I've been loving this series! The heroes are so sweet to the heroines. I mean, yes, they are demons, but they are cinnamon rolls to the max.

When she was a child, she was brought to a duke and his wife, and let's just say she wasn't treated like a ward should be. She perseveres though, and a meeting at her home changes everything for her.

Vassago meets Greta at the dukes home. In my opinion, he's instantly charmed by her and impressed at her talents in chemistry. He offers her a chance to learn and/or teach at his brothers school.

Greta has some mystery about her, though. How'd she end up at the dukes? There's also some other interesting things that happen, but of course, I'm not going to spoil it. The other characters from Book 1 and the novella (yes, there's a novella!) Pop in, of course, and we get to meet some new characters.

I liked how Vassago and Gretas relationship progressed throughout the story and how attracted each one was.

I've recently started to get more into fantasy, and this is already one of my favorites, I was captivated from the very first page. It was a perfect blend of magic and romance. I read this as a standalone, but after reading this, I'm looking forward to reading the first one as well. I personally really liked Greta and Vassago, their chemistry in the beginning made me want to know more about them and how their story would progress later on. I decided to read this book because of the term "cinnamon roll", it was used to describe Vassago and it's a term that I was intrigued by because I'd never associate that word with a demon, but I can safely say that Vassago is very much a cinnamon roll.

The Demon’s Discovery is book two in this series of Demon Princes, and another enchanting story that returns the reader to the Collegium d’Arcan and this time with Rylan’s brother Vassago in the staring role.

MFC Greta has been a ward in the household of Henrik Belette from childhood and then turned employee in adulthood. A chance encounter with Vassago, a guest of Henrik’s soon brings her the possibility of leaving the Belette household and joining the Collegium to further her interests in Chemistry and Alchemy.

When the Belette’s arrange a surprise marriage for Greta without care for what she wants Vassago steps in to extricate her from the situation and bring her to the Collegium.

Neither of them realizing yet that a mate bond has slowly been gathering force between them.

I loved this new story which was a captivating well written narrative of mystery, intrigue, romance, drama, adventure, surprises, and together provided a wonderful sensuous read.

I received an eARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I knew before starting this book that it could be read as a standalone but I've loved it so much that I have already started reading Book 1 (in which the MMC Vassago briefly appears).
It's lovely seeing both MC treating each other with respect and having a healthy relationship.
At first, Greta may be read as a cliché character, poor orphan girl victimized by those supposed to have taken care of her but that feeling soon disappeared, don't let the first we learn about her character dismiss you.

Pretty good book. It was medium paced in regards to story and plot. It's part of a series but can be read as a standalone. The author does well to make sure the reader understands things even if they haven't read the other books in the series. I will say the book could be slow at some points. Do love that the MMC was very cinnamon roll like without overdoing it & will to revenge FMC without also overdoing it. Overall a good book if you want a quick read.

The Demon’s Discovery is a sweet story. Yes, there are demons, gargoyles, witches, and fae. But under all that, it’s a pretty sweet story of fated mates. I love an excellent Fated Mates story. Vassago is a demon but is one of the “cinnamon roll” kinds. He and Greta together are adorable. The story went by reasonably quickly, though it had 475 pages. It didn’t feel overly fantasy/paranormal for those not in that genre. I enjoyed it.

I certainly enjoyed reading this story primarily because the relationship between the FMC, Greta, and the MMC, Vassago, was so HEALTHY.

It had honestly been rare for me to read a book nowadays where the main couple are actual mature people who navigates the world, their lives, and their relationships the way an adult would.

First of all, Vassago was hot af. Second, he was a powerful demon prince and not to be messed with, and third, HE WAS A CINNAMON ROLL and a wife guy. Despite this, he definitely takes charge of situations and ehem in the bedroom, but he was a softie overall! I love him!!!!

“I will always recognize those two distinct parts of my life, now. Before you, and after.” - Vassago

Greta was 30 years old, which was rare to find in romantic books and was so refreshing, and she was a really strong character. She dealt with so much pain all her life but she remained steadfast in her interests and was so open in a better future. Usually when characters had been through traumatizing life, they were always needed to be “saved” or forced to be saved by those around them. NOT GRETA. She was so game to change her life and take charge of her future. I also absolutely adore her!!!!

I really enjoyed the development of the storyline and I was so happy how it ended.

Thank you for giving me a free copy!

I thoroughly enjoyed "A Demon's Discovery" by L. Alexander and found it to be just as delightful as the first novel and accompanying novella in the series. Greta, the protagonist, is a compelling character with her resilience and determination to pursue her scientific interests despite facing significant challenges. The slow-burn romance with Vassago is sweet and enjoyable, but it's the multiple mysteries surrounding their pasts that truly hooked me, keeping me engaged throughout.

The world-building in this book is great and I appreciate the author's ability to create a fantasy world that feels immersive and enticing. The incorporation of Stone Kin and the introduction of another Demon Prince added depth to the narrative, and I'm eager to explore more of their stories in future books.

What sets L. Alexander apart for me is the skillful handling of mature and complex characters. The love between the main characters feels natural and delicious, and the well-written intimate scenes added a layer of depth to the romance.

One aspect that particularly delighted me was the inclusion of our beloved couples from previous novels, Calla and Rylan, as well as Grace and Magnus. Seeing them integrated into the story brought a sense of continuity and familiarity, making it feel like revisiting old friends. This further enriched the reading experience for me and allowed me to connect more with this book as a whole.

In summary, "A Demon's Discovery" is a well-crafted fantasy romance that successfully combines intriguing plotlines, well-developed characters, and a richly imagined world. L. Alexander's writing style, devoid of typical romance novel pitfalls, has solidified them as one of my favorite authors, and I look forward to diving into more of their works in the future. This novel has earned a solid four stars from me.

I absolutely loved this book (and this interconnected series). We briefly met Vassago in book one of the series, The Demon’s Deal and now he gets his very own book! Now, I don’t normally read a lot of “cinnamon roll” MMCs, I generally prefer mine dark and extremely morally grey, but I can’t help but love Vassago. He’s the sweetest Prince of Hell you’ll ever encounter. Then we have our MFC, Greta. She’s a 30 year old orphan being given the Cinderella treatment (but the crappy part of Cinderella before she meets the Prince at the ball and the glass slippers and and all that jazz) by the “adoptive” family she’s lived with/basically been an indentured slave for since childhood (though I would like to note that Greta’s little “sister” Bea is not horrible like her parents and genuinely loves Greta).

After a chance encounter Vassago and Greta embark on a truly adorable love story filled with life altering discoveries, life changing experiences, found family, recovered memories, and so much more. This truly is reminiscent of the good old fashioned fairytales where the Prince saves the day, except that it’s not just Vassago doing the rescuing. It’s truly a partnership between our MMC & MFC along with our rather large cast of supporting characters.

This is a story about love persevering and overcoming. The power of family, friendship, and community and how we’re all much stronger than we give ourselves credit for.

If you’re looking for a heartwarming tale of love with mature characters, a cinnamon roll MMC, a smart and resourceful MFC, and a whole side cast of lively gargoyles among other creatures, check out this book!

The demon Vassago has been hired to find a missing necklace for the not-so-well-to-do Belette family. In exchange, he will be able to finally regain ownership of Lilith's grimoire. In his search, he discovers Greta, the emotionally and physically abused and discounted Belette ward. Due to her interest in chemistry and alchemy, Vassago brings her to the Collegium d'Arcan so she can further explore her studies. As Greta and Vassago grow closer, Greta's past becomes more important as she finds herself abruptly engaged to a mysterious stranger and involved in a plot to overthrow a kingdom.

Greta makes a compelling protagonist, refusing to let her extreme narcolepsy hold her back from her scientific endeavors. As she finds out more about her unknown past, she pursues healing for herself without expectation. While healing would be beneficial, she is willing to work through her health set-backs to get what she wants. She is also surprisingly willing to fight for what she wants, given her brow-beaten upbringing. Vassago's struggles with his own curse add an interesting flavor to his perspective, and helps humanize him.

The Demon's Discovery happens shortly after the events of the Demon's Deal, and builds off of the previous book. We get to see the further adventures of the characters in this world with enough variety in story telling to keep it interesting. Alexander writes a captivating tale of love and healing with hints of cinderella with a vampiric twist. An utterly enjoyable read.

Greta, the female lead, is an orphan who was “fostered” by a noble family until she was old enough to be an unpaid servant to them. Now thirty, she has spent her whole life hiding from the world for her own “protection”. Then she accidentally collided with Vassago, the male demon lead, who has taken a commission to locate a piece of antique jewellery that has been missing for years. Vassago is immediately intrigued by Greta and invites her to participate in his brother’s school of magic where he is also an instructor.

But there’s a lot more to Greta than is first apparent and so much she doesn’t know about her own history…

This long story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a detailed, complex, slow burn, fantasy romance that actually took me several attempts to read with breaks because it is so intricate. I enjoyed Vassago’s compassion and care for Greta, as well as how he was enthralled and intrigued by her. I enjoyed Greta’s dawning self-confidence and her joy in following her own interests. I enjoyed the relationship and character development. I enjoyed the intimate scenes, once they got there, though I did find this was MUCH slower burn than I usually enjoy. I also really enjoyed the integrated secondary characters, many of whom have or will have their own stories. The story stands alone, though there are references to previous stories.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Let me start by saying I've been waiting very impatiently for this book! After Rylan/Calla's book and Magnus/Grace's novella, I couldn't wait to see more of Vassago! His appearance in the Demon's Deal had me squealing and swooning and I knew his own book just would not disappoint. And I'm so happy to say I was right! From the meet cute with Greta and on, I knew I was going to be in love with him. My favorite thing is the way he lets Greta take charge-- he doesn't hover, he doesn't interfere, he doesn't dominate. He lets her be her own independent woman which definitely helps her later in the book! But don't worry-- when shes in danger, or he finds out someone has hurt her-- he's alllllllll alpha posessive revenge demon! This book hit all the spots for me-- adorable cinnamon roll hero, possessive hero, bad a$$ women in STEM heroine, found family, you name it, it's got it. It's a perfect addition to this series and with once again leaves me impatiently wanting to know more about the main character in the next book-- he seems like a gooooood time! Oh, and I love how L.Alexander is weaving storylines and plots throughout the series-- it's so fun to see how this world ties together in more ways than we think so far!

Grab this one ASAP!!

It took me longer than I hoped to finish The Demon's Discovery, but it wasn't because I didn't enjoy the story but because life has just been extremely hectic, and I wasn't always in the right head space to read. I finally managed to catch a break and the last two days I have spent every moment I could devouring this book.

I thought Greta and Vassago's story was really interesting. And while I thought their romance was sweet and enjoyable, I think the multiple mysteries surrounding Greta and Vassago were what really hooked me. Although one mystery was left un-solved but I hope it gets resolved in either the next Demon Prince's book or in the next Gargoyle Knights book.

I absolutely adored the found family aspect and the fact that we got to meet more of the Stone Kin. I think those were my favorite moments in the story. I also enjoyed the introduction of another Demon Prince and I'm looking forward to his story. Based on the little bit I've read of him I have a feeling he'll be my favorite. I'm looking forward to L. Alexander's next novel.

Okay, so I want to start off by saying I truly loved L. Alexander’s “The Demon’s Discovery.” This is the second book in her The Demon Princes series, and it’s Vassago and Greta’s story.

Vassago and Greta’s first meeting happened by chance, but as soon as he lays eyes on her, he isn’t able to think of anyone but her. It was the “he falls first” trope at its finest, and I loved that about this book.

Vassago was such a swoony hero. I loved how possessive and protective he was when it came to Greta. I also thought it was really sweet that he rescued her from her previous employers and was so determined to give her the life she deserved once he did.

And Greta! I thought Greta was a super sweet and kindhearted heroine, but she was also wicked smart, and there were definitely times where she used that to her advantage, something that I was really impressed by.

Vassago and Greta’s chemistry was off the charts, but considering they’re fated mates, it’s to be expected. I fell in love with their story, and I’ve always enjoyed everything about this world that L. Alexander has created. I can’t wait to see who will be the next one to fall!

This book could be read as a stand alone but it is best read as part of the series. The Demon's Discovery builds upon the universe and has heavy ties with the characters in the previous books. Greta grew up an orphan who loved science but was berated and mistreated by the family who took her in. A chance encounter with Vassago, the man hired by her employer completely changes the course of her life and her understanding of her past.

This book greatly expands upon the universe created in The Demon's Deal and The Gargoyle's Grace. This book embodies hurt/comfort and helping your partner heal and grow as a partner. Vassago and Greta are a sweet couple who support each other through personal trials as outside circumstances threaten everything they are building together. I really enjoy the empowerment of the female characters in this series.

This is an enjoyable but heavier read. I love this universe and how the various characters are woven through each of the stories. I can't wait to read the next 2 books.

Demon Prince Vassago Feland has been on a decades long search to find and acquire Lilith's grimoire, a book supposedly containing a cure for the particular curse he is under. Having finally located the grimoire, he must now obtain a specific oval gem necklace that his client requires in trade for the book.

While at the client's home Vassaga encounters Greta who was originally a ward of the clients but was now reduced to bound staff. She is the biggest surprise of his life on earth as it becomes apparent she is his fated mate. Greta is unassuming, grateful for what she has and realistic about what she doesn't have; she has been mistreated since she was a small child and accepts her lot. It takes discovery, pain, trust and faith to become all she is destined to be. She is, in fact, foreordained to be The Alchemist, a special talent the world has been expecting.

The journey of Vassago and Greta is an incredible love story mixed with magical beings, a superb story of mystery and danger and world's colliding. This is the second book I've read by this author and I am so excited to have discovered such high caliber story telling.

The Demon's Discovery by L. Alexander is book two in The Demon Princes Series. This is a Fated Mates Fantasy & Paranormal Romance. I’ve read books from this author before so I already knew I was going to love this book. After reading this book description I couldn’t wait to dig into it. I was instantly addicted after the first few chapters… It was so good! I was such a fan of Greta and Vassago and their chemistry together. I really enjoyed that even though Greta had a medical condition, she continued to work through it and to never let it hold her back. Plus she fights for what she wants! What can I say with Vassago? He’s described as a cinnamon roll and yes that fits him perfectly. I loved his character and all the dynamic he brings with his own situation. The themes of love and healing is spread through the book. The Demon’s Discovery expands on the world built in the first book and I was absolutely all for it. Amazingly written with a captivating plot. I can’t recommend this series and author enough!

Didn’t quite hit its full potential

I enjoy this world and these characters, but I felt that this story needed a little more TLC before hitting the shelves. It is not as well written as the first two set in this world (The Demon’s Deal and The Gargoyle’s Grace), and unfortunately it has some issues with pacing that makes this very promising story a bit long winded at times. There is one revelation early in the book that is very underplayed, while the middle section seems to be quite lengthy when you are reading it. It is also a bit confusing initially as to how competent Greta (FMC) is supposed to be - very, but hindered by circumstances is the answer, but she initially presents as enthusiastic but inept when it comes to her science/alchemy hobby. Having said all that, it is an enjoyable story, and I do look forward to reading more in this series.

Full disclosure: I was given an ARC of the book, however this review is my own honest opinion.

I had never read a demon book quite like this before, and because of that, it had intrigued me even more.

It has the feeling of a regency romance, with dukes and lords... and a Prince. And while slow, it never made me want to put it down.

The plot twists were interesting and ones that I never saw coming, especially when it came to the FMC... which made me love it even more.

I hadn't read the first book in the series, and while there were parts that I was a bit confused on, it didn't seem to take away anything from this story.

I definitely recommend this book for anyone even remotely interested, it is just that good.

Love it!

Slow burn. Low stakes. World building. Gorgeous gritty people. Cool side characters and familiars. This author is becoming a favorite. This is my second book of theirs and it's great sexual tension, well developed, complex, and mature characters, intriguing plot and beautiful descriptions of places and events and emotions. All the things that annoy me in other books are just missing in this author's writing--there's no drama or immature tantrums or scheming, no plot holes or OW, no angst or miscommunication or TSTL or over-reacting. The love feels natural and delicious. Lovely story and I'll be reading the rest of their books too! This world is the first fantasy world I've wanted to live inside in ages.

Fated Mates with Vampire vibes

This was a story of two who are fated to be together, but have to go through trials to reach their HEA. I loved the way the L. Alexander wrote Greta and Vassago. Greta was handed a crappy start to life and just went with what she had. She never complained. I enjoyed seeing her grow into herself even more with. Vassago encouraging her on. Vassago is a Cursed Demon who is looking to find the person who cursed him and make him reverse it. In looking for his cure he finds his fated mate in Greta. These two make each other better and bring out the better stronger side in one another. I also liked that she included the characters from the other books in the series. I love getting to revisit them and see them grow.

Such a good book!

I highly recommend this series as a whole. The characters are very fleshed out. The story itself is very well written. You'll find yourself feeling like you're in this world as you're reading and be sad when it ends and you have to come out.

I adored Gretta and Vassago. They play off each other very well and make you want even more time with them. Gretta's story isn't fully complete here, at least not in my opinion. The "mystery" we're left with that's connected to her is left unanswered. Buuuut... I'm almost certain I know the answer and can't wait until it comes to light.

Definitely give this series a try. I promise you'll love it!

- Second in a series

- Paranormal romance

- Fated mates

- Cinnamon roll MMC

Although this is the second book in the Demon Princes series, it can be read as a standalone. Vassago, the MMC, made an appearance in book 1, but it was brief.

Even though the FMC, Greta has not had an easy life, she did not come off as anything but a strong and grounded character. It was a refreshing change as I have been reading a lot of books lately with FMCs that always need saving.

This book also contained some of my favorite creatures - gargoyles! I am hoping they get stories as well.

The spice level in this story was very nice. I liked Vassago's take charge personality. ;)

Ahhh! I loved this book! It was a cute, fast read. It made me smile, laugh, scream, and wanting to throw my kindle across the room. I really loved the characters and their development. The romance was adorable! I also enjoyed the side characters. I’ll admit and say I read the second book first but this made me want to read book 1. My only real gripe with this book was I felt the FMC took revelations too calmly? I wish there was a bit more shock and surprise when she learned something important but other than that, the book was great! I can’t wait to read more of this series!

How do you go from no one to somebody? Very cautiously. Great had been raised as if she held no value by her patrons. Only good to be a servant, and a poor one at that according to them. Until one day Vassago finds her, by accident. This story of their finding eachother, while finding themselves is very endearing. They are explosive together and would do anything for the other. I love how Vassago shows Greta her TRUE value! I am anxious to see how the Demon Princes characters continue to unfold.

This story follows just after Rylan and Callas story in The Demon's Deal. I loved charming Vassago and the care and attention he provided Greta with, which was something she was not used to and felt that she didn't deserve. There were definitely some Cinderella vibes! There were many twists and turns that I didn't expect in the development of Greta. I can't wait to read Seir's story next and hopefully will get a Magnus story as well!

I received this as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This story follows Vassago and Greta and how they uncover the truth of who she is. This story is fraught with danger, but also has such poignant moments. I loved their relationship, how it developed and their interactions.
Both characters had significant growth throughout the story and I felt that I wanted them to succeed and reach their HEAs.
The story was also excellent and it kept me absorbed throughout the highs and lows. The bad guys were suitable evil and the good guys were dark and sensual.
This is an all encompassing story and thoroughly enjoyable.
