The book itself is pretty tiny with only black and white pictures, nothing rare. Text doesn't have bad mistakes, and is respectful. Same could be said of the DVD that comes along with it. A nice set, especially for people who are just starting to learn about Marilyn. Not a bad cost either. I don't recall seeing the documentary anywhere else. There is nothing new there, and like the book - it is respectful with no major errors. I especially liked the pictures and scenery of the places she went to and grew up in, with both old and new footage. 3,5 if I could give that, and I would recommend it to anyone "just starting out" this "MM Madness" ;)))

Despite of Marilyn's tragic death, this was so fun and enjoyable to read. In my point of perspective, I always feel that Hollywood has a way of destroying amazing people..I just feel like the whole place is toxic.
Marilyn Monroe has been one of my top favorite people that I've always wanted to read about more. The whole time I was reading this book I wanted to tell Marilyn that it's okay to have flaws, insecurities and painful past. I wanted to tell her that these things do not make her any less perfect. Not being mother does not make her any less complete and perfect. I adored all her photos in this book but my absolute favorite one was the last one in the book, where Marilyn smiled a pained smile with wrinkles surrounding her two beautiful emerald eyes and her signature red lipstick and watery eyes..in my eyes she has never been more beautiful and real.❤️🥀💄
It's really crazy how the people in the "industry" painted her as a "dumb blonde bombshell", even though Marilyn is one of the strongest women ever and it hurts how some of the closest people to her believed that "dumb blonde" painting!

This is more or less "just another one" of those coffee table type of books on Marilyn Monroe. It's constructed around the sort of "rise and fall" angle, and it works well with the selected pictures and text.

For fans who has read a lot about her, I doubt there's any surprises here - none of it is particulary controversial. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful book with many full page b/w pictures and a (pretty shallow) biography. Fairly quick read, and worth picking up again several times, if only just for the pictures.

As usual I miss a literature list, with references to sources. That is of course too much to ask for in this type of book, I realise that, but still. Considering how many false rumours and, well, nonsense there is about her out there, it'd be nice to see where all this (and other) info actually comes from. But like i said: This is a coffee table book more than a history book, and it does what it's expected to do.

A lovely tribute with beautiful photos (and a few typos). Such a fascinating human being. No matter how many books I read about her, her short life story with all of its real and imagined tragedy never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

This DVD and book set is the perfect gift for that Marilyn Monroe fan in your life. I’ve read about a dozen books on the blonde legend, so when my oldest girlfriend gave me this set, it was a sure bet I would love it. It truly is fantastic, with 250 pages of glossy black and white photos of the star, from her early career to the film never released, Something’s Gotta Give. This is mostly a pictorial read, with captions serving as most of the written words.

For those just starting out in their Marilyn biographies, this might not be the best to start with, since it’s mostly pictures. But for those like myself, who have her entire life practically memorized, this is fantastic. Classic photographs are interspersed with publicity stills, frames from her movies, and off-screen gems. And as a bonus, there’s a DVD with more photographs and video clips for your enjoyment. It’s not the best or most thorough documentary I’ve ever seen, but it’s really nice that a DVD is included in a biography of a movie star.
