I bought a paper back version of this in 2016 and lost it on a plane trip. When I discovered it was now on Kindle, I bought it again and finished it.
It is the story of Jeff Grabosky making the commitment to run across America, California to NYC, about 3200 miles, while fulfilling prayer requests for strangers along the way!
It is a very spiritual book. As luck would have it, my second read followed my reading "The Mission Walker: I was given three months to live" by Edie Littlefield Sundby, an extraordinary account of a woman, diagnosed with multiple potentially fatal cancers, walking the Old Mission Trail from Baja Mexico to San Francisco! She is like the third person to have walked the whole trail in maybe 500 years! (If I recall, about 3,000 miles total, through mostly desert terrain.)
So I followed one spiritual book with completing another. I was very impressed!
I bought this book from =PR= after hearing a talk by Jeff and I got the book signed by Jeff. This book caught my attention because it was about two aspects of life that I am trying to focus on: running and faith. Jeff has brilliantly combined these two aspects of life by running and praying for others and himself. Additionally, he has completed an amazing feat that pushes the limits of human ability by running across the country while relying on God. The book is basically about each day, how each day of his run was, people he met on the journey and how he felt afterwards. The way his book was written sounds very much like our own faiths, where when we begin our pursuit, we mainly focus on the hardships, but as we progress, getting closer to God, the focus is shifted toward looking for God's blessings in everything and everywhere. This book has taught me to look for blessings in everything, instead of focusing on the negative aspects. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that is a Christian and a runner. Lastly, I'd just like to share Hebrews 12:1.
