There is something I really like Diane Strong’s writing. It’s unfussy and flows elegantly. It has no clunky bits; the elements mesh easily. Strong knows how to build suspense quickly too – which she needs to do since this is a quite a short story, not a full-length novel.
‘Falcon Point’ is the second installment of the ‘Running Suspense’ series. Whereas in the first book, ‘The Run’, the central drama was driven by accident and circumstance, in ‘Falcon Point’ there is a very human catalyst.
I’m not going to stray into spoiler territory by giving anything away, but I will say I read it in one go. You will too.
This is a short running suspense story. It can be read in one sitting. Definitely not for the faint of heart! It will make you think twice about running alone!
Great short story. Good post-workout read. Very dynamic action with point of view jumping back and forth quickly between characters. Time to go download another from Diane!
