the book is fairly written. but when the author begins a vendetta against the former prime minister, the course is lost.

This book was discussed by many more people than read it. Its clear that the author had a case to state, was livid and made some critical observations about the structure of government in Kenya. It was confusing on occasion because it was not clear whether the author intended this to be a biography or a political tract justifying an ideology and how this has been offended by political actors that he trusted.

The book speaks for itself and mentions a lot of personal discussions that may cause discomfort to the confidantes of the author. To my mind, the author and his editors would have crated a far more readable and less strident book by better editing and advising the author to review some passages that were undeniably written while the author was too vexed that it raises a reader's question on objectivity of the narratives. In my reading, this is really two books because the first sections that covers the childhood and early professional life is masterfully done and unique but the second part is repetitive and too obsessed with displaying anger and name calling. This book could be improved in subsequent editions.

this book is a weapon of mass destruction! also referred to as magina

bold. provocative. honest. furious. stormy. self-assured. proudly ja-nyando, luopean, kenyan, african, human.

i ll quote verbatim the biggest lesson for me in this book:

"... there can never be societal rights without individual rights. Society is nothing but a conglomeration of individuals. Yet it is when individuals band together, in sufficient large numbers, in the quest for justice, that society liberates itself from bondage"

The book started out very well...beautifuly written and quite informative. When it got to be a personal vendetta it went downhill fast...focus was lost and it just went out the window....

This book is really interesting and an eye opener of the Govt of Kenya...

My own opinion, you just need to read the book to be the judge. I particularly liked the first 4 chapters where Miguna tells his story from a Village boy to Exile. He was really determined to learn. That was encouraging and i think that part alone would have made a nice inspirational book.

From his return to Peeling back the mask... YOU MUST read and be your own judge.. i am not political so i choose not to comment...

I would rate it 5 star for good english and fast read.

Miguna Miguna wrote this book very quickly. His acticulation is very repetitive and quite monotonous. However, the book has quite interesting bits and scandals about Kenya's Political elite that make for quite good entertainment.

Most important, this book was brave and served its purpose to biograph the life of Miguna, to raise a few political points and pick the intellect of historians and anthropologists.

Page 1,2,3,4,5,6,7...lose count....End. This is an addictive read especially for someone who has lived in the context Miguna is writing about. I will review its political value after I am done. I don't want to prejudge such a voluminous book even before I am half way there.

Interesting book. It just gives you a picture of how dirty Kenya Politics is and how our leaders lack integrity, professionalism. That corruption, tribalism and money are the root of Kenya leadership.

Njuguna Njuguna may have been saying the truth but his bitterness carried him away.I look back to the articles he wrote to defend Raila and to smear Uhuru and Ruto and am just surprised how times can change very first! This man Miguna can be a gun for hire.

Unable to finish this book. It's bogged down with way too many details that drag the memoir on and on and on....
didn't even get to the juicy parts that i heard about....

The book began well with the build-up to what I was expecting to be a bomb shell but was rather disappointed at the end. The book is a good read though.

This book is interesting if one is keen on the Kenyan Politics and the players in it. The more I think of what Miguna wrote the more I realise we have a long way to go.

Whatevers Miguna says of Raila speaks more of Miguna than Raila.Miguna is apparently peeling back his own mask of disloyalty and a debauched sense of importance.
