It’s Halloween in Leesburg, Georgia. A time filled with costumes, candy, scary costumes, tricks, treats, and…pumpkins. On a farm outside of town, Curtis and Shelly Walker and their friend, Ray, make a strange discovery: a farm field with only a single pumpkin growing.
And growing.
And growing.
Day by day, the pumpkin gets bigger and bigger. And then, one day, it’s gone.
Vanished.
Or…is it?
What happens next is more horrifying than any book or movie that Curtis, Shelly, or Ray have ever seen or read. Question is: will they live to tell about it?
Christopher Wright is the author of dozens of horror fiction books for children and young adults. He writes under the pseudonyms Johnathan Rand and Christopher Knight. Almost all of Wright's books (save American Chillers) take place in his home state of Michigan.
Johnathan Rand FINALLY released his newest installment in the Chillers series. It’s about damn time.
The book is about a pumpkin that keeps growing and growing…just like my boner when I saw that this book had come out.
This book made me wonder why the Chillers books had never been made into movies. It seemed like such an obvious idea!
I tried to ask Johnathan on Facebook but I found out he blocked me. How rude, all I had done was spam message him asking about a ton of plot holes and inconsistencies! The nerve of some people!
I decided to take matters into my own hands. I looked up local filmmakers and found one, who had mostly just done shitty Christmas movies for Tubi. He was PERFECT!
I reached out to him with a new email pretending to be Johnathan Rand and asking to meet about a possible movie adaptation. He agreed to meet me at a pizza place in Royal Oak.
I arrived at the pizza place and found a table. After about 20 minutes the Filmmaker finally arrived. Before I could open my mouth, however, he handed me his phone.
“Here look at this interview I did on TV last night” he said. I reluctantly did, and sure enough, it was him on a shitty local news channel.
“Woooooow,” I said. “So cool, but anyways…”
He quickly pulled his phone out of my hands and then pulled up another interview. “Now look at this.” I rolled my eyes and looked at it.
“Awesome, but listen, I wanted to-“
His phone rang. He shoved his finger into my face and said “Yeah hold on let me take this.” He then answered the call and started talking to some guy about a girl he hooked up with at a movie theater without his wife knowing. I slowly stood up and walked away.
