The TILLIE, THE TOILER comic strip was one of the more successful of the “single working girl” strips, running from 1921-1959. Tillie had some success in other media, including reprint books starting in 1925, two films in 1927 and 1941, and this novelization of the strip in 1943. This is not a great novel or even a very good one, but it is serviceable and gives some sense of what the TILLIE comic strip was like.
