Born with a bad heart, Hope Smith never thought she’d have any kind of life. Then again, she never imagined waking up in a medieval tower with her fairy godmother hovering over her.
Hope’s been given a new lease on life – if she can figure out the curse on the maiden Rapunzel, she’s free to live out the rest of her days in Scotland in her new body.
There’s a few problems, of course. For one, her hair is enchanted to grow at the slightest hint of sunlight. And her handsome prince? Not so handsome. But he’s accompanied by a big, burly Scotsman who makes Hope’s new heart flutter wildly. And with Callum’s help, she just might lick this curse thing. Once she stops licking Callum’s muscles, of course…
This novella (26,000 words – about 100 pages) contains explicit scenes, a strange fairy godmother, and some unusual light bondage play.
JILL MYLES writes as Jessica Clare and Jessica Sims.
A NOTE ABOUT FRIENDING: I will happily friend you back if you friend me! Goodreads is, after all, about discussing books we both love. I will NEVER self-promote my books to you. And if you self-promote your books to me, no matter how nicely, I'm deleting you off my list. Sorry. Goodreads is about fun, not spam.
A NOTE ABOUT MY REVIEWS: Hey, look at that! Most of my reviews are really positive! This is not me kissing ass - It's because at heart, I am a lazy reader. If I'm not enjoying a book, I don't finish it. I don't review anything I didn't finish, ergo, most of the reviews I put up here are pretty much positive across the board because I finished them and was happy with the story. Makes sense, right?
I was liking this novella - it was a fun twist on the original fairytale and for such a short story Myles did a good job of giving us enough to not feel too terribly rushed or short-changed. Of course don't expect great character development or a lengthy courtship (just not possible in this many pages), but I've read enough romance novellas to say I felt like this one didn't annoy me with how quick everything happens or how little we get to know (and therefore care about) the characters, so job well done there. I'm also a big fan of fairytale rewrites and so far I've enjoyed how this author plays with the genre. Where this went wrong, however, was the ending... without spoilers I'll just say I felt genuinely cheated, plain and simple - what a let down. This is the second book I've read in the series (the first being one of the longer stories) and I wasn't pleased with that ending either... This author isn't perfect but she does a great job in my opinion of balancing quirky humour with steamy romance and the twists she gives to these fairytales are fun and inventive, so I really hope she works on improving her endings... it's one thing to want your characters to get their whimsical happy ever after, but these stories feel like she got to the endings and honestly just gave up, and all the writing leading up that point deserves better than that. Heck, Muffin deserves better than that! Please write better endings to Muffin's wacky fairy godmother "fixes".
I liked the twist in this one. I also liked that this heroine wasn’t mopey or whiny like most of the others. I really liked the hero. Like others I felt the end was a letdown- felt like the author (like Muffin) had other things to do and rushed the ending.
Ok now we are back to the fairy tales we know - Rapunzel
- The heroine was the innocent type and always looking to be on the optimistic side since she used to have a bad heart condition so basically she's always nice XD
- I liked how she met the hero and they clicked eighth away XD
- Thank god like the rest she didn't follow muffin's instructions and seduce the wrong guy cause the other guys sucked the hero was much much better
- I liked how the hero always thought of her and her safety and what was best for her
- I liked how the heroine gathered her courage to do anything possible so she might end up with the hero
I like the plot to this one and I like how she changes it from the dude coming to the girl's world and has the girl go to the guy's world. It didn't go like I thought it would which is a good thing. I liked the character she seemed real and cool and she didn't give up on breaking the curse even when her man left. She's strong character who is in a great book with a lovely twist on the Rapunzel theme.
Of the three stories in this bundle pack, I liked this one the best.
This story was about a girl that traded places with Rapunzel. She was stuck in her castle except the twist to this story was that the prince was not exactly what she was expecting. His guard, the handsome, muscular scotsman was.
I liked this story. Muffin's clearly unhinged and weird and a pretty poor excuse for a fairy godmother and I still don't like her but Hope was a pretty good sport about it all and cheerful and I just couldn't help but like her. It was still short and rushed of course but that was to be expected and I didn't let it diminish my enjoyment. Overall, it was a sweet story with a good HEA.

Like the others in this series... short, light, and dirty. This was probably my least favorite. The tale seemed overly stretched and the ending was not suitable. It was like the author couldnt figure out what to do, so she took the easy and obvious option. Still a good story though!
I liked this short and fun to read I did like the beauty and the beast and little mermaid better. It was kinda interesting that her hair grew in sunlight. Also she was strong and didn't want to sit around to be saved instead take care of it herself.
LOL I loved this one. It was so much fun. Muffin is a crazy hoot and I liked Callum. Took Hope a while that she could go out at night and not be bored. I swear these women from these stories forget they are more advanced and should be smarter. This was a fun read out of the series.
I simply could not put this book down. The dialogue was funny and quirky and so believable. There were a few minor editing problems, but I see those in most books nowadays. This is a simply fabulous read; I cannot recommend it highly enough. Just a little sad that it ended so fast !
Very cute fairytale. I love this Once Upon a Time Travel series. I did like this one but not as much as the others in the series. But definetly worth what I paid.
The story started out decently, but the ending was very lacking. Hope talks to who cursed her (for her own good of course) and because she fell in love, Muffins says ok, your uncursed.
A repunzle romance heck yes!!!! Totally recommend to anybody who loves fairy tale stories retold . Jill Myles always writes such great stories! Highly recommend!!
