Right off the bat I must say that I am not a religious woman and what I believe in really doesn't matter. I wasn't aware that this book wasn't regular paranormal but categorized under Christian fantasy and now that I've read it does it matter? NO! I think anyone, no matter what your background is hopefully you will appreciate the underlying story.

Levi is a devout Christian.Handsome country man. He works hard in a lumberyard and tries to minister to the less fortunate and whomever needs his help. He has also taken a vow a celibacy to prove his devotion to his GOD. Unfortunately because of his faith he is harassed on the bus on a daily basis by a group of dirty, drug addicts. Especially from a girl named Tori. His daily routine is brought to a halt when the gang takes their harassing too far and injuries to Levi are too brutal for him to awaken from.
While unconscious Levi is set on a Journey to aid a beautiful woman named Jewel and to test his faith, love, and trust in another and to renew hers. They are aided by their Guardians who quote and interpret from the Bible when a situation was in need of it.

For this authors first book I think she did a very good job of linking the main characters together and giving them such an emotionally strong story to work with. Kudos to Azure for working together paranormal and religion.

What I interpreted from the story is that Love and trust can transcend anything. With the added bonus of your own faith you can overcome almost any obstacle put before you.

I liked the characters. I liked the way spiritual warfare was portrayed in the beginning, that the theology was (almost always) backed up with Scripture, and I LOVED the ending. One of my main frustrations with Christian fiction has been when an author sets up the possibility of a miracle, and then decides not to write it in for whatever reason, making the characters fall into the traditional “The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away” mentality. Miracles don’t happen just because God wills them – miracles happen when the person completely surrendered to God says “Nothing is going to steal God’s promise to me!” This is one of the FEW (out of the thousands of Christian books out there) that follows through on the hope and fulfillment of a miracle.

That said, I had issues with this book as well. You can read a full review on my blog.

Can an author successfully combine paranormal/fantasy, action, adventure, love and religion in one book? The answer is a resounding YES!!!! Azure Boone did just that!

I found the main story to be both dramatic and enchanting. I did not find the religious aspects of this book to be over bearing in the least, in fact I barely noticed them. They were woven in so well and complimented the love story. This book showed me that love, trust and a little faith (not necessarily religion) can help you overcome many obstacles put in your path.

I went into reading Under-Gods knowing of its Christian undertones but put that aside as I did not want to have any preconceptions blinding my judgement of this book. And I am so glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and wished it was longer or even a series!

I have mixed feelings about this one. First I didn't like it, and then I did and then I got a bit bored in the middle, and then it got confusing with characters being two people at once. It all came together at the end though, and the romance was sweet, but it was a bit too religious for me.

Levi is a good man who has devoted his life to God. But when God sends him on a journey to help a beautiful woman, Jewel, we see Levi change. He falls in love and his trust and faith are tested.

I couldnt put this book down. The action scenes are so realistic and the love scenes are tender and sensual. I was in awe of how Ms Boone described Heaven , in her writing, as if I was actually standing there.

I also enjoyed the relationship between Levi and Ark, Jewel's Guardian Angel.

This book is 5 stars. I hope Ms Boone will continue with a series. I loved Levi and Jewel so much. I am looking forward to many books from this author, a talent that is phenomenal
