The Fallen Warriors #3

For Want of an Angel

Rate this book
Fallen angel Aaron has found the woman of his dreams, an alluring nephilim who has no clue what she really is. By taking her as his mate, he can preserve his strength and immortality... something he’ll need in the fight against the angels who seek to destroy mankind. But first he must convince her that he and his Fallen brethren are not the evil beings they have been made out to be.

Samantha Benson has the ability to interfere with electrical signals, an attribute which makes professional thievery the perfect career for her. As if her special abilities weren’t enough to deal with, a fallen angel lands right before her and tells her she has angelic blood. He also expects her to believe the Fallen are really the good guys, and that the rest of the angels plan for human annihilation. Surely the sexy-as-sin Fallen is lying. But if so, then why do his words make such sense?

As the Fallen plan to infiltrate a secret prison built by the angels, Aaron must not only convince Samantha that mankind needs her help, but also that the two of them are meant to be together...forever.

5 Stars! I WANT AN ANGEL OF MY OWN!! I thought I would be lost when I started this, since it's been a while that the last book was released, but it was easy to jump back in. Damn this was HOT! Flap those wings baby and cool me down!! Aaron was freakin' adorable and YOWZA that whole "your essence calls to me" thing...TURNED ME ON!! I admit it, so there!! Nostrils were flaring when the other "single" Fallens could sense it too...WOW...angel testosterone...makes me quiver all over!! Loved Samantha and her spunk, she fit right in with the other nephilims! The sisterhood is growing.

The story was fast-paced, exciting, and had a turn of events that was entirely unexpected, I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. Even though the "love factor" comes into play rather quickly, it works because of the story line. There is plenty of easy flowing dialogue and lots of steamy passionate, sensual, toe-curling ANGEL SEX...I loved it and I'm going straight to hell!! I thought about detracting a star due to the length, but Rosalie Lario packs so much story into so few pages, more than you get in a lot of full length books, that she deserves the 5!! I just wish that the books were released closer together!

My Thoughts:

Samantha is a semi-professional robber who has the ability to manipulate electrical signals by focusing her energy to the task at hand. Her mother died several years before and her stepfather was the one who taught her more about robbing. Ever since her Mom's "accident" Samantha and her Dad lost their trust in the angels so they basically went into hiding and lived under the radar by robbing and selling their new treasures on the black market.

Aaron is another one of our sexy Fallen angels. He has his sights set on Samantha and he won't have it any other way then to get her back to their home and somehow convince her to stay with him...forever. He also has to try to convince her that they need her help to infiltrate the prison and risk her life to save all of humankind.

I really, REALLY enjoyed Samantha's character. She is very direct and to-the-point. She doesn't beat around the bush, she told it like it was and just wanted to get right down to the point when asking Aaron questions about everything that was going on. She is very brave and I can see why Aaron was so attracted to her.

I had trouble figuring out Aaron's personality, but I liked how he was more open with Samantha (aka us) about everything that happened when they first fell from the other angels. He also explained why their wings are no longer white. The other portion to his character that I enjoyed was the fact that he was actually vulnerable! The book didn't make a HUGE deal of this, but he had been mated before they fell...but his mate didn't fall with him and that completely broke his heart. He thought she loved him with all of her being, but she didn't and we have that point hit a couple of times in the book. He was actually nervous about getting into another mating relationship because of it! YES, a vulnerable tough guy. :-D

On top of the fact that I LOVED Samantha and really enjoyed Aaron, I liked how there was a lot of action in this book. At the end is when they decide to infiltrate the prison and some things happen that you aren't completely expecting! There is also a weapon that is revealed that the bad angels have...a weapon that if the Fallen had gone into battle not being aware of, they would have all died! That's all I can say at this point without giving anything away, but the ending was definitely a very nice change of pace! :-)

Overall:

Again, this is not a series that you have to read the first two books to understand what is going on in this one. There is a lot of mention of our first two couples, Micheal & Eva and Ethan & Tayla, but that is it. The action at the end of this book was fantastic and that mixed with the "ballsy" Samantha and slightly vulnerable Aaron really kept me reading! This took me half a day to read, that that was while taking care of my 10-month-old, so if you're looking for a quick Paranormal Fix, I'd highly suggest picking this book up and checking it out! Still trying to figure out exactly how she is going to write the battle and humankind figuring out about the "good" angels vs the Fallen...

"Never touch an angel's wings unless you mean to touch more of him."

~Aaron

Sitting high upon a rooftop in the city of Chicago, fallen angel Aaron watches and waits. His chest fills with pride as he spies his intended, the beautiful Samantha Benson, slip in and out of the shadows then ultimately break into a museum.

Samantha is all alone in the world and finding it hard to bend to the new rules set in place a year prior when the humans all but handed over complete control to the angels, so that they may protect them.If she can pull off this heist, maybe, just maybe, she can create a new life for herself. A new life is closer than she realizes and comes in the form of a tall, bronzed bodied, blonde with topaz eyes and wings aflutter.

Aaron's need for her goes beyond the electric energy she creates in his heart and body alike. An unmated angel is vulnerable and that's not something Aaron can risk given the war at hand to save humankind. Samantha possesses a unique ability that will aid Aaron and the rest of the Fallen in their mission. Will she risk her life for the mission and her heart at the same time?

For Want of an Angel, the 3rd installment of The Fallen Warriors series, is a sweet, yet oh so spicey novella. Aaron has been betrayed, he still bares the scars, literally. His heart remains pure and open to the love he both desires and deserves. He's written with a boyish charm with a glint of mischief which is always a plus for me. As with most novellas, I wanted more. I enjoyed how his story played out, I only wish it had been elaborated on, more details, more backstory. That being said, For Want of an Angel brings in some action and suspense near the end creating a great set up for book 4 which is set to be released later this month. Stay turned!

Rosalie Lario/ For Want of an Angel (The Fallen Warriors Series)

Aaron is one of the Fallen and he’s found his mate Samantha, a cat burglar, who can manipulate and interfere with electrical signals. Samantha believes all angels are evil and has real trust issues where angels are concerned. When Aaron shows up and bungles one of her heists, she expects the worst.

Aaron’s wife betrayed him and he believed he’d never find another mate. So when he finds Samantha, he will do anything to convince her to stay with him, but first he must prove his intentions are not to harm mankind, but to save them.

Ms. Lario’s Fallen Warriors series had me hooked with book one. I love her strong, warrior angels and their nephilim mates. The romance is the first and foremost in these tales, but there is a back story. These fallen are trying to same mankind from the angels who are bent on destroying humans. In this tale Samantha and Aaron must learn to trust each other. Aaron’s wife betrayed him and left him to die. He never thought he’d love again until he meets Samantha. I love Aaron’s strength as well as his vulnerability. Samantha is a strong woman who is a perfect match for Aaron. Though she has trust issues, she’s willing to at least give Aaron a chance to prove his worth. The love scenes are erotic and tender. You can’t help but route for these two. This is a lovely addition to Ms. Lario’s Fallen Warriors series. You’ll want to read them in order to fully appreciate what these fallen angels are trying to do.

I highly recommend this series! Don’t miss the first two stories: For Love of an Angel (book 1) and Angel’s Desire (book 2). Also check out her Demons of Infernum Series. You won’t be disappointed.

I love this series. These are one of my first sexy fallen angels I have ever read about so they hold that special black winged place in my heart.

These books even though we are dealing with Angels is not very religious like or preachy. Angels have taken over Earth. They are using humans pretty much as slaves but the humans are clueless. Once they get what they need from them, then bye bye human race. But our very sexy Fallen Angels are not okay with this and are on a mission to show humans what is going on.

This is the third book in the series so we are onto a new Fallen Angel Aaron. Who is sexy and well just freaking awesome. He has found his mate a nephilim (even though she doesn't know it yet) He needs to convince his little cat burglar to help in the mission and hopefully fall in love with him.

This is one of those one sit reads for me. While the story line was interesting and I do really want to see how this all works out, the romance part had me glued to the pages. Its hot and steamy and its just how I like it. If you are a paranormal romance lover you are going to love these books.

Another great book in the series. Love Aaron and Samantha! I especially love that Samantha is a thief and she's got the consortium over a barrel in the sense they can never admit anything was stolen cause there is supposed to be no crime in the society the angels have created!

Her and Aaron had some explosive chemistry between them and I loved her confidence. I was sad in the sense that we had our first character death in the series but relieved that the character at least didn't suffer as his brethren did when they were condemned, plus at least the fallen took out one of their enemy in retribution when it happened. Still I wish none of them had to die but it is a war and in war there are casualties.

I'm happy that Samantha has decided to stay with them and in particular with Aaron as she was undecided for most of the book whether she would stay and whether she believed Aaron could really love her. She also (as Eva did before her) have to accept the news that she had angel blood in her veins as unlike Tayla she'd never known her father and had no idea she was the daughter of an angel. She never knew that that was the reason for her abilities!

I really like this series. My only complaint is the at the books are so short and this one ended abruptly, it felt like there should be more. I look forward to the next in this series to see how the fallen come back to stop the Angels from destroying the humans. Quite an interesting world the author has created.

this is it!!,, what I've been waiting for.. about damn time the battle begin (even in a very early way).

and so the story of Aaron and Samantha.. damn hot, 2 strong characters whom supported each other.

As usual, the progress of their love story is very quick but intense..

I always fall for the shirtless angels.. they just the ones FALLEN for..

I like the story and everything in it but for me I feel like they are rushing into everything and if the Author just paid a little more attention and added a little bit more between their first contact and the deed itself, the books would be a 5 star.
