Insanity

Rate this book
Omar Tyree, best known for his gritty urban novels, depicting the sexy, drama-filled lives of tough-minded African-American women from Flyy Girl, For The Love of Money, Leslie and Diary of a Groupie - all New York Times bestsellers - returns to his reader base with Insanity, a powerful, modern day housewife drama, uncovering the disastrous dark side of a woman with cold-hearted and seductive ambition. Queen Tillis-Thompson, a sex-loving wife, a calculating mother, and a social climbing professional from the tough inner city streets of West Baltimore will stop at nothing in her rise to wealthy and security, even if it means sharing a few beds, stepping on toes, and smashing all egos. She boldly states, “Don’t ever underestimate me . . . If I need to be that bitch, I will be that bitch. If I need to be that hoe, I will be that hoe. And if I need to be that studious nerd, virgin or whatever, then I will be that too.” Named and raised by a young, single and obsessive mother who did all she could to make certain her only child could escape the many failures of the Baltimore streets, Queen uses her smarts, her body and her iron will, including an elite education to survive and strive, while carefully scheming on the most profitable. In her unapologetic zeal, she is easily willing to use and abuse family, friends, and lovers without sympathy.

Good book

To me this was a different type of book coming from Omar Tyree. I enjoyed it. Queen is a lot to handle. I can't wait to get further into the series to see all that she does. I would recommend this book.

I expected better.

I usually enjoy Omar's books, but this one had too many grammatical errors. It was a distraction to the reading.
