Did She Love Me is the latest release in the Indian chick lit market. The story is essentially a love story to the core but addresses the issue of making a choice between yourself and the one you love. As the avid readers of light fiction will know it there are too many books in the market. Thus finding the right one which is sure to make a difference is quite a task.
Did She Love Me tell us the story of Jayrish. He is your average lad who is all of eighteen years of age and comes from a well to do family. However his own dream drives him apart from his rich father and his legacy and leads him to rebel against the privileged lifestyle he was brought up in. He leaves home for Delhi where he enrols in a tuition class to prepare for his dream- a seat at IIT, Delhi. And while he is trying to make sense of his new life and adjust to his surroundings, he makes new friends. Life seems to be good.
Herein enters Shweta, the gorgeous classmate from his tutorials and he is immediately smitten. But as fate would have it, she is already dating someone else and Jayrish is nothing but a friend. But as the story progresses little gestures on the part of Jayrish starts making a difference in Shweta’s heart and she starts falling in love with him. But what remain unsaid on both their parts are their doubts over their love being real or not.
Love is never easy and that is what the author Jwotirmoy Mazumdar tries to portray in his book. The character of Jayrish is a classic example of a young guy in love who is confused and scared and often makes the wrong decisions. It is also an insight into the fast paced Delhi life where nothing ever stops and once you fall back it is difficult to get back on track. It is in this backdrop that their love story evolves.
The story is fast paced and doesn’t keep the reader waiting. The romantic scenes are well written and the author has been successful in expressing the emotions of the characters. The story is however quite predictable and goes through the usual ups and downs that every love story portrays, hence the book doesn’t rank quite high on the originality front. But for someone who is into the boy meets girl formula this is an interesting read. It is a good book for those readers who are partial to the chick lit genre.
This is author Jwotirmoy Mazumdar’s first release and is being published by Diamond Publications.

Story that results in hatred and tears…
The novel ‘Did she love me?’ by Jyotirmoy Mazumdar is all about essence of teenage love. The struggle between chasing dreams and also running after the true love has been expressed in a very impressive manner in the book. Most of the teenagers can relate with the book because in one or the other way they also must have faced what protagonist did,the story is really touchy and can bring tears in your eyes and at the same time it can create hatred in you for the girl he loves. The book is simply awesome and worth reading.
The story revolves around a boy named Jayrish who comes to Delhi after fighting with his family for the sake of his dreams but meets Shweta and falls in love with her. His ambition was to get selected in IIT and so he joins the coaching for 1 year. He finds two good friends but will they always stay with him is something you will get to know after reading the book yourself. The book is all about love story of Jayrish but his love story is not like every other love story and has a lot of twists and turns, epitomizes cruelty manipulations. Will his journey turn out to be fruitful in sense of his dreams and love or will it lead to a total loss. Read the book and find out yourself.
I am quite satisfied with the book and you must read it unless you are allergic to love stories because if it is so, then this is not your cup of tea.

Way to go Mr. Jyotirmoy Muzumdar. First of all, the language used was not up-to the mark. It was kind of immature. Another thing, the story wasn't much structured and organized. The story was lame. I mean how can a person can be so stupid! I mean after I completed the book, seriously my mind was so raged that if I find that girl, Shweta, I would have definitely murdered her.
However, considering the fact that this was your first publication, I must say it was a good start for you as an author.
