The mullet-cut is a style in which the hair is short at the front coupled with a long mane at the back. Popular in the 1980s, entering the zeitgeist and becoming the hairstyle to have, the mullet is now in decline. The authors examine all areas of the phenomenon, from mullets in pop to advertising.
Business in the front, party in the back, existential crisis of identity and faith on the inside/10
From the second I laid eyes on this book I knew I had to have it. This book is literally everything and nothing all at the same time. It's got everything from fun historical trivia to fun sections to a literal overarching Batman parody. This book is a messy hodge podge cut paste book of one of the most intriguing hairstyles in the world and I absolutely adore it.
😂❤️ While I pretty much detest the "business in the front, party in the back" 'do in most of its incarnation, this book about it is delightful. Chockful of illustrations and tongue-in-cheek history.
A few hilarious pages, such as "Mullet Cuisine"... featuring the Twinkie~misu, and a comparison chart of Devil Dogs, Hostess Cupcakes, Yodels and other hyperlipidemic nightmares. The history on mullets is quite interesting, and the medieval tale of William of Cyrus (a.k.a. Billy Ray Cyrus) is brilliant. Kudos to the authors for including pics of Limahl and Andre Agassi, who admittedly made mullets fantastic. (Would've liked a pic of Duran Duran in there too!)
Takes me right back to junior year. Those hockey players sure were hot...kinda like Bristol's baby daddy!! HA HAHA HA HA! SOOOOOO glad I don't live in AK anymore! Thank you jeebus!
