This is well written. It has a good plot and great characters. The added characters are developed well even if the don't have a main part. I highly recommend this.

Rachel Kaufmann is part of the old order Mennonites, and after her husband's death life is very difficult both for her and her son Justin, as her brother-in-law Luke is very strict, and thinks he should order both her and her son around now that James is no longer there to take care of them.

Love it! I've found most Amish books are typically the same sweet story. This one carries more real life situations through it which makes it stand above the others. Intriguing.

A Mother's Promise by Anna Schmidt
4 STARS
The Women of Pincraft

A Mother's Promise is a good story and made for a great Sunday read. It also made me greatful for my girl's good health.
Rachel Kaufman is a widow with a 12 year old son, who decides to leave Ohio, and take a new job in Florida.
Her old friend for collage lives thier and helped her get a job working in the new hospital. Rachel likes her new job but she is on call a lot and is working on getting her certifcate at the same time.
Justin Kaufman is 12 and for the first time is going to a public school. He gets into the wrong gang of kids.
Sally tries to be his friend but Justin listens to his new friends over her. Sally has luekemia and is in remission. Her father is on the President of the board at hospital. Her Uncle Ben is a doctor.
Rachel and Justin are living in a small guest house for free for the trial time at the hospital.
Everyone except Darcy Meekins hospital administrator likes Rachel and thinks she is doing a great job.
Dr. Ben Booker is single and is close to his sister and niece Sally. He works closely with Darcy at the hospital and does not realize she has set her cap for him.
Hester Rachel's friend that got her the job we met her in A Stranger's Gift. Some of the same characters can be found in both stories.
Thier is drama, conflict and problems but thier is forgiveness and hope, and love.
I have enjoyed getting to know these characters and would love to see them again.
I look forward to reading more books in The Women of Pincraft series.
I was given this ebook to read and in exchange of honest review from Netgalley.

I was wonderfully surprised by A Mother's Promise by Anna Schmidt, which is Book 3 of Women of Pinecraft series. I loved this book so much I plan to read the two previous books in the series, which are A Stranger's Gift (book #1) and A Sister's Forgiveness (book #2)

Having been a young widow myself, I found it easy to identify with the feelings and mourning stages that Rachel went through. I admired her for deciding to make a new life for herself and her son, Justin in Florida. It also took courage for her to go to college before she married in the Mennonite community that did not encourage their women to do so. She was a women with an incredibly sweet spirit, that drew most people to her. It was wonderful to see how that same sweet spirit worked on others in the book who did not want to give her a chance. She touched many lives and they were all changed for the better.

Dr. Ben Booker is a man that I instantly liked. And his niece Sally is an strong young girl of 13, to be inspired by. Thank you Anna for a very enjoyable book. I will recommend this book to my friends and give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

I received this book from Barbour Publishing and Net Galley for my honest review.

Rachel Kauffman lost her husband when a drunk driver hit the tractor he was driving. She witnessed it. Her brother in law and his family move into her house and Rachel and Justin must endure his wrath. He belittles both and works Justin so hard. When her college friend, Hester, sends a letter inviting them to come to Florida Rachel decides to go.

I liked the main characters in this novel, all were very friendly and helpful to Rachel when she arrives in Fl. The brother in law made me angry at the abusive way he treated her and Justin.I was glad she left his home. Upon arriving to their new home Justin enters public school and tries his best to hide the fact that he is Mennonite. He makes friends with the wrong crowd and things get rough when his friend sees Rachel at the school in her plain clothes.

Dr. Booker is wonderful, you can't help but fall in love with him. He is instantly attracted to Rachel and she to him but she knows this would never work because they are of different faiths.

Schmidt has written a delightful book, full of real life issues. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I received a copy of this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

A Mother's Promise
by Anna Schmidt

I recently completed reading the novel, "A Mother's Promise." This book is about a single Mennonite mother trying to raise her son to the best of her ablilities. I loved this book. I really connected with the main character, Rachael Kaufmann. My heart was torn when Rachael's son was struggling between right and wrong, my heart cried out for Sally who is battling a serious illness with such courage, and my heart was completely blown away with the development of relationships along the way. (no spoilers here~~) Every day I looked foward to picking up this book and reading it to see what happens next.
Amid tragedy, bullying, betrayal, and saddness, Faith prevails, Love blossoms, and Hope guides each individual. I wish to thank you Anna, for sharing this beautiful story of love, faith, hope and forgiveness with us all.
I highly recommend this book~~especially to all those who love Amish Fiction books!!!!

This book is part of the Women of Pinecraft series. You do not have to read the others in the series to enjoy this one! This book is about a Mennonite named Rachel and her son. She moves hoping for a better life and definitely gets a more exciting one.

I gave this book5/5 stars. I liked how real the main character Rachel seemed. You could really understand why she made the decisions she made. As you read her story you will see how she changes and matures after each incident in her life. If you enjoy Christian fiction set in the Amish community you will enjoy this book. If you like meaningful characters and story lines you will really enjoy this one!

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
