With her latest sizzling release, Vampire, Vampire, New York Times and USA Today bestselling paranormal romance author Heather Killough-Walden shares two scorchingly hot, sweet and savage stand-alone vampire romance novellas.(Total word count approx. 70,000 words)In the completely reconstructed Thorn and Grace, an old tale of historical romance is given a very dark make-over. The story of knight meets maiden becomes twisted and shadowed, be-fanged and fallen. A prince turned predator hunts for the one who has betrayed him, in turn becoming a king corrupted by the bitterness within. Will the one he is hunting escape him? And if she doesn't, will she be able to reach the man inside the monster before it's too late?In The Patrick Sinclaire Story, readers are treated to the re-visioned and border-line erotic telling of the tale of a handsome, world-weary vampire sovereign and the woman he would literally do anything to claim as his queen. Intensely arousing, stimulating, and both emotionally and physically provoking - this is not a story for the shy. This is a get-hot-under-the-sheets story. Don't read it if you're expecting the development of an extremely deep and meaningful relationship in less than 80 pages. Do read it, however, if you love vampires, dominant men, and sex that leaves you breathlessly re-reading these pages.

Ok, first off, Vampire, Vampire is a compilation of 2 short stories. Thorn & Grace is the first story and it is a work of brilliance. At it's core, it's a fairy tale of the best kind. The Princess (Queen) is dealt a pretty crappy hand...the bad guy is, well horrible would actually be too kind a word to describe him, completely unredeemable...despicable...needing to die a slow painful death - those words would fit the bad guy better...I don't want to tell you his name bc I don't want to give anything at all away. Anna is so strong, the strongest of all - once things are finally sorted, she quickly realizes she not only has to save her own skin, she has to save her Prince's (King) too...it's girl power to the nth degree. Minus the lovin' you want your little girl to read this story...the Princess is brave beyond compare, strong beyond belief and loyal beyond measure. And her Prince, he never gives up...ever. EVER. They are equals on every level, it's refreshing and beautiful in every single way. Now, it should be noted, HKW writes the lovin' like nobody's business, i swear, my Kindle was smoking! So much girl power, I'll totally encourage my 10 year old daughter to read this when she's older. Far superior to the typical mickey mouse fairy tales!!

Relentless is the second novella. It's shorter than the first and that's probably a good thing. I don't think my blood pressure could've taken much more! Intense and well, relentless - the pace of this story does not let up. It's all written from the POV of the would be Queen - you feel the angst and struggle she feels as she first tries to deny her destiny, with every ounce of her being...and later you are hit with a ton of bricks when the reality of her destiny finally settles in - it's a huge choice she has to make and you're literally left wondering, until the last possible moment, which way her decision will go - I'm not saying anything more for fear of spoilers but don't take anything for granted...it's not your typical vampire story. I will say, this story contains a sex scene that knocked my socks off...seriously, I'm not sure what I just read but it was intense, wicked hot and I'm gonna need my hub's assistance soon. (sorry for the TMI but damn.)

Vampire, Vampire by Heather Killough-Walden

Vampire, Vampire is a book split into two novellas. One is a rewritten version of Thorn and Grace (I have not read the original), and the other is called Relentless, a short story written by Ms. Walden a long time ago. Both are engrossing and will keep you reading until the last page.

Summary: The first novella is set in a medieval time. Christopher, a prince, and Darianna, a princess, are the best of friends, as well as vampires. Darianna agrees to marry Christopher, but on the night she was supposed to arrive at his castle, she disappears. The prince becomes a General, and so begins the endless search to find his bride-to-be that betrayed him. This story takes about 2/3 of the entire book.
In Relentless: The Patrick Sinclaire Story, Patrick Sinclaire is a handsome vampire king. His queen has no idea that she is a latent, one full of untapped power, and that she is his queen. This story takes about 1/3 of the entire book.

What I Liked: I LOVE that the first novella is set in a medieval time. I love historical fiction, with kings, queens, knights, and crazy wars. This story definitely did not disappoint. I love the two main characters, Christopher and Darianna. Christopher never gave up on Darianna. I love the General/commander side of him, as well as the King/sovereign side of him. And the reason Darianna left him is such a good one. You can’t hate wither character for any of their decisions. I love all of the twists towards the end of the book. I am really glad this novella took up more than half of the book, because it was really good.
Not that Relentless wasn’t as good. Relentless is kind of like the vampire parallel of the werewolf world Ms. Walden has created. Instead of a dormant, we have a latent. This story was much darker than the first novella (in my opinion). I liked the queen. I like Patrick to a certain degree. He’s definitely selfish for most of the story, but then he’s not during the end. He’s hard and cruel, and yet he’s loving and passionate. This novella was very short, but length did not nothing to detract from the quality of the novella.

What I Did Not Like: I have no problems with the first novella. I love it. I do have some qualms with Relentless. Like I said above, I liked Patrick to a certain degree. I did not like his cruel side. Yes, he’s the vampire king, and he needs to exert his authority and control, but I can’t say I agreed with his methods. Or his jealousy. Or the fact that he had been watching her for so long, yet did nothing.

Would I Recommend It: Yes. I like the first novella more, but the second is still definitely worth the read. Both novellas are appropriate for very mature young adult readers and adults (although, I’m going to say this: Relentless is highly explicit).

Rating: 5 stars. Thanks for the review copy and for writing, Ms. Walden! :)

Vampire, Vampire, contains two short stories.

The first one is called Thorn and Grace. Christopher Thorn is an Empyrean King. Darianna Grace is the Princess of Lundarien in a kingdom next to his. They had grown up together, trained together, fell in love and were to be married. Due to extenuating circumstances, Anna fails to arrive for the wedding. Heartbroken, Christopher sets out to find his queen and bring her home no matter what it takes.

This story is about their journey. It contains love, betrayal, heroic acts of selflessness, rebellion against heartless leaders and the belief that helping others is more important than anything else. The love between them extends centuries, yet never dies.

I loved this story. Although historical in its setting, the story still felt relevant in today’s time. The willingness to go to any length for love is timeless. I loved that both of them were vampires. There is nothing more romantic or intimate than the taking of each other’s blood. It bonds them together almost as closely as the act of sharing each other’s bodies.

The second story is called Relentless: The Patrick Sinclaire Story. Patrick Sinclaire is a billionaire and a vampire king in search of his queen. He has found her working at the Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps animals of all kinds. He has been alone for so long searching for a queen and when he finds her, he can barely control himself from taking her. Nothing is going to stop him from making her his own.

This is an extremely hot, erotic love story. The passion between Patrick and his queen is so tangible I felt the heat from it. The longing that he feels draws you to him like a fire on a cold night.

I absolutely loved this story. The romance is very arousing and passionate. When he bites her, I swear you will feel like it is you he is possessing. Patrick’s passion will dominate you and you will need a long cold shower when you are finished reading this story.

I highly recommend this book. Both stories are excellent and both are different. I know you will enjoy it.

Vampire Vampire is a dark and sensuous read. It isn’t for the faint of heart, so be warned. Two short stories that will leave you breathless… and read faster than you’ve never read before… enthralling at the very glimmer!

This Adult romance is fantasy at its height! It’s about love and romance that it’s so passionate that you feel everything the characters are feeling.

They are extremely dashing, strong and their adoration for their chosen mate shines like a beacon that makes readers long for what they possess!

The story of King Thorn and Queen Grace is so fervent that it will last over centuries and they both fought to be together! This story was action packed, Hot, Hot, Hot, and Dreamy! Wickedly dark and sensuous! … I loved it!
We all know Heather Killough Walden doesn’t cuddle her readers!!! She delivers Heart pounding, jaw dropping, wincing, cheering, suspense and dramatic climax that will leave you excited and filled with adrenaline all at once. I never get tired of her books… I can’t wait for her next short.

What’s not to love about an H K-W story??

And Vampire, Vampire is a double feature. Heather Killough-Walden gives readers a heads up that these are novellas and that there is no major build-up of romance to go with the overdose of lust.

First up is a reinvented version of Thorn and Grace where they have with fangs. Not having read the original story, I cannot draw comparisons. However, this one had plenty of thrills and enough backstory to leave the reader feeling satisfied that they got a complete story as opposed to feeling bereft like the morning after a one-night stand. Grace is dealt a super raw deal for over two hundred years of her life. Thorn has spent that time thinking she left him at the altar while also searching for her. After their reunion, they are forced to fight those that would try to keep them apart. This is one fairytale where the happily ever after is not guaranteed until the last page.

The second novella is the story of Patrick Sinclair and his quest to claim his queen. In spite of the fact that Patrick was supposedly crazy in love with his queen, he was very mean, almost cruel, to her at times. In his desperation to have her at his side, he went to extreme measures to coerce her into staying as opposed to telling her how he felt. However, once she realizes all of his actions have been to get and keep her at his side, she willingly chooses to pledge her life and love to him.

As usual, H K-W does not disappoint.

This was a great book. It is actually two separate stories. The main one is called "Thorn and Grace." It is a love story that spans across time and is of course about vampires. The second story is "Relentless" and it is also about a vampire. It's darker than the first one and shorter, but takes place in modern times.

Both stories are well written with just enough detail to know what is going on, but not too much to distract from the actual story line. I liked that they weren't the typical vampire stories. They have a little something extra and are told from different POV's so while the first story is in the 3rd person, the second story is 1st person.

The men in each story are alphas but that doesn't mean that the women in their lives are just going to be meek and passive. They have fire and drive that fleshes out the characters of the books. If you like vampires, romance, and a well written story, then I would recommend this book and the author.

I received a copy of "Vampire, Vampire" from Heather Killough-Walden as a gift. I just wanted to say thank you to her much for "Vampire, Vampire".
I enjoyed reading these two vampire romance novellas. It has been awhile since I read a vampire romance book and these two were definitely a delight to read. =)
The first story is "Thorn and Grace"...I was mesmerized by the historical and vampire romance that was created. This was a book about two friends who became lovers, but of course before the happily ever after could happen...something bad happened to Christopher Thorn's bride to be, Darianna Grace. A very determined lover...he searched for her, but when he did, she did not recognize him. Now he's determined to find out what happened to her and get her back to the realm that they are supposed to live.
More twists to the fairytale that was supposed to be a happily ever after...throw in the fact that both Thorn and Darianna Grace are royalty and are vampires. There's also a bad guy in the minced and he's not your normal bad guy either.
"Thorn and Grace" is full of action, love, and passion...and a very mean bad guy who is really dark and twisted. I still can't believe what he did.
The second story is "Relentless", and it is about Patrick Sinclaire...but he's not your normal rich guy...he's actually a Vampire. He's not just any Vampire though because he's also known as the "Vampire King." He has actually found his queen and he wants to claim her, but he is kind of reluctant to do it. His sisters actually get involved to push him to claim his queen because it has been way too long for the vampires. They need their queen. Of course the person who is supposed to be Patrick's queen doesn't even know of the existence of Vampires and she's not really willing to give up her humanity right away.
"Relentless" is full of a intense suspenseful story that definitely captured my attention.
Sometimes the dark and mean characters, like Patrick always capture my attention though.
I recommend this book to any vampire romance reader out there and even to the readers who enjoy the historical thrown into a story. You will definitely enjoy these two short stories that Heather has created.
I really enjoyed both stories....but "Relentless" got my heart pounding a little more. I do enjoy though Christopher Thorn in the first story. *sigh* He was very determined to find out what happened to his love, Darianna Grace.
Thank you again to Heather Killough-Walden for gifting me a copy. I can't wait to dive into your next books. =)

Vampire, Vampire is a book that contains two totally different vampire stories by Heather Killough-Walden. They aren’t connected in any way, including the eras that they take place. The mythology and characters that are involved in these stories give readers an idea of the scope and imagination of the author.

Thorn and Grace is the first story featured in Vampire, Vampire. It is the ‘sweeter’ of the two stories, but it doesn’t lack in romance or danger. This historical PNR is an emotional roller coaster. Thorn spends over a century trying to find the love of his life after she leaves him for no apparent reason. The story takes many twists and turns. Grace spends those years apart from Thorn on her own mission. This is pretty much an edge-of-your seat read that is long enough to be satisfying but not so long that you have no problem not putting it down until you’re finished. Although the story comes to a surprising and satisfying end, I’d love to get more from these characters.

Relentless: The Patrick Sinclaire Story is a modern tale. If you’ve read any of Heather Killough-Walden’s previous works you’re familiar with her ability to muddy the waters between good and evil. There are characters in her Big Bad Wolf Series that I loathed when they were introduced and later in the series I ended up loving. That’s the way of the alpha male. They are ruthless, relentless and fierce, yet with those they care about those same qualities are what make them so loyal. This pretty much sums up Patrick. His desperation in claiming what he is afraid to lose brings out traits in him that terrify his would be queen, yet continue to draw her to him. The entire story is written from the POV of the female who was thrown into a world she knew nothing about until she met Patrick and his sisters. That in itself made reading it even more intense.

Of the two books, Relentless is definitely the most erotic, though neither one are lacking in the romance department. They are both intense and graphic and not for the faint of heart…. or for those who blush easily. If, however, you are a fan of true alpha males that tend cross the thin line between good and evil… Enjoy!

Vampire, Vampire is composed of 2 short stories. The first one Thorn and Grace is a beautiful fairytale about a prince, Christopher Thorn, and a princess, Darianna Grace, who grow up together and fall in love and promise themselves to each other. Christopher and Darianna are from a world where at their maturity they become vampires and live for several hundred years. On the eve of their wedding, Darianna disappears and Christopher goes after her. After traveling through various worlds in search of her, Christopher ends up on the opposing side of Darianna in a world in which rebels, led by Darianna, are trying to overthrow a corrupt government. Once they are reunited they figure out the reason for Darianna’s disappearance and must face a truly malevolent opponent who will stop at nothing to destroy them both.
I really enjoyed this story, I loved the characters and I loved their romance. I also really enjoyed the departure from the classic vampire, instead of the typical blood sucking vampires, these ones are a race of people naturally born that way that still drink blood, have the heightened speed and senses but are naturally born this way. I also liked the fantasy nature of it with the different worlds, races, and magic.
The second short story is called Relentless: The Patrick Sinclaire Story and it is very different from Thorn and Grace. Relentless takes place in modern times and is narrated in the first person by the “latent” that Patrick Sinclaire so ruthlessly pursues. Patrick is a billionaire vampire king who has been around for centuries leading the vampire alone while searching for his vampire queen. When Patrick finds her she denies her destiny vehemently and fights him every step of the way.
This was the shorter of the two stories and I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been longer with more interaction between the two lead characters. However, I still thoroughly enjoyed this story as well. This story is quite different from Thorn and Grace and is very steamy and erotic, it kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.
I highly recommend these stories and anything else from this author!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is actually two novellas in one. The first one, the author describes as paranormal fantasy romance and is titled, “Thorn and Grace”. It is about a race of beings which are most similar to vampires in that they drink blood and are extremely long lived. Christopher Thorn is the prince of one kingdom and is betrothed to Darianna Grace who is the beloved princess of another, but on the night of their wedding, Darianna is missing. Her carriage arrives, but sans Darianna. Christopher believes that his Anna has run from him and he spends the next many (many, many) years searching for her. And suddenly he finds her! The rest of the story is what follows when Christopher finds the woman who broke his heart. Loved it! Paranomal fantasy romance? Please, sir, can I have some more?

The next novella was titled “Relentless: The Patrick Sinclair Story”. I loved this one less that the first one. It is about a girl who finds herself in a heap of trouble after meeting the billionaire, Patrick Sinclair. I don’t think I can say much more about this one because everything else would contain a spoiler. You learn a lot throughout the entire story (as opposed to keeping all the secrets looked up tight until the end). The author does put a disclaimer in the synopsis saying, “Don't read it if you're expecting the development of an extremely deep and meaningful relationship in less than 80 pages.” I liked aspects of it, but I think I would have liked it better if Patrick got to know his lady-fair a little bit better.

As most reviewers have said, Vampire, Vampire is a compilation of 2 short stories. So this will be a 2 part review.

Thorn & Grace. What a great story. I didn’t want to put it down.

The Empyrean King, King Christopher Thorn and Princess of Lundarien, Darianna Grace were soul mates, having grown up together becoming best friends, lovers and on their way to getting married. But on her way to the ceremony, Anna disappears from not only Christopher, but from her home land. Devastated, King Thorn sets out to search for his missing love and bring her back.

The story of Thorn & Grace had so much heartbreak, betrayal, love, passion and a whole lot of action. The loves scenes were sizzling hot. For a short story, Heather did such a great job portraying the love that Thorn has, which carried him and pushed him to search for Anna, no matter what.

Relentless is the second short story. Shorter than the first novella. But highly erotic throughout. Well written. Heather managed to put everything in such a short story that makes it so sizzling to read. Action, romance, hot sizzling sex and an actual story to boot. It’s fast paced and very hard to put down.

The love scenes were definitely erotic and it made my blood rush. The only thing I might change is to suggest that it should have been longer. Too, too short.

I highly recommend both of them. If you’re looking for something to read that isn’t long but still has everything that a novel has, then I recommend Vampire, Vampire.

This book was comprised of two stories.
The first was about Thorn and Grace.
The story was...ok.
The villian, Rafe, it was hard for me to see or understand his 200 year-old vendetta.
It just seemed a bit far fetched.
He wanted revenge on someone who did not do anything to him.
His father was a spy, something that he volunteered for and died for and Rafe wanted to exact revenge
but he took it out on Grace, an innocent unsuspecting victum.
It just seemed rather pointless and over blown.
Then, when Grace and Thorn escaped imprisonment, instead of them calling up a portal and getting
the heck out of dodge, they stop to make out and get caught unaware, again...

The second story , Relentless: The Patrick Sinclaire Story
I did not like it at all.
I did not like any of the characters.
Patrick Sinclaire claimed to have loved the main female lead but he did not act like it.
He watched her for months, um ok,
He is old as dirt, but acted like he was in High School.
Did it ever occur to him to ask her out on a date, you know woo her? Nope, I guess not.
He acted like a barbaric jerk.
His sisters were crazy, they kidnap her and then try to act like her besties, really?
How does stalking and kidnapping equal BFFs??

I know this was written over eight years ago and it was the Author's firt stories,
but it could have been way better.

Vampire Vampire consists of two short stories that HKW wrote awhile ago, before her excellent Big Bad Wolf series and within the two stories you can see where her ideas for the series came from.

Thorne and Grace is a love story of two vampires who are soul mates and tragically become separated for a long two hundred years and with determination and faith, there is hope that they will find each other again and right all the wrongs that happened during their time apart.

Relentless: The Patrick Sinclaire story is about another tortured soul who has been waiting for years for one female to come into his life and be by his side as his Queen. Although forced into the situation, he finds the one and will do anything to help her transition into his world and rule by his side.

HKW has a writing style that takes the reader in to a wonderful world with vibrant characters that the reader can instantly connect with. These two stories have sexy dominant men with tormented souls and passionate tension in abundance. What is there not to like?

There are 2 stories in this book: Thorn and Grace & Relentless: The Patrick Sinclaire Story

The first book is about Princess Drianna Grace and Prince Christopher Thorn. This is a good fairytale story with a vampire twist. Thorn is handsome, strong, wise and ever loyal (hey the guy did search for her for 2 centuries!). Anna is beautiful, wise, elusive and with a big heart. They're perfect for each other. I love happily ever after endings. However, I felt that the story was rushed. I wanted a full book for this!!!

The second book is about The Vampire King Patrick Sinclaire and his queen .. er .. I dont know her name. Well it started out intriguing, but the end for me was like "that's it?". It was waaaay short. It was "King searching for his queen, King finds queen, King captures queen's heart, vampire kingdom lives happil ever after". Hmmmmm, oh well, I still love Heather's books!!!

This book was hard to put down, and yet there was so much going on in my life that I had to. Even so, it continued to perform till the end. The storyline of both of the two stories in the book were excellent for me. Book one was not as edited as I would have liked, which did manage to distract me from the story, and I found that a little annoying, for that reason, and that alone I gave book one, 4.5 stars.

Book two was exceptional, and I truly enjoyed myself when reading it. I was swept away by the story and into there world, fully immersed - just the way I love my escapism to be.

This book I gave 5 stars too.

This is another one of Heather Killough-Walden's wonderful creations! In the beginning of the book she warns to get used to the edge of your seat, and I was totally there the whole time I read these stories!!! I absolutely loved Darianna and Christopher's story a love once lost now found! It was great and not even a dull second in the story. The Patrick Sinclair story was just as awesome a king finally finding his queen after centuries of searching. I love vampires and she made these stories a wonderful experience!! A must must read just like the rest of her books. She is one of the BEST paranormal romance writers out there!!! Never disappointed with her work!!!

5 Stars for Thorn & Grace - the 1st story. I loved it! It was well written, very well paced, the characters were vivid. I was very pleasantly surprised.

1 Star for the 2nd. Not my cup of tea. The author stated that this story was one of her 1st books, and you can definitely tell the difference in the quality of writing between the 1st story and the 2nd. Something about Patrick Sinclair really irritated me. I actually didn't like any of the characters in this one at all, and some of the situations in this story are just...weird. In fact, the whole story was just "off" in my opinion.

Two very different but equally exciting stories. They both draw you in right away. Heather gives you a complete picture of each character even with limited pages. I want to read the continued stories of both Christopher and Darianna and Patrick and his queen.

Found the first story a bit confusing to start with because of the characters names: title, first name and surname - and depending who was speaking they would refer to the same character with different names. Overall liked the stories and they were quite griping.
