I hope the rogue Mogadorian they're talking about is Adamus. I like that guy.

***

Are you kidding me? Another cliffhanger? ANOTHER freaking cliffhanger??? When I started I was deliriously happy. There I was dancing around like it was an actual person whose not-being-smashed-to-a-complete-pulp I was celebrating, while my mother stared at me like I was crazy. Then I got to the part where things started to get bad (I knew they would but I didn't want them to) and I thought, "It's okay, Adamus will find a way to fix this. He always does." And he did. Sort of. All this time I wondered when they would find Sam. Or even mention him. That took a while though. It was practically near the end. Which raises the question, "Why on Earth is the book called The Search for Sam and not The Life and Times of a Mogadorian Traitor, or some other, more accurate title?"
The book was well-written, the characters and plot interesting enough that I finished it in one sitting. It helped that I was familiar with the characters and the plot of the last book. It was nice that Adamus found a mentor in Malcolm Goode. The ending, however, irked me. Not much. I understand that in real life, confronting your evil adoptive brother who tried to kill you may not be that dramatic. But come on, this is a book. Why must you make the ending so painfully abrupt? And how long do I have to wait this time before finding out whether Adamus is alive or not? He's one of my favourite characters. And he doesn't annoy me as much as Number Four does, either.

So. That was... okay. But still awesome seeing Sam only for a little bit. Can book four hurry up please?

The Search for Sam is the fourth novella of Pittacus Lore’s Lorien Legacies: The Lost Files, which continues Adam’s (or Adamus’s) adventure after he was nearly killed and abandoned by his father at the end of the third novella, The Fallen Legacies. We follow his living in Africa (where Swahili is spoken – Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Uganda – there somewhere), back to the Mogadorian estate and his home, and through to the army base in Mexico in which we were introduced to in The Rise of Nine as Adam resists against his race’s endeavours and save the Garde. Along the way we learn the whereabouts of Sam’s father as well as Sam himself. It was nice to see Sam appear again since he’s my favourite character in the series. As I said with the previous novella, the next instalment of the Lorien Legacies is sure to be a game changer with the professional debut of Adam in the series and I’m looking forward to seeing him interact with the Garde members he has yet to meet.

“Besides, I don’t want to run from my own people anymore. I want to kill them” Adam is such a beautiful character. I just love him so much. He's so kickass when he develops One's legacy but yet he is caring for her. I was almost crying when she left him forever. It's just not fair and she needs to be brought back in the next book just so he can be with her. I loved his character development throughout his journey. At first he was loyal to his people, then he grew to question them, then to knowing they needed to be stopped. Also how he thought himself to be weak and useless but One taught him to know how special and great he actually is. Adam is such an amazing character and I love everything about him. I cannot express that enough.

Now this one I really liked. It’s more Adam than Sam, but I’m really enjoying both of those side characters. I’m sure this series was written with different author’s for different installments, but this one I flew through.

¡Bien hecho!

I will live.

COOL PHRASE.

In short, totally awesome!! :)) #_#

Search for Sam was the best lost files so far. Adamus' character is one of the best things the writer did with the series (In fact, Adamus right now is behind Number 9 as my favorite male character. Though nobody can't beat Six's character :P). Before Adamus, I thought all Mogs were just an endless amount of nameless faceless emotionless murderers, nothing more. Adamus' story changed that. While the book didn't focus much on what I was excited before about it (Sam) it was still beyond my expectations.

IF anything it should have been named The Hero-Enemy or Fallen Hero something because basically the part where the search for Sam began only the lasted 10 pages AND all the legacy books were about the origin of the different Gardes. Only, in this book Adamus became half garde-ish with him getting One's first and disappointingly shown legacy.

If you didn't think getting the e-books is worth it so far, you have got to read this and its prequel The Fallen Legacies.

Adam, the rogue Mogadorian who has become sympathetic to the Loric after spending some quality time with One's memories, has survived and is reluctantly returning to the war.

His journey takes him back to the Mogadorian compound where he pretends to seek redemption, while he is searching for a way to keep One "alive".

I'm really enjoying this world and my only issue with the story was that it ends in another cliffhanger!

Looking forward to seeing what happens to Adam next, but will enjoy the short stories that follow in the meantime, with The Last Days of Lorien and a glimpse of Lorien before the Mogadorian invasion coming next.

Review:

Oh wow, oh wow! I know the next installment in the Lorien Legacies series isn't out 'til August but I am stoked! This spin-off has got my heart pumping blood like never before! Reading the summary months ago, I thought this book was going to be about Adamus and Malcolm Goode and I was right!
Set in the middle of I Am Number Four and later, The Rise of Nine it tells us what else has been happening while the Garde are busy wiping out the Mogadorian race. It answers a few minor questions from the story and even explains how the Mogs track down the Garde quickly.
This is probably one of-if not- the best Lost Files spin-offs so far. And the ending- oh the ending!- will leave you satisfied and will keep you wanting for that fourth book to come. C'mon, August!

EEP! The rogue Mog is probably Adamus! And the Amnesiac is Sam's dad! Just my thoughts

Well Adamus is my favorite character. I guess the author is better at writing grey characters than the Loric. Damn, One

Oh dear Adam! I am so proud of you. You're so cool! I found him so interesting here rather than the previous books.

This book or rather some of these short stories are starting to look like one book that has been split up into chunks. Because usually these type of short stories are just background to the main book, but this is something you should be reading.

Sigh... so now Sam has been reduced to a character whose fate will only be revealed in these stupid e-books. Seriously. Would it have killed Pittacus Lore to have actually had some freaking plot resolution in Rise of Nine? Or does he not have the necessary Legacy for that? Honestly...

⭐ 4.5 estrellas.

I recently finished this fantastic story. Who knew that a reader can grow so attached to a Mogadorian? The book was written very well and I loved the character development in this short story. One of my favorite things about reading this story was the relationship between One/Adamus. There was a particular scene in the story where it just makes a person want to cry because of the events that unfolds. The appearance of Malcom Goode was a surprise and even more when Sam made a reappearance. There is a cliff hanger at the end, so I'm ready for whatever is next.

The only thing I didn't like about this book was the cliffhanger it ends with!!!
I'm so glad that Sam is alive and so is his dad, Malcom.
The ending upset me because I have grown so fond of Adamus and I'm hoping he does survive. I cannot WAIT for the new book to be released and to learn what happens!!
I thought the book was awesome, filled with action that always kept you wanting to find out more.

One of the best story lines in the history of I Am Number Four. It was so damn touching. At first I was like what? This Mogadorian again? but then it justified itself and brought a heart-wrenching story of an outcast, like most readers are.

Once again! Another awesome audiobook in the Lorien Legacies series!

In this book, we are back in Adam’s, the good Mogodorian, point of view.

This follows the journey of Adam and Malcolm Goode while they are searching for San after they find out he’s been captured by the bad Mogadorians!

I was a little more bored with this story line than the others, but it was still good!!!

Adam is probably my favourite character in the series. I'm a sucker for bad guys turned good. Also, I thought the non-romance between him and One was more romantic than John and Sarah's and Six and Sam's.

I really enjoyed reading it. One of the best Lost Files, I've read - the story told by Adamus in the very beginning annoyed me, but right now I really started to like this guy. I can highly recommend it!

I liked that this was a continuation of Adam's story and how it intertwined with the main plotline, but to be honest Malcolm was always kind of a boring character to me...
