RUKOPISY VACLAVA IV.

Rate this book
This book deals with the royal manuscripts of Wenceslav IV, King of Bohemia in the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries. At that time in Prague a large number of writers and illuminators were at work, and Wenceslav, a bibliophile, was able to amass an impressive library of both secular and religious books, including bibles, psalm books, astrological codices, and belles-lettres. This book is about some of the most notable examples of the collection; although written in Czech, the text is fully explained in Russian, English and German, making it accessible to all. Lavishly illustrated, with many plates in full color, this is a beautiful presentation of Late Medieval Art. Slight wear at top of dust jacket. ii , 308 pages. decorated cloth, dust jacket, cardboard slipcase.. 4to..
