About the author

Lindy Dale

28 books227 followers
Lindy began writing at University but never really wanted to be 'an author'. She wanted to be a Princess or at worst a Kindergarten teacher. Her first novel, Heart of Glass, was penned in 2007 and since then she become known for writing funny, forthright romantic fiction with a cast of crazy, comic characters. Lindy is also well-known for her short, romantic novellas which have repeatedly topped the short stories charts in the US and UK. She gains most of her inspiration from her dreams, listening to music and watching ridiculous amounts of reality TV.

In 2012, Lindy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and, never one to let a chance escape, she used the hospital visits to write Storm in a B Cup, which features the fictional character Sophie, whose medical experiences mirror the author's own journey. Sophie however, ends up with her hot plastic surgeon. Lindy is still very much married to her gorgeous husband of twenty-six years. Storm in a B Cup went on to reach #1 in Medical Fiction, #1 in Breast Cancer Fiction, #1 in Genre Fiction on Amazon US and #4 on iBooks AU.

I admit I haven't heard of the author, L.A. Dale and would probably never even read this book if I didn't have the habit of stalking checking my GR friends and books they are reading. So, one of my GR friends is currently reading this book, and first thing that came to my mind was - "I WANT TO READ IT TOO! Look at that lovely pink cover! I love pink!" (sounds shallow, but c'moooon, I know there's many of you out there that have an instant crush on a book just based on the cover).
So, I head to AMAZON and what a lovely surprise..It's a freebie!!!

AWESOME right?

So I started reading it and though I hardly ever read novellas, this sweet and warm read grabbed my attention from the start. A small town girl meets a mega rock star, it may be a cliche, but I didn't really care actually. I just immediately fell in love with the characters, Daisy Darling and Henry a.k.a Hawk Moon. Daisy's name suits her well, she is a darling, and though at the beginning I thought she's older, she's only in her 30ties. (Which in my "dictionary" is everything but old, ok?) She's charming, modest, shy...really loveable!

Hawk is (of course) sexy, handsome, and oh so famous. I did like him, just not as much as I liked Daisy.

So here I am, 53% into the book and I'm thinking I could never give it less than 4 stars (which according to GR means I really really liked it). But guess what? As I was progressing with the book I realized what once was a sweet story turned into a TOO sweet story and a very predictable one. So, I'm giving this book 3 stars, but let me tell you - I did enjoy it and I'm actually very happy I read it and discovered an author I haven't came across before. I believe romance fans will greatly enjoy it and love both Daisy and Hawk. (and since it's a freebie, it definitely deserves to be checked out, who knows, you might enjoy it even more than I did).

Ok, not just any man but the man of her rock & roll dreams.
Daisy a newly divorced woman of a thirteen year old daughter who is away at school. She is wallowing in the fact that her good for nothing husband left her for a skinny busty 19 year old bimbo. But, on his way out proceeds to tell her he doesn't love her & oh by the way I haven't wanted to make love to you for a while cuz your hips have gotten to big. Yet, after he leaves she can't eat & loses a bunch of weight plus his dead weight let's say now she is to thin. Then, one cold & rainy nite a knock on her door comes. On the other side stands a man holding one of her lambs & is soaking wet. She allows him in & what luck that is for it is Henry Hawk that's who. But the name at first does not ring a bell. Until he gets ready to shower while waiting for his ride since he is soaked & removes his hat. Then she sees he is her rock & roll idol. This nite changes both their lives. What a sweet honest look at what you can only imagine these celebrities really go through. Just wanting to be normal & treated normal. That is what Daisy gave to Henry as a gift "normal." Very good short story.

Short and sweet but wishing that the story didn't end too soon! It would have been fun to read the reaction of the ex-husband when sees Daisy with a hot rock star! Ü

Perfect read for a lunch break or if you have spare 20 mins. A short story that still manages to encorporate a full story and leave you satisfied at the end.

Quick, cute couple hour read. I didn't mark it down because of it's length. It's a novella and I hate it when people give low ratings because they say, "It's too short."

It started off cute and strong, but there were just too many times where I found myself not believing it or wanting at least a tad more depth to the hero (as much as a novella can offer at any rate). Overall a fun read if you've got a few hours to kill.

Cute predictable story. A quick Summer read. The beginning was a little slow, very Briget Jones-esque. The story was very Notting Hill-ish...as the character points out a couple of times.
