Division P

Rate this book
Most of the time life bumps along pretty predictably, viruses and vacations, Christmas and work issues, career and relationship choices. This is certainly true for part time Division P operatives Mason Flynn and Cameron Bradshaw. Mason is a doctor and a healer. Cam is a Navy pilot and a finder. Between building a life together and the stresses of managing both their part time and full time careers, life is pretty full for both guys. But sometimes, life throws a world-altering curve ball. Laws change. The past reaches out into the present and drops a miraculous bomb. Psychic stresses develop. People's realities alter in unpredictable ways. But Mason and Cam have each other even as their life grows in some very, very unexpected ways. Mason and Cam first appeared in Hell Dogs Squadron and Seeking the Balance.

This book brings Mason and Cam's story to an end. (Unless A.R. Moler gives us another chapter!) Here are my reviews to the first two major chapters, Hell Dogs Squadron and Seeking Balance (actually reviewed together). Zero to 165 gives us a look into how the two men have settled into their lives as a couple and how their relationship continues to grow and evolve every day. (There is some angst and hurt/comfort thrown in there, of course, but nothing like the first two installments.) We are given a fabulous HEA and watch our two heroes walk off into the sunset as a family unit, with a storyline left open for more adventures, but enough closure to keep you happy and imagine our boys living a long and happy life together. *clapping* It's the stuff of fairy tales!

I highly recommend this entire series about Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Mason Flynn and Navy Fighter Pilot Lt. Cameron Bradshaw, who both possess psychic Talents: Hell Dogs Squadron, Seeking the Balance and Zero to 165. They are a hurt/healing/comfort lover's dream series.

This is the third book about Cam and Mason, as they settle into an established relationship. I liked the personal side of this book a lot. The paranormal issue they faced kind of fell by the wayside, which was a pity because it seemed like a problem in need of a solution - that can't be the state of life for all partnered psis. But perhaps the author will give us another book to address that. In other ways this was a sweeter wrap up, giving our heroes a bit of adventure, and more personal time. It is quieter, less exciting and less hurt-comfort than the first two, but then these guys need a break. A nice end to the series for now, with enough issues left in play for a follow-up, if the author were so inclined.

Not having read the previous books I found that I wasn't lost with the story line. Really enjoyed reading about their lives together and apart. The caring between both men was well written and how each one just kinda rolled with the flow. How even the career changes might be in the cards so they could be together and become closer. I will have to go and read the other books to see how they got to this point in their lives.

I wish I enjoyed this story more, than I did :/

The first half was good, but then when Cam and Mason are away on holidays Cam ogles some girl in the restaurant, while Mason goes to the bathroom:

She was hot, he had to admit, but an admiring look and a little conversation was all she was ever going to get from him.

Mason sure isn't happy about it:

It wasn't that Cam was talking to a woman that bothered Mason, it was the appreciative track of Cam's gaze over the ample set of breasts being shown off. Mason knew damn well Cam was bisexual and had been involved with a number of women during his life. Still... it stung a little to see the attraction.

And later on Cam explains himself to Mason:

"I love you, Mason. I love everything about you. I can't turn off the bisexual part of my brain that likes to look at women, but I have complete control over ever doing anything about it."

And then it's Mason who apologizes and all is well again.

To be honest that moment really pissed me off! I believe being bisexual means you can be attracted to people of both genders, but when you're in a relationship with someone you don't overtly 'appreciate' other good looking people, because it's disrespectful to your partner, the one you almost proposed to, for God's sake! I'd be pretty pissed, if I were Mason. Cam's wandering eye annoyed me all the more, because Mason never once in all that time didn't look at anyone, other than Cam, that way.

Later on I liked their co-dependace and I'd like to know more about it, but we're given Cam's surprise baby instead and I'm just not interested in kids all that much, so I kind of skimmed the last pages about it, these details are not my thing at all.

I know from the author's blog that another sequel is in the works, and I'll be sure to check it out, if it'll be more focused on Cam and Mason's bond, but if it'll be more about them as a parents and about the baby - I'll pass.

I was really happy to find out that there was more of Mason and Cam´s story. It was great to see their relationship grow and to explore more about the different abilities. This book elaborated more on the psi and how their bodies and minds work. I would have wanted to know a little more about the bond between Mason and Cam too, to find out more about why they react so badly when they are apart. If I where them I would have liked to be able to fix it. I miss my partner when we are apart, but I can´t really say I wouldn´t want to be able to leave their side :)

I liked that Cam finds out that he is a father and I hope very much that there will be more books after this so we can follow the new little family and their adventures.

I adore the characters, the plot was fine too, but the end was kinda WTF? Where's the rest? It felt like some story was missing
