I Liked it=) Lisa was anxious that she'd be left alone in her life now that her daughter will be heading to college. her best friend was planning for a one week vacation with her, her daughter and her ex-husband Rick both agreed that its time that she needed some vacation in her life, what she didn't know was that Rick was planning that vacation with her with the help of her best friend and their daughter.
Rick and Lisa were divorced 15 years but still friends..Rick was with her through tough times and also helping her raising their daughter, although they knew that there still sparkle in their relationship, they were both afraid that it will ruined their friendship they've grown through the years.
Will she accept Rick's hand for the second time or will she let herself drown in loneliness for the rest of her life?
This is a story of second chance in love that will provide you lots of steamy scenes. Location: Saint Thomas Island in the Caribbean:)
Nice, hot, second chance story. Rick and Lisa married too young because of their daughter-to-be and struggled to stay together. After a few years, they came to the conclusion that they needed to divorce for the sake of that daughter. But they never stopped caring or loving and worked together to raise an accomplished young woman. When it is no longer all about raising their daughter, Rick decides it is time to see if what they had before and no one has lived up to since, is still there. A surprise trip to the Caribbean and they rekindle their passion and overcome her fears. I am a sucker for second chance stories, especially when it is all about growing up and there isn't any blame, so this worked for me!
How long would you wait to have the love of your life? Rick wait 16 long years. Lisa and Rick were married young, had a child young and even though their love was fierce things didnt work out the way they planned.
Lisa fell in love with Rick when she was 14 never fell out of love. That torch still burns for him and every day she longs for the one man she knows she cant have. Or can she?
Rick has always been there for her and their daughter. Now that their only link is off to college Lisa feels as though she must move on with her life. No more pining over Rick. She cant keep him trapped to her, even though he is there willingly.
Lisa decide yes she will go on vacation with Connie her best friend. And while there, she will live a little. Unbeknownst to her, there are plans and schemes afoot. Connie's flight is delayed and from there Lisa vacation has done a complete 180. She just wanted to relax and enjoy this time away but nothing is going according to plan.
While Lisa waits for an unwanted date she sees a familiar face. Rick? It cant be him, right? It is and the two that were so in love when they were so young come together as consenting and willing adults. That spark is still there but like any sane woman, Lisa has reservation. She doesnt want Rick to feel obligated to be with her, she wants him to want her for her. And he does, with everything he has. He really is a beautiful man. The way he stood by her even though they werent together.
A nice feel good kinda a book for sure. I really enjoyed it.
I really couldn't get into this story. The main female character (I didn't like it so much I can't remember her name, and I JUST got done reading it. I think it was Lisa.) was annoying. Oh I want him, oh no I don't, wait yes I do, no I really don't, do I? There I just summed up the whole book in one sentence.
There was also a discrepancy in the book, that might seem small but I thought it was huge. Lisa (?) said in the beginning that she hadn't slept with any other men, only him, ever. Then towards the end Rick asked her if she had and she said yes. Details like that matter. It changes the whole outlook on the situation of the emotions. She either cared enough to not sleep with anybody else or she didn't. On the other hand, I'm over the whole "oh it's been years but I've not slept with anyone else because I love you" that female characters do. Yet the man has ALWAYS been with other women. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like yeah it's okay for guys to go out and get some even though they are madly in love with someone else, but because you have a vagina you better close up shop if you love someone you aren't with. It would be nice if every once in a while the man would forgo sex because he loved so deeply. It seems to be a growing trend and I wish it would stop.
WAY cute story! I love a good romance from those who grew up together.
In this book, we have Rick and Lisa - Lisa was 14 when they met, Rick was 17 - they both knew instantly that they were going to be together. They waited until Lisa was 16, but then she got pregnant. They got married and tried to make the most out of life. Rick was barely 20, trying to work his way through college, raise a daughter and his teenage wife. But times like that are hard, the bills pile up, and the stress takes over. They both knew that the best thing for them was to get a divorce.
But they still remained friends. Rick was there for their daughter no matter what. And even though they both dated off and and on, neither one found that special someone.
The book starts off with everyone ganging up on Lisa to take a week vacation with her BFF Connie. Lisa is a nurse now, and she works too hard. Takes life too seriously.
Caving in, Lisa heads off to St. Thomas Island.. Connie was going to meet up with her later since they couldn't get on the same flight. But when Connie called Lisa to tell her that her flight was delayed and she wouldn't be in til tomorrow morning, But reassured Lisa that she had found someone to meet her down at the bar for dinner so Lisa didn't hole herself up in the hotel suite alone.
Lisa was feeling lonely and not really anxious to meet some strange guy. But she headed down to the bar.. and that's where she met him.
Was the connection between Lisa and Rick strong enough to let them re-kindle their own flames? Or was Lisa's over thinking going to cause too many doubts in her head to give happiness a shot?
I love stories about second chance at love. This was a different take on it. I didn't read this as part of the original anthology, although I had that on my TBR for a while.
This story was different because Lisa and Rick were high school sweethearts and then Rick got Lisa pregnant when she was 16 and things changed. They got married but quickly things didn't work out so they got divorced. However, they raised their daughter together and were always in each others lives. Now their daughter is 18 and going to college. And she's making her mom, Lisa, kick start her new life with going away on a tropical vacation. Except that was all a setup so Rick and Lisa can get back together.
The premise is really sweet and just makes you happy that their love was able to persevere. I also thought the whole coming together idea was great, compliments to the daughter. The only thing I didn't like or understand was how much she fought them getting back together. I just didn't get the why, I thought that was unnecessary conflict when there could've been something else.
I really did enjoy the story though and I think the author did an amazing job at conveying these characters back story and feelings in such a short time. And oh... did I mention it was frecking hot?!?!
Loved this book and almost didn't buy it. The title made me thing that it was bondage. It isn't. This was a very touching, loving HOT, oh yah HOT story of a couple who married way too young but loved each other. The money problems, career problems and the baby problems tore them apart and into a divorce. Years later, after staying in touch because of the baby, they rediscover their love.
Lisa and Rick step back while on holiday at the same place and take a new look at each other and at their relationship over the years. Although this is a novella the character building was so well done you could not help but understand each, love each and encourage each on to the HEA you knew was coming.
Beautiful people in an exotic location are having hot sex and easily getting back together. I love a good second chance story with ex spouses, but this one was so far from the real life.
