A special assignment takes SpecOp BB from working undercover to under the covers…

Billy Bob "BB" Dalton thought he'd left his career as an underwear model behind when he became a Navy SEAL assigned to a team of special ops where no one is supposed to have a past or an identity. Now the military wants him to be the poster boy for their new recruitment marketing campaign, and during what was supposed to be his Christmas leave no less.

Luckily his ‘handler’ turns out to be hot enough to melt icicles in winter, but can BB convince this slightly older and definitely jaded career-focused marketing executive to let him go from working undercover to working her under the covers?

This is pretty good for a 57 page quick, free read about a sweet, hot romance that develops between a 27-year-old Navy SEAL selected to be the poster boy for a special ops recruiting campaign and an almost 40-year-old marketing consultant hired to be his "handler".

It's available for free on the AllRomance ebooks website!

This was a very short novella which I finished in an hour but it was an hour of fun. BB is one hot and sexy 27 year old Special Ops who is also modest, brave and knows what he wants and goes for it, in this case Katie. Katie is almost 40 and she has many doubts in her head regarding a relationship with BB, especially all she can picture in her mind is him being with some 20-something who could bear his children in the future.

Loved the sexually energy between these two I just wishes it was much longer and we could see the relationship develop and see some more, detailed hot actions. I could really see the potential for this book being a full-length novel because of the development of the characters.

A fun read that had me laughing at some points during my train ride to work that made the other commuters wonder "what the hell is she reading?" LOL if they only knew.

This must have been something Cat Johnson started and then figured out that it wasn't going to work. Rather than scrapping it, she decided to toss it out as a freebie and see what happened.

This is a riff on the cougar theme with an "older" female advertising executive and a hot (are there any other kind) young military dude. The novella/short story is only 40 pages long, so the obligatory "fighting their attraction" is perfunctory before the also obligatory "sizzling" sex scene which is standard fare.

This might be a good read while waiting in the dentist's office, and since it was free, I can't really complain, but the writing is below par and the plot weak. Cat Johnson is working her way up my Think Twice Before You Buy list.

FWIW, over at Amazon this is sold as: BB Dalton (Red, Hot, & Blue)

I really like BB's character but I felt that the story was not long enough to give you the background information you needed on either main character. And for an erotic short this did not have nearly enough sex. The sex that was in the story left me unsatisfied & wanting something a little more hot & steamy.

I thought it was a cute short romantic story. However, I did not really like the age difference, not because I care about age, but because it made the resolution to the conflict unbelievable... The author made Katie seem insecure and afraid, while Katie was just being realistic! With her being 40 and BB being 28, realistically a time will come when he wants children and it will be too late for her - causing him to leave her for a younger woman. It's not exactly rocket science! It may not be fair and it is definitely not nice, but things like this happen all the time. So, I didn't like how the author dismissed Katie's logical views so easily, simply called them fear, and how Katie changed her mind within minutes and appologized to BB for speaking the truth, as if she did something wrong... Overall, I felt like the author lead us to a false-sounding "Happily Ever After"....

Also - this was not erotica - this was a tame romance!

There are so many things that bother me about this book. I have no problem with the age difference. Hey, every woman wants a younger man. That's hot. But, if you're writing military romances, you need to at least be accurate. What Navy Seal, Special Ops forces are going to allow their face to be out there in the public?! There is no way that would ever happen. So right there, I'm rolling my eyes. Then we get to BB and Katie. I can understand a young man thinking he's in love after one night. A grown woman, who's been divorced, in love after one night of sex? It just felt rushed and easy. There was no work necessary for the author. It was free, so I can't complain, but this book certainly doesn't make me want to read more by the author. Why would I? If it's all one night of sex and hey we're in love, I want a story, a plot, not a quickie.

Still really don't know how to rate this one.

It was well written. Cat Johnson definitely has a clear, smooth voice.

I think my problem with this is that is wasn't long enough and it finished too quickly. There is a lot of build up and then all of a sudden wham, bam its over.

If it was longer I think I would have liked it more - because BB was definitely lickable.

And the age difference....eeeekkk. Guys are immature at the best of times, but a 12 year age difference?? Sorta made me cringe.

This story was too short to even give much of an opinion on. I think the hero could have been a FABULOUS hero, if given enough pages!!! He was a gorgeous, young, sexy, nice military guy who had the hots for an older woman. Great concept, but with only 57 pages, there wasn't enough time to do much of anything except meet them and watch them fall into bed with each other.

BB or Billy Bob is a cover model turned Special Ops. Katie is the Pr lady who is to put him back into modeling to increase national interest in joining the military fast tracts to SEAL and Special OPs.

It is a May December romance with Katie being 11 years older. It ends with a Happy for Now so believable. Cute story.

This book is described as an erotica. I'm sorry girls but this is simple a very nice but sweet romance. There is only one scene of passion, although it was over so quickly they may well have not bothered. It doesn't add anything to the story. This is simple a sweet cute romance not an erotica.

Soldier or model?

Started off great but somewhere along the way it lost me....
I usually don’t mind age difference in characters at all, but the way she cried about it, she sounded whiny and not the caliber of woman for a Seal. Just didn’t keep me entertained enough to even buy the underwear model/ Seal story... sorry!

This was a fun story. BB gets assigned to be an underwear model in the hopes of getting more recruits to join the SEALS. Not exactly what he was figuring his next assignment was going to be. But his handles is hot and he is very interested in her. Pretty good short story.

Fast read

BB Dalton by Cat Johnson

This was a fun, very quick read that had the potential to be so much more. It just seemed to be rushed especially at the end. Then wham it's over and no follow up. I think the writing was good so I will read more from this author.

An age-gap with older woman. Love watching them fight the attraction, especially her.

BB used to be a model for men's underwear but on 9-11 he walked away and joined the military. Now on a SpecOps team he is assigned to be the poster boy for recruitment. With the brainchild of of this idea being a woman eleven years older as his "handler" for this assignment, will they be able to keep their hands off each other and can she overcome the age difference? Is there something else that is holding her back from having a real relationship with him?

This is a quick read.

short but not sweet

The writing is always great. My objection is to the manner in which Katie rides roughshod over BB and drags him back into a career he left. Then during the shoots she shows such insensitivity to his personal space and humiliates him. I love the age debate but the relationship aspect doesn’t gel for me in the story.

Good short read

Overall, a good short read featuring another of Team Zeta's guys.
BB Dalton is assigned to a recruitment campaign, much to his disgust, but this teams him with Katie as his handler. Sparks fly

Enjoyable

BB Dalton: A Man Out of Uniform Romance (Red, Hot & Blue)

This was a quick story. It was different than most military books. The plot moved quickly and interesting to read.

Cute quick lunch time read with a younger man older woman trope. I saw where Katie was coming from when she figured BB would probably leave her for someone closer to his own age when he wanted to start a family, but this short novella gave us a happy right now ending that was satisfying for my taste.
