paperback edition was released in November 2007.

Up Pops the Devil, published by HarperCollins (Avon A) in August 2008, was Angela's eleventh novel. It was selected the November 2008 African-American Book Club Pick at Books-A-Million and was featured in the September-October 2008 issue of UPSCALE Magazine.

Angela's twelfth novel, Sins of the Father (Avon A), hits bookstores in September 2009. Her second novella, Showers of Blessings, in the A Million Blessings (Dafina) anthology, was published in March 2010.

Great friends to lovers novella.
Paige, Reed and Dexter were all lawyers.
Reed once worked for a prestigious highly paid lawyer and up and quit his job and began working for the PD offices of which did not like but Reed had his reasons.
Paige's dad wanted better for her he did not think that Reed was good enough for Paige because Reed was so much like him. He wanted Dexter because he was a yes man and went along with Paige's father.
Dexter and Paige were engaged to be married but he didn't really spend much time with Paige, but Reed was always there.
Reed's grandmother pays a surprise visit and he informs her that he and Paige are engaged and she falls in love with Paige. Reed's apartment floods and he asks Paige can he and his grandmother move into in her tiny one bedroom apartment and to pretend that they are engaged; and she does.
Sparks begin to fly and Paige and Reed's relationship takes are turn from friends to lovers which was always evident but they agreed to keep it on a friendship level.
There are 5 more books in this series hope Paige and Reed are mentioned in them would love to see their progress.

Excellent read

I loved the way Reed manipulated Paige in allowing him to spend time with her in her home. Grandma was the best. Dexter was weak. Loved this love story. So cute.😀😀😀😀😀

When I first read the summary for Friend and Lover by Angela Benson , the story sound enticing and a fun read . It is a story about Paige and Reed who have been best friends for about 4-years , but everything changes when Reed's apartment gets flooded and his grand mother in town changes everything . During Reed's grandmother's visit he asked his best friend Paige to pretend to be his fiancee when Paige herself is engaged to a different man , but everything falls to place when Paige falls in love with her best friend during the charade , and they both found happiness and love in each other when New Year's arrive !!!

I really like this cute fluffy story I just wished though that the story was much longer, because as soon as I reach the end of the book I was simply looking forward to more , but the story just ends.

This was a cute story but I didnt like just how blind she was towards her fiance and it irked me. (One of those I love you but Ive promised to marry this other guy and my dad likes him so Im going to do it) I wish he would have just walked out a lot sooner.

I first read this story years ago in a paperback anthology. I'm so glad it's on kindle now. Ms. Benson is one of the best multicultural romance writers out there. I hope more of her older romances come out in ebook form soon.

This is the first book I read by Angela Benson. I thought Paige father was a jerk. I loved how Reed showed Paige who was the right man for her. I would definitely read more books by this author.

This was a good, clean, short story. Nothing I'll be raving to friends about, but not a waste of time, either.

Very funny and entertaining. Quick read and nice self-published Kindle version. I would recommend. The loving friendship was a nice twist to the story and made it a good read.
