This is the second book in The Waite Family. Ms. Barton has started a new series for us to enjoy and enjoy it we will. I haven’t known too many authors to write so many books with sequels that I want to follow but Ms. Barton has me hooked. Quinn Waite is Cain’s sister. She works for his wife, Alyssa as a secretary and protector at Howard Enterprises. Andrew Miller is the family attorney and works for the company as well. There seems to be a pull between him and Quinn but he’s not ready for anything because they seem to fight nonstop with each other. Until one night after another argument with Quinn lands Drew in her bed, things will never be the same between them again.
Alyssa is having to be watched because someone is after her again. Between her mother Shannon and Cain’s mother Guinevere neither one of them are happy with her and will do anything to get what they want even if it means kidnapping to get it. There’s a rocky road ahead for Quinn and Drew but will love conquer all for them and save them from what could tear them apart?

'Quinn' is the second book in Kathi S. Barton's "The Waite Family" series. Just a reminder that Ms. Barton's books can be read independently of each other within a series but you'll get so much more enjoyment if they're read in the order the author released them. If you've read the first book within the series then you'll remember that Quinn was kidnapped by her father and intended to kill her if he didn't receive two million dollars. He was ultimately killed in a shoot-out with the police when he fired at them but Quinn's mother, in her delusional mind, continues to blame Quinn. Quinn has gone to work for Alyssa and is devoted to her and her safety. Andrew, aka Drew, is the grandson of Alyssa's father's attorney. Drew has picked up the torch, so to speak, and continues to protect her assets. Since both Quinn and Drew work for Alyssa, they are in constant sight of each other and often co-ordinate on things. On their best day, these two tolerate each other. At their worst, these two can throw sarcastic words at each other, acknowledging they can't stand one another. In truth, Quinn has had the hots for Drew. There's a lot of miscommunication, drama, and humor, all wrapped in a combustible chemistry that explodes once they act on it. It's a thrilling storyline that kept me engaged, the characters are perfectly flawed and relatable, and the world-building was phenomenal. I just love the writing from Ms. Barton's back catalog and can't wait until I dive into 'Sin' next.

Very Good 2!

Again, I have to say that I have read this book before but, never did a review. & since it’s been so long since I’ve read this book it was almost like new.

Quinn is Cain’s twin & she loves making lists. & throughout this book she makes a lot of lists; some have very interesting titles.

Drew, is Alyssa’s attorney, she hired & fired him many times in the 1st book. Drew, has somewhat of a temper & his mouth gets away from him sometimes; especially when he’s near Quinn.

What it takes them (mostly him) a long time to learn is that they’re both in love with each other. But, you’ll have to read the book to find out what all happens in their quest for a HEA.

Alyssa & Cain as well as some more of his sisters are in this book as well as some of the bad guys from the 1st book.

I just loved this story. Quinn and Drew are both such intense characters that you can't help but fall in love with them. The sparks that fly every time they are in the room together are so hot you can feel it. Both characters are stubborn, loud, bossy and way to set in their ways. Their relationship is very intense and fun to read about. The plot is getting deeper and some twists come into play setting the stage for more to come. Oh and Cain is so not liking how things are going that he adds some amusing interactions that made laugh. This family is so protective of each other that I sometimes feel sorry for the spouses and intended spouses. They just don't know what they are getting into when they hook up with one of the Waite family and don't get me started on their parents. Danger, drama, excitement, family and some unique supporting characters made this an awesome read. I can't wait to start book 3 and watch the next poor man suffer when he falls under the spell of those Waite girls.

I was given an ARC for an honest review

I want to give this book five stars.. but four will have to do.

This is the second installment in the Waite Series, Quinn and Drew's story to be precise. Quinn (Cain's sister) and Drew (Alyssa's lawyer) have an attraction for one another that builds to love. I love that the heroine has a backbone with all the alpha male stories they make women seem a little "push over"ish... not in this story.

Why I didn't give it the full five? Although it was Quinn and Drew's story, it was still highly anchored with Cain and Alyssa story. The other thing... the dialogue is a conversational one which confused me at times. You can feel the emotion, but there were lines I had to read two or three times to understand what was being expressed.

In overall, the banter between the characters was comical and endearing. I am off to read "Sin's" story.

Quinn is a take charge woman who organizes everything into a list or writes out what needs to be done/said. She is Alyssa's secretary and one of the new sister-in-law. She knows what it's like to not have control over her life. With an abusive past she vows she will never give a man the power over her again. Especially one she can't seem to talk to without arguing.

Andrew "Drew" is Alyssa's lawyer and friend. He's determined he won't fall in love especially with a headstrong woman like Quinn who he can't even decide if he likes or hates her.

One issue I kind of had with this book was that Quinn and Drew just kind of jumped into love and never really discussed their pasts or why they are the way they are. I don't think Drew even knew what happened during Quinn's past marriage to make her gun shy like she is.

Where to start with Quinn.......I am able to get such a clear picture in my mind of Quinn and she is so insecure about herself, but she is beautiful. She is a fighter, a friend and someone who is about to run headlong into a new love. Bam, right in front of her and between her eyes. Drew! He is argumentative, loyal, intellectually intelligent but can't see the smack to the face coming until it has already happened. I think I would laugh at these two if they were in front of me. I like she had a plan to deal with things but she needs lessons in how to deal with being loved. It is a fun ride watching these two come together despite the goings on around them. Kathi Barton has done it for me again!!

The second instalment of the Waite family was even better than the first and I can't wait for then next book.

This story was a fast read for me due to me not able to put it down as the characters and story had me hooked from the start.

Quinn Waite is on of 6 siblings and has had a rough romance experiment prior to falling for Drew who she works with within her sister in laws company Howard Enterprises.
Drew is an only child who has become a successful lawyer for Howard Enterprises.

Sparks fly in the form of hate and passion between Quinn and Drew and one night of drunkness turns into a lifetime of love and passion, with their ups and downs along the way.

This story is a must read any all f Kathi's story are, give it a go!!

I could not stop reading this book once I started. This was an amazing book that I loved.

Quinn moved along at a great pace from the very first word till the very last one. Had characters that suck you in and wont let you go and a story that is entertaining from beginning to end that you cannot put down.

Kathi S. Barton is a wonderful author and everyone should experience at least one of her books and hopefully more.

For a book entitled Quinn, she is surprisingly did not feel like the focus of the book. The book was still somewhat anchored to Alyssa and her empire and the 'revenge' their parents are trying to get out of them. It didn't feel like we got the chance to understand Quinn and Andrew at all, and they just seemed to be thrown there altogether.

I loved this book. Strong, smart characters that pull you in from the very beginning.

I love reading all of Ms Barton's books. She pulls me in at the beginning, and I cant seem to ever put them down until I reach the end.

Then I go looking for the next.

I recommend this book and author to everyone.

Hmm, not so sure this one shouldn't have been called Alyssa pt 2 with a side of Quinn. But anyway...this one followed the same predictable trend as was expected, though I must admit that several things caught me off guard in the last twenty pages or so. There is a pleasant twist that I expect will surely have bearing in Alyssa pt 3,4,5 or 6.

Hmm, this was an okay read.
The transition from arguing like cats and dogs, to lust and i-love-you's after seem a little off, but hey, as long as I get my happy ending fix, I'm sold :)
