Rate this book
When brilliant but emotionally-tortured New York journalist Bec Corelli learns her father has died mysteriously on vacation in India, she walks out on her job and heads to Delhi. Pharmaceutical CEO Ernst Reiniger, facing ruin over a failed drug, has hatched a chilling plan to save his 300-year-old family company. With a lethal virus decimating the Mexican resort city of Cabo San Lucas and threatening a global pandemic more deadly than Covid, Reiniger has the inside running on producing a vaccine. As Bec chases leads across India, supported by blogger Mike Bullard and New Zealand eco-warrior Jay Duggan, she is confronted by powerful forces determined to stop her discovering the truth about her father.

About the author

Geoffrey Robert

Geoffrey Robert is a New Zealand author and former journalist with a passion for stories that challenge, inspire, and reflect the times we live in. His latest novel, All It Will Take, is an allegorical tale set in a divided rabbit society — a story of resistance, reckoning, and the quiet courage needed to change the world.

Drawing inspiration from the legacy of Nelson Mandela and literary traditions like Watership Down, Geoffrey blends social commentary with rich, imaginative storytelling. His writing explores what it means to lead, to speak out, and to believe in a future shaped by justice and compassion.

His debut novel, The Alo Release, explores the dangers of genetic modification and how public opinion can be manipulated by powerful business and political interests. Finding Fabi, his second novel, highlights the chilling potential of multinational pharmaceutical companies in a post-COVID world. In The Ghost Shipment, justice, international drug trafficking, and political intrigue collide in a high-stakes pursuit of power and redemption.

Geoffrey lives in Rangiora, New Zealand, with his wife Sue and their feisty Border Terrier, Harvey.
