The year 2000 marked the 100th anniversary of the brilliant, controversial Irish poet and dramatist's death, and our Running Press Miniature Edition™ showcases his razor-sharp wit with quips and quotes culled from his books and plays, including The Picture of Dorian Gray, An Ideal Husband, and The Importance of Being Earnest.
Sheridan A. Morley (5 December 1941 − 16 February 2007) was an English author, biographer, critic and broadcaster. He was the official biographer of Sir John Gielgud and wrote biographies of many other theatrical figures he had known, including Noël Coward.
Morley was the eldest son of actor Robert Morley and grandson, via his mother Joan Buckmaster, of the actress Dame Gladys Cooper.
Wilde is great. This compendium is not. The introduction is loaded with errors and the typography is dreadful. In many cases both the background and the print are shifting hues of grey so the words disappear in the middle. A sad knockoff attempting to capitalize on genius.
Great little book of Oscar Wilde quotes! I bought it at a museum in London and we later visited his grave in Paris. He is also named in Westminster Abbey with all the other famous writers.
