I always suggest going to an actual class before attempting any new fitness format from a book. The reason I say this is because this book seems to be written more for beginners. While it is a decent book, it’s not exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for something showing more of a variety of moves to add to my own classes I teach, but a decent chunk of the book is talking about Pilates basics (breathing, history, clothing, precautions, anatomy, etc.). Which are helpful in their own way, so I guess I can't be too upset about that.

My biggest issue comes from the positions shown. There really isn’t much helpful for those who already practice Pilates; it’s all pretty basic. I also found the “advanced pilates” section to be more intermediate, there wasn’t much “advanced” about it, but this may be because it is a book and it’s harder to really tell the person how they should be doing it or to show how the body should look in motion.

All in all, an okay read, but not really what I was looking for.

Not as good as the last Pilates book I got from the library, but I still liked it. It introduced some new exercises and Pilates terms, but it was basically the same info (and it was confusing because some of the advanced exercises in this book were the beginner ones in the other book 🤔.
