The events which killed dozens of people and put the word 'werewolf' on people's lips have been covered up. Deaths blamed on gang warfare, drugs and costumes. A secret operation is in process to make sure that the truth about what happened in Boxford stays buried. But somethings refuse to lie down and be still. There are perpetual loose ends that continue to multiply and carry on a legacy that began well before the Second World War. Like FUR, this is not a tale about werewolves. It's a tale about survival and the measures that people will go to for the people they love.
Matthew Cash, or Matty-Bob Cash as he is known to most, was born and raised in Suffolk; which is the setting for his debut novel Pinprick. He is compiler and editor of Death By Chocolate, a chocoholic horror Anthology and the 12Days: STOCKING FILLERS Anthology. In 2016 he launched his own publishing house Burdizzo Books and took shit-hot editor and author Em Dehaney on board to keep him in shape and together they brought into existence SPARKS: an electrical horror anthology, The Reverend Burdizzo’s Hymn Book, Under The Weather* Visions From the Void ** and The Burdizzo Mix Tape Vol. 1. He has numerous solo releases on Kindle and several collections in paperback. Originally with Burdizzo Books, the intention was to compile charity anthologies a few times a year but his creation has grown into something so much more powerful *insert mad laughter here*. He is currently working on numerous projects, his third novel FUR was launched in 2018. *With Back Road Books ** With Jonathan Butcher
He has always written stories since he first learnt to write and most, although not all, tend to slip into the many layered murky depths of the Horror genre. His influences ranged from when he first started reading to Present day are, to name but a small select few; Roald Dahl, James Herbert, Clive Barker, Stephen King, Stephen Laws, and more recently he enjoys Adam Nevill, F.R Tallis, Michael Bray, Gary Fry, William Meikle and Iain Rob Wright (who featured Matty-Bob in his famous A-Z of Horror title M is For Matty-Bob, plus Matthew wrote his own version of events which was included as a bonus). He is a father of two, a husband of one and a zoo keeper of numerous fur babies.
I've waited a long time for this sequel and it was absolutely amazing. Picking up right where Fur left off you're instantly transported back into that world. Returning characters made me feel like there wasn't a break between the books being released. My favorite part of this book was the look into the past at Victor and Gwen's escape from Germany.
FERAL is the third book in the evocative and brutal Werewolf series by Matthew Cash, and it’s enthralling.
The story is intense and evocative. Cash’s characters and characterization draw you in. You feel with them; you feel for them; you feel strong opinions about many of them. Their interactions are immersive, and the story as a whole is an experience of emotion and tension and horror.
FERAL begins where FUR ends, literally picking up the story right where it leaves off. Like FUR, FERAL flows exquisitely, and also like FUR, it has some extreme subject matter and brutality that may be too much for sensitive readers. But it is ultimately a powerful story about people, devotion, and the lust for power.
I love this series, and I love this book. It’s moving, vivid, and action-packed, a riveting tale of love and greed, werewolves and intrigue. The entire Werewolf series is a shelf-worthy addition to one’s horror library and an immersive must-read.
This book starts immediately after Fur. In the aftermath of the events in Boxford we follow two separate stories whilst also exploring more of Victor's background directly after the events in the prequel Werewolf. Hard to put down as each of the three story arcs bring something different as the various characters come to terms with how their lives have changed and we see how they deal with the beast within or around them. Character and story building are clearly a strength for the author as I found myself fully invested. A gripping read, each arc woven seamlessly in so your interest doesn't waiver. More story telling and less all out blood and gore (although we still see a fair amount!). Building to a crazy climax I want to find out what happens next, roll on the next installment!
This instalment of the Fur franchise picks up right where Fur left off but also has a dual timeline expanding Victor's history and that picks up where Werwolf ended. There are some new characters introduced as well as exploring the consequences of the first book for Juliette, Dr Mortimer, and Tony and Danny. Whereas Werwolf and Fur could be read as stand alone books this is very much a middle of a series book, with less action than before and 3 separate story strands this felt like it was setting the stage for a grand finale in Führer. I'm already invested in the characters, but I was waiting for it all to come together, which didn't happen. The way it ends would have had me immediately reaching for the next book had it been available though.
This is the third book in the series and absolutely loved that this author's writing had me gripped from the first page to the last and 😲😲 what an ending, I ended up shouting at the book "NO" you can't leave it there, boo hoo 😭😭 I'll have to wait to the next book to see what happens now.
This book focuses on the events after The Boxford deaths and a cover-up blaming it on the local gangs. The clean-up commences, but some loose ends are fighting to survive, Juliet, Danny, to name a few literally, uh oh oh oh omg. I loved how it covered Victors history, too.
The descriptions of the gory scenes were brilliantly detailed and totally loved it. Excited for the next book, roll on hurry up, please Mr Author!!!
Feral picks up right where Fur ends and dials back the action quite a bit. Cash uses this story to more fully flesh out his world, adding more wrinkles and twists to it as the story progresses. While Werewolf gave us a nice beginning, and Fur continued that, this book really broadens the playground for his characters to play in. His vivid story telling paints a clear picture of all that is going on, and builds the story through multiple threads to several cliffhanger climaxes. This was a very engrossing read, and it left me wanting for more, hopefully soon.
Just finished this book and how dare he end this book like that......... now a i have to wait to see what happens grrrrr but seriously my days this whole series is incredible and I loved this 3rd entry in the series. I love Victor's story line, juliet is an absolute boss I love her badass side. I wasn't such a fan of tony in the last book but ive come round and kinda love him. I cannot wait to see what happens in führer so not to be a demanding bitch but....... come on write quicker 🤣 I'm kidding......kinda.....maybe. Loved this book series and cannot wait for the next one.
Very good continuation of this werewolf series. For me, it is not as good as the previous book. I think I had much more interest in the old characters, they just had a bit more about them. That's not to say that this is a bad book by any means. Again, this is an easy read and contains a good amount of action delivered at a good pace. If you enjoyed the previous in the series "werwolf" and "fur" then you can't go wrong by reading this.
The continuation from Fur and Werewolf. We are diving back into the world of werewolves. We get more backstory on Victor and his time in the second world war. We will also find out the consequences of people's actions and how the people of Boxford especially the residents of The Green Man estate are dealing with the multiple deaths and the cover up of the werewolves. We also get to discover the consequences of Juliet asking her father Trevor to babysit her children and the fate of Tony and Danny. Tony and Danny's story where the two characters I was really intrigued about finding out more and this was delivered. I'm really happy to know that this series is going to continue in Führer which the title to me is hinting that we are going back to world war II and Germany. This series so far is giving me everything that I want in a good read I've just been loving it.
A fun and Interesting blend of horror icons. Part horror and part mystery thriller. The char pare well developed and worth Investing in. My biggest complaint so far is the story ended so what happens next?
