Jon approached Lacey with one goal in finding out if her mother had once been involved with his business partner, and if she had, what happened between them. But Lacey is beautiful, sweet, and has an innocence he hasn't seen in a woman in a long time. It's an innocence he usually avoids, but in her, it draws him. He thinks he can manage a relationship with Lacey and still accomplish his goal at the same time, but can he? As the truth starts to break through the walls of lies, Lacey and Jon only grow closer. But what happens when Lacey finds out Jon's secret? Will she be able to forgive him and move on, or will she believe he manipulated her for his own purposes and cut him out of her life forever? More importantly, when faced with a choice her mother once had, will she learn from her mother's mistakes or is she doomed to repeat them?

About the author

Since she was a little girl, Wendy Miller's imagination has run away with her. Putting the stories her imagination dreamed up on paper was the only way to get them out of her head. Being able to publish her stories and share them with others has always been her dream.

As a single mother raising two sons and working full time, she had to put that dream on the back burner for several years. Then she was laid off from a job she enjoyed and, like many others at that time, had no luck finding a new job. With "free" time on her hands, she began writing again and decided to look into the self publishing route. "Tangled Deceit" was her first completed novel ready for publication.

She is often working on more than one book at a time, because her creativity has ADD and cannot focus on just one thing at a time. She writes romance and romantic suspense novels. Her second novel, "The Secrets He Kept", will be published in December 2012, and she is already hard at work on her next book.

Wendy lives in Central Florida with her two sons. Along with her writing, she also homeschools her sons. When she's not busy teaching or writing, she enjoys reading, watching television and movies, listening to music, swimming and photography. She loves watching crime shows such as CSI and Criminal Minds, as well as shows like Sons of Anarchy and Survivor. When it comes to reading - anything goes!

Well written blurb which suggests more than it actually delivers.

At twenty seven Lacey came across as a petulant silly little girl, it was difficult to feel anything but frustration for her stubborn too blind character. Love ‘em and leave ‘em Jon walked into her life determined to find out the truth for his friend. Unfortunately a promise he regrettably made kept him silent and would eventually see him at odds with a very unforgiving Lacey who then tit for tat kept her own secret from him. You guess where this is going right?

It’s every authors responsibility to drive home to their audience the importance of safe sex. It’s not just about getting pregnant ya know and I'm less impressed with those too stupid to believe moments.

The writing was okay but I didn't really feel any deep emotional connection between the main characters, there was too much else going on with a back story that drove the plot almost to the exclusion of the romance. This is where I feel it suffered the most.

I added it to my read shelf but couldn't finish it cause lacey annoyed when she kept saying you lied to me...He didn't lie he just didn't tell her at all
