The story is told in first person narrative and is a sci-fi tale. If you like reading stories about aliens, this will spark your interest. At one time or another, surely, we've heard of those alien tales. The character Danny who was abducted as a child and now fearing re-abduction as an adult is totally plausible. The story makes for a great Discovery Channel screen view, or film addition. But don't just settle for aliens, the author has the details full of suspense, mystery, drug dealings and more. The author does an awesome job of putting the reader-audience in the moment. She brings her vivid, detailed, and imaged descriptions of the scene and its characters (humans and aliens) to life - as the reader navigates through those pages. It all seems so real; especially, in Chapter 22 when the author captures a full development of the effect: . . . the light descended and transformed into a saucer shape, getting larger and the orange glow turning to green as the saucer approached me. It landed in the field right next to my car.
. . . "You were abducted."

The way the author concludes her story, one can say: "This won't be the last we'll hear from this author." Certainly, there is much more to come as she opens the pages to new chapters.
" Going to Carlsbad" should make for an exciting read.

After racing through her previous short, In Santa Fe, Salacious, I was eager to catch the next instalment from Ms Lowe. While In Santa Fe opened with more steam than a Turkish Bath-house In Roswell, Re-abducted plunged us straight into a scene right out of the X-Files complete with UFO’s, little green men and a government investigator who uses his visions get to the truth.

Tower is a master of the twist and misdirection; you never know what’s coming next! Her plot lines are woven together like fine cloth and her characters stand out from one another in Technicolor. The story races along at break neck speed with snappy dialogue and vivid detail that will leave you breathless.

Like any great mystery series, Tower reveals enough of the central plot throughout the story to keep you hooked, fingers itching to get hold of the next episode to see if Cinnamon uncovers her mother’s secret.

I love this whole series -- quirky characters that you actually care deeply about, interesting plot twists, excellent story telling. Since I love the characters, especially Cinnamon and Burro, I'm not particularly disturbed that each story is sort of a cliff-hanger leading into the next story. And the stories in the series vary wildly in length. But, I love the characters and am curious to see what's going to happen next, and keeping my fingers crossed that Cinnamon finds Momma.

Once again, I need to read the fine print. That's on me. "In Roswell, Re-abducted" is a short story or a long chapter in a book that's being serialized; it is not a novel. While the author has some nice plot twists in this little chapbook, the story is in desperate need of an editor. Way too many simple grammatical errors and story-telling issues for such a small story. There were a half-dozen missing or extraneous quotation marks, a he became a she, and it was difficult at times to follow the story due to some abrupt scene changes.

The author has some good dialogue and turn of phrases. The scene setting was okay, but it needed to be beefed-up so readers who haven't been to Roswell could feel like they are there. The author brought up some the kooky places in the town, but stopped short of bringing us fully into the Roswell world and allowing us to accept the off-beat nature of the story. Cobbled together with the rest of the chap-books, I could probably get behind the twisty story with odd-ball characters and growing mystery about Cinnamon's mother.

But without stronger editorial guidance, this story is just another example of why the traditional publishing industry chuckles at self-published authors. This chapbook is average with strengths and weaknesses that cancel each other out. It is a 3.

I bought this short mystery because I love UFO stories and it didn’t disappoint. The dialogue was a big part of the pace. It was really well done. I didn’t notice the grammar errors mentioned by the other reviewer—but that’s just me. I’m going to read another one in the series soon. I like the idea of searching for Momma in all these little towns. And I felt sorry for the Danny character who was judged badly by the town. Of course, everyone there seems to believe in UFO’s, which I liked. This is why I buy mostly indie books. They can be different lengths and on topics I don’t see other places. The price for indie books is better, too.

In Roswell, Re-abducted the short story takes lots of twists and turns. A few more twists and turns for my taste. With editing, the story could have been shortened and still have the same effect. Cinnamon and Burro are in Roswell searching for Cinnamon's Momma and there are a lot of references to aliens - both illegal and non-illegal. Factor in disabilities and a corrupt police officer, and a dead body, and the story becomes a bit farcical.

I received this short story as part of a box set, and as a gift for my honest and unbiased review.

Danny has issues. The night of the murder he was drunk, high and off his meds - he's schizophrenic, but still a lot of folks don't believe he could have killed Juan. Cinnamon and Burro knew Juan and liked him, so off they head to Roswell to see what really happened. It doesn't hurt that Momma had visited Roswell. This is the first I've read in the series, but from what I gathered, in addition to going around New Mexico solving mysteries, Cinnamon is searching for her mother who abandoned her when she was six.

This is a short mystery, only 29 pages. It was good, but a lot was crammed into those pages. Dirty cops, drug dealing, an affair, even someone being held hostage although not by aliens. The clues are doled out, but the story took a couple of twists I didn't see coming. It was a fun, quick read, but I wish it had been longer. I think the story and the characters could have been developed more. Maybe if I had read the mysteries in order I would have felt like I understood Cinnamon and Burro more. They seem like a couple of interesting, odd characters. Cinnamon has her obsession and Burro has visions that give the pair clues or ideas on which direction to look.

I couldn't wait to reach this story in the "Cinnamon/Burro" mystery series because, who doesn't love aliens? Just the thought of being able to continue reading another story set in the lovely New Mexico, and taking another road trip with Cinnamon and Burro, filled me with anticipation. And this story does not disappoint. A bit longer than the others in this series, we get a chance to interact with the characters a bit more and take our time in unraveling the new crime set before us. I absolutely love Ms. Lowe's writing and her unique way of unfolding a story, because that's just what this series is, a beautiful unfolding of a rich and fragrant tale.
