No one ever tells you to be careful who you give the first piece of your heart to. No one warns you about the dangers of a first crush and that seemingly innocent love. But they should. Because you never know when that love might resurface and haunt your dreams . . .
Leah cannot help it. No matter where she has been in her life, she has always wondered “what might have been” with her first crush. She had given the first piece of her heart to Cade Emerson and never got it back. Leah had wanted him to be her first kiss. Instead, he was her first heartbreak.
Cade never forgot Leah either. Letting her go was one of the stupidest things he had ever done, and he’d done a lot. Now with his life back on track, Cade would do just about anything for a second chance.
When fate reunites them, their friendship is rekindled and passion flares. But their new relationship comes about in a way neither of them expected, and reality conspires to keep them apart.
Will they find a way to be together or are they destined to live separate lives?
Cade and Leah have the kind of story and relationship that you just love and want more of. I loved this book, mostly because the main theme of this book is something unique that I have never read before and I won't give away the secrets here! Throughout the whole story you meet characters that are well developed and that you would like to be friends with. This story in a little bit romance, a little bit spicy and a little bit mystery. This book is highly recommended if you need a quickly, light-hearted book to get lost in. The author, Sara Miller, is SO sweet! I have only ever met her online but I can't wait to meet her in person one day and have her sign my copy of her debut novel!
Definitely a different type of romance- I liked that; spice level was 🥵 and I liked the characters but felt a little Hallmark-y, not my usual go-to. There were a few unanswered questions and I’m glad I read it but felt unfinished, thus the 4 stars
