She wasn't looking for it, but it found her anyway.

Jamie Murphy has known she needed a change in her life for longer than she wanted to admit. Jamie is married, has a beautiful daughter, a good job, and a small circle of terrific friends. Yet, despite all of those great things, she still feels like something is missing.

Charlotte Moss has experienced her share of life's ups and downs. As a result, waiting for the other shoe to drop has become a regular part of Charlie's life. Fortunately for Charlie, there is one good thing that she knows she can always count on - Jamie's friendship.

As the women's friendship evolves and deepens, an attraction develops that neither anticipated. New and unexpected feelings catch Jamie completely off guard, causing her to question everything. Somewhere along the way, Jamie begins to figure out what she's been missing and what real happiness can and should look like.

Ouch

As I read this book I kept waiting for it to get better. It had to get better. Right? Only it didn't. It was like reading someone's journal. Woah is me. Boo-hoo. But it was the same thing over and over and over and over... well, you get it.

I guess if you're into introspection and looking inside yourself, you would probably like this. But I just couldn't. I'm honestly amazed that I actually read the entire book. But like I said, I kept waiting for it to get better.

In a nutshell it was:
I'm not happy
I meet someone who makes me happy
That new someone breaks my heart
It takes me years to get over it
When I finally do, I see her again and step back into the fire.

There. Now you know the entire story and you don't have to read it and waste your time.

Not sure if it was the cheating that turned me off initially. For the most part, I enjoyed the book. I was a little confused at the pace at times and felt like some of the plot was unrealistic? Maybe that’s not the right word. But I did appreciate that it wasn’t the typical happy ending. I like how the author explained the love lost and explained how the MC was feeling about her ex. It was nice to hear that it doesn’t matter the why and sometimes love isn’t enough. Sometimes people think they love you but they don’t because they can’t even love themselves

Not a Happy ending

I was very disappointed in the way it ended. Not a fan of going back into an abusing situation. This is always how they use to portray women, in books and films. She can’t make it on her own. She’s not strong enough. I thought we made progress, but not in this book.
Also, the author spells the word defiantly for definitely at least 3 times throughout the book. Perhaps, just a mistake. Editing should have caught the error.
