But I still can’t stop thinking about you. I must have you. Completely. Frequently . . . and at all costs

After their emotionally traumatic parting at the end of the last episode they are both avoiding one another but Ian cannot get Francesca out of his mind. She haunts his every waking moment and also his dreams - he must have her. Francesca felt only shame at what had passed between them but, when faced with Ian wielding his incredible influence and wealth to manufacture a meeting between them, feelings she'd been trying to deny come rushing back to fell her. She cannot resist him and she agrees to enter into a relationship with him. He is offering her intense pleasure, multiple orgasms but no emotional connection.

I suspect I’ll lose a bit of my soul in this thing with you. I already have, just by the fact of my being here tonight,” he spoke intently, his stare boring into her. “I know I’ll take a piece of yours.

I have to confess that this e-serial has really grabbed my attention, more than any other to date. There's a certain ambience, it feels slightly muted and understated - almost like a film noir. I'm falling for Ian - he is that perfect mix of steely reserve and undeniable charm. Francesca is like heroin to him - she's like a drug that he can't go without. Something about her innocence calls to him like a siren song and he is powerless to resist.

Francesca is a little lost and overwhelmed by what is happening but is being guided by her intense physical reaction to Ian however much she tries to resist.

I'm so glad I continued with this one after my lukewarm reaction to the first novella - the writing vividly brings their world to life and I am being swept along.

★★★★1/2! Because You Are Mine series, book 1-8 of 8. Another whirlwind romance with a dominant & controlling, rich & sexy alpha male hero!

“Because You Are Mine” (Ian’s & Francesca’s story) is an 8-part series, released in the fall of 2012. Combined they make a 368-page read. Please note that the Omnibus will be released in March 2013.
And there will be a sequel to this series, “When I'm With You” (Lucien’s & Elise’s story) to be released in 8 weekly installments starting March 3, 2013 (series complete by April 23, 2013).

Since I am a reader in need of a HEA, I made sure I waited to read this series until all installments had been released. I read it in one sitting, thus I will review as a set.

Hero: Ian Noble/British/30 years old/mogul-playboy/$$$$/dark hair/blue eyes/dom
Heroine: Francesca Arno/American/23 years old/student-artist/red-gold hair/brown eyes/innocent

Francesca is a young artist, who entered her painting in a competition held by the billionaire, Ian Noble. She wins the competition and is commissioned to create the centerpiece painting for the lobby of Ian’s new Chicago Skyscraper. The book opens up at the reception held in her honor. Ian and Francesca are introduced and she feels in instant attraction (recognizing he is out of her league) while he is intrigued, but reserved. He knows she is too innocent for the likes of him. Francesca is a bohemian; she is naïve, sweet and kind. She has a strained relationship with her parents, never quite measuring up. She lives with her three male roommates who are very protective of her. Ian, on the other hand, is the rich and extremely successful business mogul; he is enigmatic, worldly, handsome, sexy and oh so dominant and too “corrupted” for her. But there is much more to it, because Ian is full of secrets. For starters: The reception was not their first encounter. Four years prior Francesca had painted “The Cat That Walks By Himself”. As it turns out Ian had been the inspiration for that painting. She had been sad to have to sell it. And Ian had bought and tracked her down…

Ian tries to fight his attraction to Francesca, but it’s a losing battle and so their whirlwind romance begins, taking us across the ocean while Ian and Francesca get to know each other and have lot of scorching hot sex. But as Ian’s secrets are revealed, his mysterious past continues to cast shadows over their relationship. Their love is challenged and their future threatened.

I thoroughly enjoyed Ian’s & Francesca’s story. And I very much look forward to Lucien’s & Elise’s story in “When I'm With You”.

If you loved Fifty and Bared to You, you're going to like this series, maybe not quite as much.

These 2 chapter mini books tell the story of Francesca, the innocent, and Ian, the dominant. Francesca is an artist who wins a competition for her painting, sponsored by Ian's company. Ian is a controlling millionaire, who wants Francesca before he's even met her.

Whilst I like the idea of having a book serial, its kind of frustrating that I have to wait 5 days before I can read the next one. I know that if I had all the books in one go I'd devour it in one sitting.

The other slightly irritating part of this serial is that by the time I've purchased all the books, it will have cost at least 3 times more than a complete book with the same amount of pages. So whilst I'll finish this serial, I don't think I'll purchase books like this again.

I am really enjoying this story but am SO disappointed in the way that it is being released! $1/per chapter is simply price gouging. I'm invested in the story so I will finish the series but I will never buy a book being released this way again. What a shame.

Join me on my blog every Tuesday through September 18 2012, where Beth Kery will sit down for an interview, answer some readers questions from the week before and give away an installment of Because You Are Mine! (US/UK) Ana's Attic Sexy Tales

Because You Are Mine 3, Because You Haunt Me by Beth Kery is the third of an eight part serial novel that is clearly marketed to the Fifty Shades of Grey market. I have read Beth Kery before, and enjoyed most of the books she has written. This is no exception. So far, it’s pretty darn good. But I can’t help but compare it to Fifty Shades when I read it. It’s just a bit too similar a story, but written in a completely different style.

While Fifty Shades was told in first person with words like “down there”, and “Holy Crap” (a lot) and “hot” used over and over; Beth’s is NOT written in 1st person, so we have parts like:

“She could feel his firm testicles pressing against the top of her mons and the dense ridge of his cock…..”

Written much more eloquently, no?

But I find myself more comfortable reading the “holy crap” and “down there”. It made Ana seem like the every-girl. Real & approachable. But I know how many people complained about just that. So this book works well for those who are looking for a more traditionally written erotic BDSM read.

In this installment, Ian wins Francesca back because he can’t stay away as much as he tries. Then he immediately whisks her off to Paris where it gets super hot on the plane, and begins to get even hotter in a museum.

This installment of Because You Are Mine was my favorite so far. It was super sexy, and I am starting to fall for Ian and wish I were Francesca. But I am finding the similarities to Fifty Shades of Grey & Bared To You a little distracting while reading this. I am looking forward to the next, as it may have been 2 events from just this installment that made me feel that way. Number one, they were traveling on a private jet with a bedroom. Number two, Francesca asked herself “why was he so convinced he was tainted?”. Small things, I know, but they rang very familiar. The one thing I really enjoy about this book is all the art, I like that unique feature.

I will not be giving this a star rating again until the end (I had to here on goodreads though). But the heat rating was a 5!!

I LOVED Fifty Shades of Grey, I know so many do. So if you want more like it, this is the book to get.

Gahhhhh *pulls hair out* the torture of waiting for each one of these to come out. Then I devour it and I am left waiting for my next fix. I swear I'm not shaking in a corner. Promise.

Why I loved this installment? Well lets see... Ian has become completely larger than life. The man is not only a billionaire, but his family sits on the board of a prestigious art museum in Paris, as well as owning a palace? Ohh and he owns his own plane, you know, to travel in style. If you have a thing for powerful man that can have anything they want, and they want you, then you'll love Ian. Of course, he also looks really good in a suit.

Then how can you not love a book where a guy takes you on a date after hours to the art museum, and says the following while you are sitting in front of a well known Aphrodite statue:

“I thought I could wait. I can’t,” he muttered, and she heard the harsh regret in his tone.
He looked into her face as his hands caressed her thighs and hips, and she felt herself heating the cool marble.
“If I don’t taste you now, I think I’ll die. And if I taste you, I won’t be able to stop. I’m going to have to fuck you here and now.”

And the rest of what happens there I'll leave to your imagination.

I know a lot of people are not fans of having to wait for the next two chapters every week but I am enjoying it. It's driving me crazy but it's different and I don't mind it. Now if only we could get the author to not leave us hanging when things are about to get interesting every week maybe I could keep my sanity. Be warned... once you start reading this you won't be able to stop!

4.5/5 STARS

"Because You Haunt Me" starts in the aftermath of Ian and Francesca's brief, though intense separation (for lack of a better word). Because Francesca haunts him (yes, I'm shamelessly using the titles of the books in my reviews. idgaf), Ian can't spend another minute without her, and makes her an extremely hot, though rather outrageous offer.

He wants to get her out of his system, and he is aware that a quick fuck won't do it. But he goes for it, and he tells Cesca straight on that there will be no serious relationship. He promises her sex. Just sex. Great sex. That's all.

“It just won’t do,” he said. “I know that I’ll hurt you. I know there’s a good chance you’ll end up despising me . . . fearing me, even. But I still can’t stop thinking about you. I must have you. Completely. Frequently . . . and at all costs.”

“I suspect I’ll lose a bit of my soul in this thing with you. I already have, just by the fact of
my being here tonight,” he spoke intently, his stare boring into her. “I know I’ll take a piece of yours.”

What Ian isn't quite expecting is the dimension of his desire for Francesca. Anything and everything she does amazes him. He's a very closed person, and she has a hard time believing the things he says to her, how beautiful she is and how much he wants her, but the crazy amount of chemistry around them just might convince her...

"It’s a nice fantasy, isn’t it? (...) That we could wash away our sins. I just keep compounding mine, Francesca,” he said quietly.

As Ian's enigmatic personality keeps getting more and more mysterious and the heat rises off to unbearable temperatures...

Off to book four!

Seriously, I think Beth Kery has a contract out to kill me! She ends the story at the best parts!!! My only blessing was this week after finishing part two, I had part three to read. After I finished part three, I was lost. I had no part four.

Part two: This section shows you the domineering side of Ian (and I loved it!) He knows that she is too good for him and he is willing to say or do anything to keep her away but he still drags himself back to her. To me, this part takes off when Ian barges into the tattoo parlor and demands Francesca not to taint her beautiful skin, he removes her from the shop and gives her the option to get in his car where he will take her to his home for her punishment. Ohhhh, the punishment. Just read it.

Part three: A lot happens in this section. You get to see Francesca stand up for herself and remove Ian from her life (besides going there to paint while he is away.) I felt the need to applaud her. However, when Ian buys out the club that she works in just so he can speak to her, you learn another side of him; a more intimate side that explains his broodiness. After this, I am only going to write one word. You will know what I mean when you read it…Paris!!!

Bring on part 4…and quickly please!

Well, I started this installment, but stopped because I couldn't get into the story, I forgot where we left off on the previous book and was a bit lost at the beginning of the story...I wanted to skip pages, since it wasn't grabbing my attention, but then there would be nothing left to read. I think, if I have time later, I will revisit the first 2 installments and see if I can get more into the story. Another option is to just wait until all the installments are out and then read it.

Books are too short for me to feel right grading individually so this grade is for the overall series.

Thanks to my friend for gifting me with this serial. I was too cheap and grumpy about the length v. price to ever pay for it myself!

I was extremely hesitant to pick up this series by Beth Kery because I wasn't a big fan at all of her previous book I read, Wicked Burn.

Needless-to-say I ventured into it with wary hesitation. I was at first relieved that each book was a sort of short story that continues into the next. This was good when I discovered this because I realized that if I didn't like it, I wouldn't feel like I had wasted to much of my time.

Well… I worked through the first one and before I realized it, it was finished and I was opening part 2 and then 3 and then before I even realized I was done with 8.

I really enjoyed this series. It was completely intoxicating and drew me in without me even realizing I was hooked. Until I got the the end of the first part, I was still cautious but as soon as it was finished, I was excited to get to the next part.

Francesca is an amazingly talented artist who wins the prestigious commission to create the centerpiece painting for the grand lobby of Noble’s new Chicago skyscraper. The moment they meet, Ian takes to Francesca. His interest in her is completely out of character for him and so begins the battle within him to either take her or let her free.

This book was in a very slight way similar to Fifty Shades of Grey, but not exactly the same. There were moments where I thought 'ah it's the same that happened in Fifty' and there were moments that I felt were unique to the Because You Are Mine Series. It was not stolen from the popular series, but rather as if it there was no choice but to lead down a similar path.

I also prefer writing to be simple. And by that I mean that the use of describing verbs don't over-shadow the scene. This book contained a number of that and it bugged me out a bit. Other than that it was a great series of short stories that flow into each other. I don't really get why they were split and not just done in one book, since each book is only about 80 pages of so, but anyway.

A great, erotic series exploring the Dom / Sub relationship that's become widely popular at the moment. I enjoyed it.

I'm on the fence about this book. Two days after Francesca rushes out from Ian's bedroom, he's made himself come to her home in hopes that she'll talk to him. No such luck, she runs away without talking. Francesca goes to paint after ensuring that he's out of town - but of course he's there. He apologizes - sort of? - and tells her that she's not his type. She takes that as an insult and storms out. In an attempt to - I don't know what to be honest - he comes to her place of work and confronts her.

This is where my opinion of the book went downhill. She's almost like a kitten drinking milk out of his hands. She gobbles up everything he says and when he highhandedly demands that she come with him to Paris because he cannot wait a few more days to get into a bed, she goes home, gets a few hours of restless sleep and jets off to Paris with him.

Paris is a romantic city, no doubt about it. And I was kind of hoping that he brought her there to woo her romantically, but no such luck. He's busy working on the way there, demands that she strip and sleep on the flight there - not even allowing her to sleep on the bed that was a few feet away. Then, takes her virginity in a museum. A museum! Talk about a complete lack of control. This is where the book ends. I'm hoping the next one will be better.

Wow and OMG. This book is just so erotic that it should top the charts. The first novella Because you Tempt Me was very slow going. I now really do understand the need to set up the plot and introduce the characters. It takes time. So the first novella was not that great but I still gave it 4 stars because the first erotic scene was just so hot. The couple Francesca Arno and Ian Noble are fencing and he being the expert that he is playfully slips his blade under the strap to her tank top and quickly slices through it. Later, once he is very close to her he cannot control his urge to kiss her and then in passion pulls her tank top/bra to expose her breast quickly he covers her breast with his mouth and well you just have to read the first novella and the rest will be history. The whole book is even more descriptive of the BDSM sex scenes.

I joined Goodread this year in April and not until this book have I read and learned more about the devises that are used for sexual pleasure. The book is very descriptive and therefore it is easy to visualize the sexual tools and how they are used and the manner that they help each person achieve the goal of sexual satisfaction. I now have a wish list of items that I will be buying in the near future.

"Because You Are Mine Part III: Because You Haunt Me" by Beth Kery is the 3rd part of a novella that's been divided into 8 parts.
In part 3, Ian knows just how innocent Francesca is (maybe too innocent for someone like him) and finds himself struggling with whether or not to pursue her. He knows it's best just to let her go. For good. But at the same time he can't stop thinking about her. He must have her...possess her...completely and at all costs.
After that night at Ian's penthouse, Francesca avoids Ian until he confronts her with an interesting proposition: a purely physical relationship. Francesca agrees to that. To explore their attraction to one another but of course on Ian's terms.
Since Ian has a meeting in Paris that he can't delay and the things between them has been decided, he wants Francesca to come with him to Paris...promising a special and unforgettable night...

I loved and enjoyed this part as well. Maybe the only thing that I didn't like so much was where it ended. I mean stopping right where it was getting so interesting. When I noticed that's the ending of part 3, I really was saying out loud (to myself) "NOOOO!!".

so first she feels...
"How could she be so furious at a man and still want him so much it was like some kind of biological mandate, like breathing?"

so that so ...you know okay ..but then
"Her heart now threatened to burst out of her rib cage, as if it were on the front line of the war that raged inside her."

which is accepted ...then she comes accepting all her offers with no negotiations
though he did broke her ...how she trust him blindly like that or its more about desire

but again she put it down like this
Was this all part of her payment for agreeing to let Ian possess her sexually for a period of time? The thought sickened her a little.

but she did that because...
Hadn’t she sold her soul to the devil in order to fully experience his touch?

i intended to give it four but the whole trip to FRANCE IS GOOD & sure the visit to the fancy restaurant, the museum & the one and only statue Aphrodite of Argos taking a bath that was a HIT
and how can i forget clearing the bar just to talk to her

Well I finally finished this last night. I lost interest the day I started it & it kind of got forgotten I really couldn't be bothered with it because there was just this little bit that really rubbed me up the wrong way. I do enjoy stories where the man is rather dominant but I'm not a huge fan of weak women. I know that's the type of story this is (and she did agree to it all beforehand) and I knew that before but I was really into this after the first two parts and then he pretty much tells her that he wants her naked for the duration of the flight so he knows she's available to him and that's where my interest took a huge dive! I don't know why, it's silly really but that just really annoyed me! Maybe it was because she didn't even put up a fight about it, she just does it like it's the normal thing to do!

For me, the characters don't fit into the world they've been thrown into and I kind of felt like they both changed a bit too much in this part. I think I'm ending my journey into Francesca and Ian's world here!

Why is it in these erotic romances that the heroine always knows so much about classical music, and can pick out the exact composer and the exact piece which is playing. And why does the male always LISTEN to classical music?? why not rock or dance or metal? It just makes all the stories so SIMILAR and unbelievable. As much as I am enjoying the story, the music taste and the young heroine knowing so much about classical music makes me a little bit nauseous.

" Classical music resounded sedately from the surround sound stereo. Bach - the Bradenberg concertos, she recognized after a few seconds." Really only a few seconds into a classical music piece you'd know the exact piece and composer as if that's what she listens to all the time at home? Do all virgins listen to classical music? because it certainly seems that way between Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James, and Because You are Mine by Beth Kery.

This book shared more inside for Ian, how he shut himself from everyone and he’s simple pleasures. He truly is a very interesting character, especially when we got to understand better what he suffered on the previous chapters.

Now he took Francesca to Paris with him, because he can’t stay away from her and even while working he still find time to show her beauty and art. I loved how romantic he is the museum, even if he don’t know.

I’m liking this book more after each chapter and now Ian is finally enjoying himself but of course worrying about Francesca, he just can’t forget how naïve she is.

Okay, I had these listed as on my kindle, but truth is, they were on my friend’s kindle, and one day at work mine died, and she was kind enough to allow me to hijack hers.
Well, I found this little read, which made me think I could finish it within a few hours. First, let me say it was a struggle to finish at all- the story is short, yes, but so much so, that you can’t really get to know the characters, and I just didn’t think it was relatable.
Not to mention that its like $1.99 … for what, I ask you?!

I say skip this, and just re-read 50 shades, because let’s face it, that’s all anyone can be looking for in a story like this, is a cheap imitation.

A very good, heartfelt story though the ending was a little anti-climatic. With that aside I enjoyed the growth of Ian and Francesca.  However, I will never purchase another serial from this author, I do not care for the fact the same promo for Wicked Burn took up the last 25% of all either chapters of the serial.  If a promo was necessary to insert, then different ones should have been inserted into each section, it is not as if readers are only going to purchase and read individual sections of this serial.

I really shouldn't be spending $1.99 for each installment but this sh*t is addicting like crack. Crack I tell ya! Ian Noble you impressed me with that custom made paddle with mink fur in the previous installment. Now you're showing off you toys like a freaking airline jet as a private plane. With?!?! You really made that much off social media? I should google to see if Mark Zuckerberg has his own 747.

Liking the third part more than part II. I think my ups & downs are due to the story being told in pieces. So hopefully, as the story progresses & I become more familiar with the characters, it will keep getting easier to read this book in increments. Part III is moving back up on the star scale for me, easily a 4 star read. Also, a nice little sexy scene to end with...shame, shame Ms Kery for teasing us like that. Can't wait for Part IV.

I like this series but i have no idea why I"m paying a $1/chapter. This should be outlawed, despite the fact that I'm now invested and must go on. But I will not do this again, just in case there are other authors out there thinkng this method of publishing is to be repeated. Leaves a real bad taste in the readers mouth, and thus I won't comment on the story at this point. You got my money and that's all you're getting.

From what I can tell, this is just a novel broken up into 2 chapter segments. Honestly, I would have preferred to just read the whole novel instead of having it broken up.
The third installment kept up with the intensity and speed of the developing relationship. It's also still reading quite a bit like the Fifty Shades books at this point, although Ian doesn't seem to be as "messed up" a character as Christian.

BECAUSE YOU HAUNT ME is the third instalment in Beth Kery's BECAUSE YOU ARE MINE serial novellas. Although I read this series in the original serial format, the entire 8 part series has been released as a single book.

Once again, Beth Kery furthers the relationship between Ian and Francesca but in doing so deepens the mystery behind the demon's that control Ian throughout his daily life. Francesca knows that to love the man she must accept the beast within.
