This is a book that goes along with the Babylon 5 role-playing game. In some ways it's a really good book, and in others, it isn't.There is a wealth of information about the Minbari in the book, especially their history and caste structure. That part is very good.On the other hand, there are some problems:

1. There are a lot of typos in the book, and here-and-there a whole sentence that makes no sense.

2. The descriptions of the various warships, etc, are accompanied with photos from the Babylon 5 series, but are not linked necessarily to the type of ship being that is being described. This can make things confusing.

3. Also confusing is the structure of this book (and others in the series.) The reader will be going along reading about the race just like they would be reading a regular science-fiction story. Suddenly, there's a reference to the game; then it's back to regular material, then back to the game, and so on and so on.It would have been much better if these books had put all the “information” on the race in the front back of the book, and then added game-related information in the latter part of the book. It might have made the book very slightly larger, but it would have made it much more comprehensible. I'm sure many people would buy these books for the information itself, and not have any interest at all in the actual game.

Thus, the book may be interesting, but it's confusing and also schizophrenic in the way it is laid out.
