If love is hell, what does that make divorce?

That is one of life's great questions for John Germaine, a divorced man who has bought an old bed and breakfast inn and turned it into a refuge for recently divorced men. But faced with a crushing, ongoing alimony payment to his ex-wife, Margaret, an aspiring, yet sadly uninspiring actress, John has reached the end of his tether. And it's either get Margaret married or take drastic measures. With the assistance of his permanent residents and his new housekeeper, Emily, who just happens to be the ex-wife of Margaret's new fiance, John puts a plan together to get Margaret off his back, if not out of his life permanently. With a houseful of residents that includes a hygiologist whose mission in life is to make America smell better, a mantologist with a Vegas lounge act, and a political consultant down on his luck, Divorce Hotel comes out swinging on page one and doesn't let up.

John Germaine, the owner of the ‘Divorce Hotel’ has a problem: his ex-wife Margaret is bleeding him dry …

Peopled with wonderfully oddball individuals, B.R. Snow’s gently humorous novel weaves a delicious spell over its reader. Snow artfully marshals different narrative threads around witty dialogue to create characters and situations you genuinely care about. I was hooked with the charm of the writing after the first few pages, and worked my way through the book in two sessions. It is stuffed full of comic invention and absolutely unputdownable!

Moreover, ‘Divorce Hotel’ bubbles with an inherent optimism about humanity. The ultimate resolution of the characters’ various issues leaves you with a warm afterglow – and with the thought that perhaps this world is not such a bad old place after all.

Read it. You will almost certainly be the happier for it.

I just finished reading Divorce Hotel and it is an excellent read! My wife got pissed with me because I was reading late at night in bed and couldn't stop laughing. The plot is beautifully constructed and I loved the way the author introduced the characters, and grew their storylines. A satisfying comedy, with a great dramatic shape.

don't waste your time or money reading this - it is rubbish and i have no idea how it maintains a 3.6 rating.. Only thing going for it is it is mercifully short

This book just didn't sit right with me. There's barely any description and some of the dialogue has very clear typos. As for the humor, it just kind of leans too far into mean spirited/dirty jokes that I don't care for. I don't think this has aged well. I do like how it all wrapped up, but it dragged and it just wasn't a great read. I'm gonna donate it to the library.

Unfortunately, this book was not for me.
It was not as funny as I expected. To be honest, I couldn’t understand which parts of this story were funny… Probably, it’s because my sense of humor and the author’s are different.

A quarter through this book. It's trash, typos and lousy writing. I'm not wasting my time!

Get a group of unique divorced men into one house add in a couple of ex-wives and a couple of ridiculous situations and you have animal house…er, Divorce Hotel. The story was fun of interesting characters, not only the hotel regulars but some interesting ones that checked in and out. The situations that arise are nut and to see the characters try to devise plans to deal with them are tons of fun. The story definitely as a bit of a male slant to it but I highly recommend this book for someone looking for a light hearted good time.

A very novel idea for a story that read very easily. I had one or two embarrassing moments reading this on my kindle while sat on the bus where I suddenly burst into laughter. It did have quite a few such moments and was built around a motley group of characters I'm sure most of us can identify with. A follow up to this, if the author gives it to us, would be another very pleasant experience I'm sure. A great story loaded with laughs.

Keep you amused all night

Divorce Hotel
by B.R. Snow

Great stuff!!! Certainly one that will make you smile - the characters are amazing with a top story and laughs all around, it almost felt like I knew them... maybe, they live next door?

The creation of dysfunction relationships lifts this book from the pages, well-written with story plots to keep you amused all night.

Really looking forward to much more from Snow - 5***** Banter

This was an interesting read, but it did not capture me like I was hoping. The characters while interesting and sometimes fully, there wasn't any depth to them.

What a fun read. Clever with LOL moments in the perfect places. Matched my dry sense of humor. I flew through this book in a day!
