Steam: 3.5/5. Strong Language: 3/5. Plot: 4/5. Characters: 4/5.
Triggers: Child Abuse, Violence, Loss of Loved One, Grief, Stalking, DP

This was the first book in a series, about the Far Realms, by Miranda May. She is a new author who nailed her debut with style.

The heroine of this epic tale is Hadley, a young woman grieving the loss of her mother. Her mediocre life is interrupted one night by a stranger who claims that Hadley doesn't actually belong in this dreary existence after all. She is the long lost, prophesied Queen of the Fae. Unfortunately, the grass doesn't turn out to be greener in her realm. She faces a whole new set of challenges.

Four young men are sent to aid Hadley in her plight. They are the four Heirs of the Fae Royal Courts, both Seelie and Unseelie: Spring, Summer, Autumn, & Winter. Marcos is the dashing charmer. Camden is the snarky, yet protective flirt. Kai is the quiet soul with a compassionate heart. Hunter is seemingly aloof but with a depth of hidden feelings.

Not everyone in Sorlphi is pleased to hear of the new Queen's return. She faces challenges, threats, and deceit from both within and without the palace walls. Can she put her faith in these men? Will she be safe until her training is complete? What happened to the former Queen? How will she know whom to trust when even her own body is changing?

This was an excellent debut novel. The world building was excellent and well thought out. The characters were intriguing and stick with you after the story. I can't wait to find out what happens next. It does end on a cliffhanger but not a horrible one. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

5 ⭐ I loved it. I’ll revisit it like an old friend. This book is moving right into my favorites category. I would recommend it to everyone, even people that don’t ask. I’ll one click this author’s work in the future.
4 ⭐ A great read. I’ll probably reread again when feeling nostalgic. It was enjoyable, not portable magic. I would recommend it.
3 ⭐ I liked it. It was a nice way to pass the time. I doubt I’ll reread it. I’d recommend it to someone asking for a specific genre. Thanks for the memories.
2 ⭐ I completed the Herculean task of finishing this book. At times, it felt like I was Prometheus and the suffering would never end. It just wasn’t for me but I applaud the author for their effort.
1 ⭐ I couldn’t finish this book or I wish I hadn't finished. How do I put this? It’s not me, it’s you.

This is a new author and I loved this story. It had steam, betrayal, fantasy, and emotional issues and content. I was immediately drawn into the story of Hadley and her four fae men. They were in charge if pushing Hadley out of the fae realm and making sure she did not become the new queen but Hadley was a strong character and refused to quit or be scared. This book was exciting and steamy and I really liked all of the characters. It does end in a slight cliff-hanger and I cannot wait to read he next book to find out what happens. I received a review copy of this story and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

I am soo excited about this series, Miranda did an amazing job with her world building, and being her first book! Now onto the actual review-

I will admit that the beginning of this book may seem daunting, it's filled with a lot of information. BUT, it's important for the storyline and so you can understand what's going on. Basically it goes hand in hand with the world building that Miranda does for us. Once you're past this information you will not want to put this book down for a minute!

Our FMC Hadley has gone through so much recently, after the loss of her mother she is a bit down when a stranger interrupts her life. While being told that she is the long lost Queen of the Fae. She quickly realizes that even though her life wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, this new realm isn't as fabulous as this stranger makes it believe. Hadley has to literally hit the ground running with learning all of the things she has to for her new role, in her new life.

She has four men who are sent to "help" her in her new life, but of course this isn't the whole truth. These men are the four Heirs of the Fae Royal Courts, Seelie and Unseelie, Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter. Marcos- the charmer, Camden- protective, snarky, Kai- quiet but compassionate, and Hunter- stand offlish, broody. At the end of the book, I wasn't too happy with any of these guys but before the "happening" I like Kai the most.

The jury is still out on the women that have entered Hadley's life with everything going on, I'm a bit apprehensive on trusting them completely. In Sorlphi, which is the new realm that Hadley is now in, she isn't just faced with her new role. She's got threats, challenges, deceit, not sure who's a true friend or foe. She also is not truly welcomed, some of the people aren't happy with her return to the realm. You'll find out exactly why when you read this book!

There are so many things changing, it would make anyone's head spin. The cliffhanger isn't truly "brutal" maybe a 6/10, but it's still not wonderful. It's more of a heart shattering, what the actual H E L L just happened moment. I'm super excited for book 2 and can't wait to see what happens next!

Triggers to be aware of: Child Abus3, Vio1ence, Loss of Loved One, Grief, Sta!k!ng, Betrayal

I don’t know! And that’s so frustrating! I liked this book. There were just aspects of it that frustrated me.

For one, The author lets us know at the start that there is a lot of information at the beginning of the book which is great. I do feel that the information could have come out over time but that’s my personal opinion. Unfortunately, because of the massive information dump at the start of it, it made reading the insane amount of internal dialogue exhausting.A lot of it was repetitive like Kai’s back story. Not sure why Kai’s back story had to be told three separate times. Once in Kai’s internal dialogue then in Caiden’s internal dialogue and finally when Kai tells Hadley. Once I read it the first time I basically skipped over the other two helpings of it. Seemed unnecessary.

Another thing that seemed completely ignored was the fact that after Library incident Caiden says he won’t kiss her again until she asked him too and only a few pages later he’s kissing her senseless, and she never asked for it….?

It’s also seems like Adeline is the bad guy working with one of the guys fathers (based on her dislike of Hunter my guess is Gabe) because she seems extremely fake and for Hadley to have no experience in friendships to just accept her as one based on the little interactions they have seems stupid on her part. She’s supposed to be this great new friend but she’s hardly in the book. Pretty sure she’s the backstabber.

There is so much internal dialog but there are a lot of things that aren’t fleshed out well also. The side adventure the guys went on for Hunters siblings. Why didn’t he think of getting them away until it was dire? The characters seem to have trauma but lack actual depth. Then at the end she refuses to hear out any of the guys, even Kai which is essentially like a slap in the face because he has been nothing but good to her and wasn’t involved in the video. Idk I guess I like the idea of the story but it was a bit of an irritating read to be honest. I don’t think I want to read about her continuing to refuse to hear the guys out and trying to be a bad ass queen without using logic.

I received an ARC copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.

The first maybe 5 chapters I wasn't sure I'd like this book, it just wasn't grabbing me and I picked it up and put it down a few times over a couple of days. I decided to give it a few more chapters and holy cow am I glad I did as it grabbed me by the throat and didn't let go and I couldn't put it down till I finished it!

The characters were well built and I really did bond with them. I felt their fear, anger, pain, love along with them it was like a roller coaster I didn't want to get off. It also meant for me that the already excellently written spicy scenes got better as the book went on as you were invested in the characters. The spicy scenes in this book were A+ and I loved the mix of MM/MF/MFM and the way the polyam relationship style was portrayed. I also loved the LGBTQIA references in the book.

The fae world the author has built is quite complex but it was cleverly done that it sort of skimmed over the outline so we had an overview without wasting time on information that wasn't pertinent to the events of this book. I liked that and assume as the book series grows we will learn more about the world.

I'm currently suffering a rare for me "book hangover" where I'm still stuck in the book I've finished and mourning it's end to the point I can't face starting a new one yet. This will definitely be going on a re-read list for me.

Genre
Why choose? (Previously referred to as RH) , polyam romance, close proximity, enemies to lovers, LGBTQIA (Includes MM)

Trigger warnings
Explicit language, adult sexual contact, previous suicide attempt referenced, parental abuse of child (non sexual) also continues into adulthood, loss of a loved one, group sex Inc DP

Before I start my review I would like to give a reader's advice to anyone who will read this review: the start of the book is slow with lots of history and thus harder to read BUT if you can get past this you will be rewarded with an ‼️AMAZING book‼️Trust me on this.
Now for the review. I loved Hadley, she is so strong and has a heart in the right place. She will be an amazing queen. She went through so much and at the end my heart broke for her. 💔
Then there is Kai, my sweet Kai, I really hope he will heg his justice, his revenge and I wish Hadley to forgive him first and long before the others, he deserves it the most.
Hunter, I know he is hurting and had a hard life but he has a lot to account for. And I don't know if Hadley can trust him.
Lastly Maros and Cade, I get why they acted like this but they still should tell Hadley what's going on.
I don't know if Grace and Adalaide are to be trusted, but I really hope so, because I don't think Hadley could make it if they would betray her.
Oh and how I hope Gabe and Kam get what they deserve or better something hundreds times worse. I can't wait to see them pay. 😈
The cliffhanger wasn't a bad one but it still made me want to get my hands on the sequel ASAP. I can't wait to read what's next and see what the boys will do to make Hadley trust them again.
I'm giving this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ just because I have a feeling I will need the 5th start for the next book.
Miranda did an amazing job with her first book and I'm looking forward to reading more from her.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention how hot some of the scenes were 🔥🔥🔥

Hadley's world is turned upside down and twisted around a few times when a woman walks up to her in an alley and transfers her to the fae realm to become their lost fae queen. Leaving behind the only world she's ever known isn't easy, even though she soon realises she never really fit in there. Still, two weeks to learn everything there is to know about the fae isn't much, even with the help of four handsome men...

Silent Secrets is the first book by Miranda May, and it's a very decent debut. I enjoyed the characters, the connections between the men that were already present and the way Hadley gradually fits in with them. I like the intrigue, not really knowing who is trustworthy and the original world of seelie and unseelie. I had a hard time with the first part of the book though; it felt like the entire worldbuilding had to fit within the first 25% of the book. Even though it fit with the story, I had a hard time pulling through it all. It is worth it, there is definitely enough plot and character development to keep the story interesting, but it did make me decide to keep my rating at four stars.

I would definitely suggest to give this new author a chance. For those who've been a part of the RH community her name will definitely ring a bell, but I'm sure we'll hear a lot more from her in the future. This first book ends perfectly to wet my appetite for the next one, so I'm certain I'm going to check it out once it's released.

What an amazing debut novel ‼️💯🔥 I've always enjoyed reading stories with Fae, their courts, and how they are broken into the Seelie and UnSeelie. The fmc, Hadley, isn't some meek girl to be messed with and I can't wait to see how she handles it all once this trilogy is completed. The guys, Marcos, Caiden, Kai, and Hunter are perfect for her imo. That's all I have to say about them because I don't want to do spoilers😁. There is Grace and her "human" daughter Adaline. I really like Grace and believe she is totally #teamHadley. Adaline just gives me the creeps because I personally think her friendship with Hadley is fake as fuck. Pretty sure she has an obsession with Hunter that no one else is seeing. Maybe I'm wrong and she really is a good friend... but for some reason I'm super doubtful. I'm crossing my fingers 🤞for these 4 guys and Hadley. The guys have some work to do for sure, but I can sympathize with what was happening and the reasoning for certain behaviors. I know they can fix and redeem themselves!!! Hmmm... some of this could slightly be spoiler-ish. So I'll mark it as such. Oh!!! The MM in this is pretty hot 🔥 🥵. So if you enjoy rh, mm, and fae you totally need to read this. And as always read the authors note before beginning in case anything is triggering to you.

First of all this was my first book from Miranda May and the world building in Silent secrets absolutely blew me out of the water! There’s a lot of info in the beginning, but that info is so necessary for the world building and story line further on!
Hadley- the female main character has had so much going on her her life from her mother dying to her finding out she’s the Queen of the Fae. Hadley then moves to the fae realm where she finds that even though her life back in the human realm wasn’t great all the time, she has a lot to learn in order to keep her head above the water here in the fae realm. Hadley shows her strength throughout the books when she continues to push through and makes her a very strong female main character.
The four heirs of the different seasonal courts are sent to help Hadley adjust to her new life in the fae realm. The charmer Marcos, the snarky and protective Camden, the quiet and compassionate Kai, and the broody bad boy type Hunter. And these boys royally mess up with Hadley at the end to the point where I don’t think I could pick a favorite of them right now even if I tried.

Small cliffhanger warning wasn’t a too terrible hanging off the edge ending, but it definitely leaves you wondering what’s going to happen in book two.

One of my favourite things about doing book reviews is when I get the opportunity to read new authors first books. Silent Secrets is one of those new books that just hits me in all the right places. From the fae changeling FMC, to the four very different MMC'S, the world building, the side characters, the bad guys - all of it, just really got me in a good way. I loved the story and the wee threads and breadcrumbs that pop in and out. With the fae courts having an aristocracy, there are almost Bridgerton vibes but also the whole someone new coming in and wanting to challenge the whole thing. This is a spicy tale and I thoroughly enjoyed that aspect of it, the chemistry is off the charts (yes even with the grumpy Alpha hole) the tension is intense and the climaxes certainly satisfy. There is a mild cliffhanger but a lot of unanswered questions and I'm going to be cheering this new author on to keep going, because she is a wonderful new voice!

Hadley had a hard life. Her mother had just been in remission from cancer when she was hit by a drunk driver I'm a hit and run. Months after that, as she was walking home she was taken by a strange woman. When she awakens she's in a different world entirely. There she learns that she's a changeling and is actually the future fae queen. In just 2 weeks she will turn 21 and her magic will be revealed. Over the time the 4 heirs of the minor courts have been sent to teach her about sorlphi and what is expected of her. Does she have what it takes to become the next fae queen? Can she trust these men with not only her body, but also her heart? Read on to find out. This book does deal with heavy themes such as abuse, child abuse, violence, sexual themes, and suicidal ideation. Excited to see what happens next in book 2.

Silent Secrets is the first book that I have read of Miranda May’s. It also happens to be her debut book as well. And she came out of the gate swinging and not pulling any punches.

💜 why choose paranormal romance
💜 mystery
💜 magic
💜 🌶🌶🌶 spice

Hadley is our FMC who is just trying to live her life. She’s had a rough life and often felt like she didn’t fit in with the rest of the world and her mom was recently killed. Then she’s thrust into a new life and world and everything she knows is flipped on its head. To top it off, she has to learn all about this new life from four handsome as sin men. Through in some mystery and some threats, and you have one heck of a new series.

I can’t wait for the next book and Silent Secrets ends with a bit of a cliffhanger. There are so many different things that are happening and I can’t wait to see where it all leads.

Omg!!! Miranda! I loved every minute of Silent Secrets. I could not put it down, I needed to know what was going to happen next. The world building and character development was amazing. There is a lot of information thrown at you in the beginning but trust me when I suggest that you do not let this throw you off this book. Because Honey! You will miss out since after all of that information the story picks up.
The FMC, Hadley is a strong woman and even though her world has been turned upside down, it doesn’t break her. Her guys; Kai, Hunter, Marcos and Caiden are delicious. Oh! And there is spice and MM, all of it was hot! If you enjoy a good spicy reverse harem book with a strong FMC, four hot men, some MM, great writing and about Fae; this is the book for you. You will devour it just like it did. I cannot recommend this book enough!

Hadley always thought she was a little bit different. But finding out that she is not human but Fae and destined to be the next Fae Queen wasn't exactly what she had in mind.

Pulled into the Fae world a few weeks before her 21st birthday, she has the four sexy Lords from the four Fae Courts to train her in everything she needs to know to be Queen. Will these handsome and charming Fae help her or stop her from becoming the Queen she was destined to be?

Silent Secrets is the first book in the Fae Realm series and Miranda May smashes it out of the park. Magic, mystery, revenge and all the hot and steam, this is an amazing book start to finish. The Fae Lords are as funny, brooding and sexy as you could want and there is some MM thrown in there too as an added bonus. With some unexpected turns and a medium burn that delivers all the spice you could want, this is a definite 5 stars.

Fantastic

This is a fantastic debut novel for Miranda May! It is original and there was great world building but because of this there is a lot of information thrown at you at the start. I definitely recommend that you don't let this throw you because after that the story picks up and becomes an amazing read. Hadley is amazing and even though her world has been turned upside down she never comes across as anything but strong. She has four sexy men and there is much steam. I love how the guys already have a string bond and how they are so different from each other. I love the multiple points of view. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next one!

Debuting author nailed it!

I can’t believe this is Miranda May’s first book. And I know that several people, Miranda included, have said there’s a lot of information in the beginning part of the book. I don’t have to say it’s necessary because everyone else said that. What I will say is that I truly enjoyed that information, and I don’t think it really was a lot. The storytelling is great, the plot is fantastic, the characters have depth, and I can’t wait to see more of this world. The spicy scenes get their own 5 stars from me, because they were so hot. I may need a cold shower.
Miranda, I loved the beginning of this series, and I look forward to seeing your career flourish. Well done! I’m hooked.

Miranda May has a winner in Silent Secrets. This gripping tale will grab hold of you until the last page. A slow burn reverse harem that introduces to Hadley and the 4 men who are destined to be her mates, or are they? This is the first book in the Secrets of Sorlphi Series.
What does a girl do when she finds out her whole life has been a lie? She accepts her Fate and acknowledges that she is the new Fae Queen and needs to save the her Kingdom.
This paranormal romance has it all, danger and deception, new friends and enemies, and lots of steamy sexy times.
For her first novel, Miranda May has struck gold.

Well this book intrigued me from the first time reading the blurb. I just really wanted to read it. The first few chapters were a little hard to get through but after that it caught me and I couldn't put it down. I love an original plot and this was that for sure. There are triggers for sure so do read the triggers before deciding to read but what you get in return is something absolutely amazing. Finding out you are a queen from a realm you know nothing of and now learning you are challenged every step of the way. Luckily there are fae to help the new queen. These men will help her for sure but who can see trust when even she doubts herself. This is a fantastic debut you must read!

What an ending first off!!! Book 2 needs to get here FAST! No pressure to the author or anything but DANG!!! WHY did you do us like that???

Okay, so these book grabbed me from the first chapter and didn't let go. I fell asleep late on the 14th so didn't get but 8% done, but that 8% was amazing. The next 92% over the next day and a half was no less amazing.

We have RH, M/M action, hot fae men, an even hotter fae woman, deceit, murder, and loss. What more could you ask for?? This is a baby author, but her writing did NOT represent that fact. It was a masterpiece!! One I promise you won't regret reading!

This being the first book I've read from Miranda, it did not disappoint. Hadley discovers a whole new whole and a whole new part of herself she didn't know. Shes fully determined to be what everyone needs of her and she's so strong for that. The guys all have their unique personalities. I love watching Kai come out of his shell through the book. Kai's dad and Gabe are so .... Ugh I just want to throat punch them. My heart breaks for Hadley at the end. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

A good start to a series. We have the chosen one, who is the one and only of her kind being of all four elements. Strong in her beliefs, having been raised an only child, seen as spoiled by some due to differences between cultures (fae vs human). Then we have her harem of men who help and guide her along this new journey in her life. One which will never be boring again. If you are like me and are annoyed by info dumping,of which there is quite a bit of, hence the minus one star, keep pushing ahead. The plot makes it worth the read.

Silent Secrets is the tale set in the Fae world of Sorlphi. In this book we meet Hadley, the hidden future Fae queen and the 4 representatives from the 4 Courts that are there to teach her what she needs to know. The chemistry between them is out of this world and I was not sure which side of like/dislike coin they each landed on. This book ends in a cliffhanger andnis the first book in a trilogy. I have not read anything by this newly published author but Inam so glad I read this book and will absolutely will be reading books 2 and 3 to find out how Hadley progresses.

This is the story about a young woman named Hadley, who is grieving the loss of her mother. One night after work she is walking home and confronted by a stranger who transports Hadley to the Fae realm and proceeds to tell her everything she thought she knew is inaccurate. Four men are sent to teach Hadley everything she needs to know about the Fae realm. The story continues with Hadley and the challenges, threats, and over all life changing secrets she is faced with.

This was an amazing debut novel from Miranda May. I cant wait to see what happens next in Hadley's life.

Hadley was plucked from the mortal Realm and brought to the Fae realm and told she will be turning of age soon and will step up as queen. She becomes close over the course of the book to the heirs of the courts Caiden, Hunter, Kai and Marcos and thinks she might want them to be her consorts. But there are too many secrets being kept from her and even from each of the guys. This was spicy but not too much, I loved reading the character depth and their backstories. I can’t wait to read the next book!!!

She always thought there was something different about herself she felt like something was missing. One day she was abruptly pulled out of the mortal realm and flung into the fae realm as princess and future queen. She had a lot to learn in a short time and the ones chosen to teach her had other things in mind. Can they follow through or as she falls will they fall as well. Slow burn turned hotter. Amazing plot can’t wait to dive into second one. I hate cliffhangers normally but this one is actually okay.
