For the first time, Anna Avery was looking forward to the future. She’s mated to her soul mate. The pack has become her new family, and she has friends she can confide in. She had every reason to look ahead, until a vision put her future happiness in jeopardy.
Someone is set on destroying her mate, Adam, and only Anna can prevent this possible future. While trying to unravel the hazy web of her premonition, she finds out the annual pack conference will take place on her mountain. And Adam’s parents will be attending. As only a “made” wolf, Anna will have to face their prejudice and possibly make the hardest decision she has ever had to make. Because saving Adam’s life might just mean walking away from him for forever.
Stephanie Nelson resides in Illinois with her husband and their furry children. She began writing five years ago as a hobby and quickly fell in love with storytelling. She’s been teased about being a vampire due to her night-owl ways. However, she claims to only write about the fanged and not be part of their ranks. When she’s not working on the next Gwen Sparks or Anna Avery adventure, she enjoys: reading, traveling, playing the Wii and spending time with her family. The best part of her job is connecting with her readers.
Um... What just happened? So I loved book one of this series. Loved Anna, loved Adam. This book started out good, then it went to ok but a bit slow and then about a third of the way through it went crazy. Like a guy doing shrooms crazy. All of a sudden out of no where Anna is a completely different character, Adams not sure if he can deal with her and then the love triangle with Anthony, WTH! This book totally went Days of or Lives on me. All it need are unnecessary facial close ups and dramatic pauses and we'd have a soap opera. I hate soap operas. I'm totally disappointed. I will say the "bad guy" totally caught me off guard so kudos to the author on that. I also loved the cover and really enjoyed Wades character. Frankly I think Anna should ditch both Adam and Anthony and go with Sawyer or Wade.
REVIEW: After reading the first book in the Anna Avery series in one sitting, I had to start book two Embracing the Wolf. I loved the first one so much with all the tension in the pack, Anna being a rarity and oh how much I love the alpha Adam. This one took a very shocking turn and I’m still trying to take it all in.
Embracing the Wolf follows Anna the once newbie in her pack and now is mated to the Alpha. She and the Alpha Adam share a unique bond and Anna must learn about her new place by his side. But when Anna’s visions take a turn for the worse, she worries about what she saw and if she can stop it. As wells as being the only “made” wolf she comes face to face with an old legend about her white wolf.
Anna is such a great character and has grown up a lot through the two books. I love her friendship with some of the pack members Elle and Sawyer, but even with them having her back she had some major challenges. This time around Anna had to defend her new place by Adams side against other female wolves visiting. As well as the very rude and uptight parents of Adam, who made it very difficult for her through most of the book. But nonetheless Anna’s heart was all for Adam (her Chante), even with his bother lurking around after he tried to kill her. I also enjoyed the story of the white wolf; Anna being a white wolf caused a lot of rumors among the wolves. My only issue was Anna change in personality was a little harsh, something happens that changed Anna and I’m still trying to see if I like it. She may be able to hold her own but I wanted her personality to stay the same, it will take some getting use too. What I did really enjoy is Anna embracing her visions more and working with Wade on how she can center in on her ability.
Adam is the same smoking hot and powerful alpha who devoutly loves Anna. He has a lot to deal with too next to Anna. He’s still very overprotective, but dealing with the hatred he has for his brother and how horrible his parents are being to Anna makes for not a great family reunion. I also felt for him when Anna’s personality did a shift, I’m hoping for the best for these two because I love them together. Nelson does a fantastic job with their chemistry and those intimate moments that really show their connection.
Overall I love how much more suspense there was this time around, along with my favorite part, digging more into pack life and wolf legends. The romance is fantastic, but I have to say the villain was a major shock and I applaud Nelson for this fantastic twist! One bit I’ve never been in fan of in all books in a love triangle and the way this one is set up I’m not really liking it, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it fades away. In the end I’m super excited to see what adventure lie ahead for Anna, Elle and Sawyer as they travel. Anna has a lot to learn still and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
RECOMMENDATION: This is an adult novel with sexual content that is for mature readers. If you’re a fan of Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series or Larissa Iones’ Demonica series, you will love Taming the Wolf by Stephanie Nelson
Yet ANOTHER amazing book by Stephanie Nelson. This woman is my idol. I love her books and this one is no exception. I spent the last few days reading it every spare moment my son would let me. I just had to know what was going to happen next. The first book in the Anna Avery series, Taming the Wolf, was the story of how Anna was turned into a werewolf and fell in love with her Alpha, Adam. She did everything she could not to sleep with Adam, but when she felt like her death was certain, she gave in to her desires only to discover that she and Adam were Chantes, or soul mates. Adam's current mate, Eve, kidnapped Anna and tried to finish the job she had started when she turned her, but in the end Eve was the one to pay the price.
Now, Anna has to learn how to be an Alpha female of the Everwood pack which she has only been a member of for a few months. She is doing what was considered impossible by first snagging herself an Alpha and second by becoming an Alpha with her impure blood. Up to this point, made wolves were only for mistresses. An Alpha would never become the mate of one, nor produce offspring with one. Her sudden change of status has some reeling from anger and otherwise singing her praises. Its caused such a stir that someone is out to kill her, or perhaps Adam, in an effort to keep Anna from leading a pack. She has to learn how to be an Alpha while keeping other women from trying to steal her man and keeping those she loves from getting killed. Will she learn to embrace the wolf inside of her? Will she accept the Chante brand on her hand as fate or fight against commitment? Will she find out who is behind the attacks or fall victim to their vigilance?
It's a great story with several twists and turns. It will leave you guessing constantly and thoroughly surprised in the end. There's enough conflict to bring about a lot of character development. I just wish that I didn't have to wait for the next book to come out.
WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than the first of the series. I absolutely love how Stephanie has now made me question my feelings to the evil twin. I CAN NOT wait for the next addition.
Embracing the Wolf is the second book in the Anna Avery series. The first book is called Taming the Wolf. I loved the first novel and could not wait to bite into the second one soon after!! Embracing the Wolf continues the story right where Taming the Wolf left off, which is awesome because some series do not make a seamless transition to the next novel like this.
It all starts off with Adam and Anna having to prepare for events that they have to host. With all of the clans being in one spot things start to take a turn to some mystery. IS there someone out there to get Anna and Adam? Adam is the Alpha and with Anna being rare, her being by his side really makes Adam’s parents displeased. Anna will be the only “made” wolf and she must comes to terms with this.
I absolutely loved and cherished the character of Anna. When characters grow throughout novels, it’s like you are right there with them. The friendship bonds that she makes with Elle and Sawyer make you feel like she is going to be more comfortable in her new life. Anna has to fight her hardest against other females and Adam’s parents for her place next to Adam, but nothing was going to stand in her way. Anna’s personality changes a little bit in the second book with all the attention being by Adam’s side, being a white wolf, her visions, etc. It is a lot to bear for one person.
I absolutely love the relationship between Adam and Anna and how his love for her is portrayed by Nelson. With his whole family against them, including his brother, their bond is still just as strong. I wish more bonds were like this in the world that we live in. People staying true to their feelings and one another is a beautiful thing to read about, and it made me love them together more and more than I already did.
I would have to give this one FIVE STARS for the suspense, romance, and now thriller that comes with the second book! I had never read anything by Nelson before but now I am a HUGE fan. I can not wait to see what lies ahead for Anna and Adam!!!
Disclosure: I was given this book for my honest and thoughtful opinion and review.
n Embracing the Wolf, the second book in the Anna Avery series, Anna is dealing with new love and the new role that love brings her. See, Anna couldn’t just pick any old wolf to fall in love with! No, she had to go and fall for the Alpha Male. That makes her the Alpha Female. Considering that Anna was changed just a short time ago and still hasn’t mastered her own wolf powers, that’s not exactly something that makes her life easier. Thankfully, she has an amazing pack willing to help her out.
On top of becoming Alpha Female, Anna is trying to come to terms with the fact that she may be a Seer, a wolf able to see the past. Her friend and pack-mate, Wade, is trying to help her learn how to control this new power. As if that isn’t enough for even the average werewolf to endure, Anna has to meet the future in-laws! They’re not exactly ready to accept her with open arms. Anna isn’t a pure-blood werewolf, which means she isn’t worthy in Adam’s parent’s eyes.
Now someone is bent on killing Anna to keep her from her new position. Basically, poor Anna is just not having a good year! She should be reveling in her newly discovered love, but instead she has to fight for her life and that of her soul-mate’s!
Stephanie Nelson once again makes werewolves incredibly interesting through her rich characters, approachable style and exciting plot line. I loved this book as much as I enjoyed the first one. Perhaps more, since I’m more invested in Anna’s story after reading Taming the Wolf. It’s a fun read, perfect for those long summer days on the beach!
I had forgotten how much I loved the world of this series. Within a few pages I was sucked back to Anna's world and stayed firmly in place until I had read the entire book. Anna is just as flawed, strong, insecure, snarky, and fun as she was in book one and Adam is just as Alpha, although we did get to see glimpses of his inner weaknesses that he does not let others see. I loved how this book was not a "let's see who gets mated next" sequel, but a continuation of Adam and Anna's story as she takes on her role as Alpha female. This book has mystery, suspense, romance, a prophecy, a vamp I think I want to know more about, and a real jerk of a mother in law. Basically, it was a super fun read and I am already excited about the next book and plan to stalk the author's FB page for signs of a release date. If you have not read Taming the Wolf, it might be a better place to start so you know the background of the series. That being said, you could easily start here and feel like you were not missing huge gaps of content, but probably would not feel the emotional components as strongly.
Embracing the Wolf is the second book in the Anna Avery series. first was Taming the wolf. It is a good one, only little minus point is that Anna was in this one a bit to whiny sometimes in it.
With that been said, it picks right up where book one left off, we read about Anna and Adam who have the big yearly event of the wolfs to host. Which means Adam's parents are there too and many other clans, it appears that someone is clearly after Anna and Adam too? His parents who are royalty in the wolf world are not to happy with Anna who is a made wolf.
Tension goes up high when the have to find out who is after them, Adam's mother makes Anna believe to go away, that it is the only chance to keep Adam safe. Will she give in and leave Adam's side? The end is surprising for most I think, I did figure it out at a point. It is a good flowing story and has also vampires in it. Go get it, you won't regret it.
I received a copy of this book for a honest review.
I received this book for a fair and honest review. This is the second book in the series.
This book picked up right where book 1 left off. Anna and Adam are not bonded. However not everyone is happy about that. Adam's parents do not approve, at all.
Someone is after Anna and Adam. The person it turns out to be was shocking to me. I totally didn't see that coming.
I feel Anthony is now obsessed with Anna. He insists that there is something between them. I wonder if its just because he's Adam's twin or if there is more to it.
I enjoyed reading about how Anna has fully accepted the wolf within her. As the title say...she embraced it. I think Anna will live up to her white wolf and shock them all.
I hope Anna finds the answers she's looking for. I am eager for book 3 to find out what is really going on.
Wow...another great book from Stephanie! I am really looking forward to the next book in this series! I love Anna and Adam together and I hope they stay together!
Adam : Still so effing hot. I love the overprotective wolf. But I also love that he loves and cherishes Anna so far beyond what custom or tradition dictates. We learn so much about why Adam was with Eve, and why it is so hard for him to take Anna as his mate. But he does so, and people having different opinions because of who Anna is.
Adam’s Parents : They were absolutely ridiculous, rude and mean, and worthless, but I think that they were really well done. They were the absolute snobs you would think royal blood would be. And for that they get to be in the Good section of this book. I think that them defending Anthony, and just blatantly constantly disrespecting Anna was so necessary for the story development.
Anthony : Ok, I know we all hated him in the first book. But there was an air of mystery that continues to shroud Anthony. I think its so interesting the way in which his story has been unfolding. Anthony has so many shades to him, and I haven’t been able to peg him as good or bad or inbetween.
Anna’s Gift : I think it was so cool that Anna can see the future and/or passed. And I think it added to the story so much. We got to see how she used her powers, and we can start to see the way she should use her powers in the future.
The Vamps : I like that there was the addition of a new element of the supernatural added. Though they weren’t in the story for long, I think there is so much potential for the story development with the vamps.
The Bad
The lack of a tournament in the conference : I know there was a bunch of stuff going on in this book, but to be perfectly honest, I wish that I would’ve been able to at least see some of the games in the tournament there was so much talk about it, but we never got to discuss even one thing about conference. Sad, but true.
Chloe and Caddie : Sucked balls, and I didn’t even get to see them get their asses kicked? I was kinda pissed at that. Chloe was such a bitch! And so blatantly rude and condescending towards Anna, I wanted to slap her for the entire book.
Adam’s Parents : Yes they are mentioned in both good and bad. Because they were terrible, and at times just plain blind. Though I hope we get to see more of them in the future as Anna’s role in the werewolf world continues to evolve, I want to see their reactions and faces to her new found position in their the world.
The Ugly
The bitch Anna becomes at the end : WTF Ms. Nelson? What did you do to my awesome Anna? She became and utter stupid condescending, self-righteous bitch by the end of the book. I hated her, and the way she treats Adam, I hope that will change in the next book because it pissed me the hell off.
I read book 1 in this series, Taming the Wolf back in November of last year. I loved it and couldn’t wait for the next book. Well, I then forgot that the 2nd book in this series came out in April. I was going thru my Goodreads’ bookshelves and noticed this. I was so excited that the book was out and I could read it. I immediately went to Amazon and purchased the book.
Anna’s strength is one of my favorite parts of this series. I could feel the struggles she went through internally. With all of the changes in her world and life, I can’t imagine how she took everything as well as she did. Her mate’s mother is constantly trying to get her to leave. She’s about to be challenged and all of a sudden there are vampires trying to grab and kill her. She faces all this with the strength of a heroine that I love to read about.
The world that Ms. Nelson built is very extensive and full of fun characters. I can’t wait to read more about Adam’s twin, Anthony and see how that plays out as well. Stephanie says that the 3rd book in the series should be out by fall/winter 2013. I can’t wait.
This book is for the paranormal lover who loves twists and turns. There are a few surprises in the book that I did not expect at all. I noticed that Ms. Nelson also writes another series, The Gwen Sparks series and I will definitely be trying that one out as well. I love her style of writing.
Stephanie Nelson has done it again with Embracing the Wolf - Book #2 (Anna Avery). It doesn't look like finally settling down is in the card for young wolf Anna Avery. After beginning to see visions of her mates death anna realizes she has to try and do something to save him. Bounties by vampires, Anna finally toughening up and coming into some power, love and love lost this book has it ! I'm a big Anna Adam fan so I'm still hoping for a happily ever after at some point. If you love paranormal or werewolves I strongly recommend this. I very much enjoyed it. Thanks Stephanie Nelson.
I received a complimentary copy of Embracing the Wolf - Book #2 (Anna Avery)for reviewing purposes. Thanks
Stephanie Nelson pens "Embracing the Wolf" the second book in the 'Anna Avery Series' in a plot that is filled with supernatural creatures, plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing, and some steamy romance. Between her well developed, strong characters and the fantastic plot, I couldn't put the book down. I honestly can't wait for the next book in the series and I do suggest reading the books in order so your not losing any information. Highly recommended for all romance and supernatural fans.
This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.
Loved Loved Loved this book, already desperate for the third in the series....Although, I have to say do not like where the plot is going with this one...It's Adam all the way for me, Anthony really !!!!
Come on Stephanie I'm still waiting for the Gwen SParks book, if I can't have anymore Adam I'll have to settle for Dorian..
I really enjoyed this book it had everything the first book did with some unexpected twists. The reason I gave it a 4 star rating was for the ending of the book. It was a great ending but I would have preferred it to end a little differently. That is just my personal opinion. I really can't wait to read the next book ans see where Stephanie Nelson goes from here.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this book but I'll give it a solid 3.5
It started out as one thing but completely shifted part way through, seriously were talking personalities, love interests and story direction it was crazy.
I loved it! I love Anna and Adam. I love how they ended up together in Taming the Wolf. In this book many obstacle are thrown their way, but I know that as chantes they will press on and conquer all. I can't wait for more of the Anna Avery series!
There was a lot of twist and turns, most, surprisingly, I didn't suspect. Either way, I'm kind of addicted now and need to read the third installment when it become available.
I had a lot of fun reading this book, and wish the next book would come out soon!
What I liked about this book: -The chemistry between Anna and Adam was hot. -Anthony's character arc was surprising in a good way. I'm generally up for any kind of romantic rivalry, and this one was new and surprising. Can't wait to see what happens there. -Sawyer's still around and I like him.
What I wasn't crazy about: -Anna's personality change toward the end was strange--I couldn't tell how we as the reader were supposed to feel about it or her power, so that was confusing and unsettling. -Anna is still a total dingbat at times. When she has two competing options, she is incapable of weighing them properly. Here is my paraphrased example: "He might have information I need, or he might be trying to murder me. I think I will go with him, because the information is more important than my life and whatever promises I made to the love of my life." -The last quarter of the book felt a bit rushed and awkward. The decision to go to New Mexico was so sudden. There wasn't a satisfactory resolution with Adam, his parents, or Chloe. I thought Anna would get to "interrogate" more wolves before the bad person was revealed. -The kiss test thing at the end was so ridiculous. I'm not saying I wish the kiss hadn't happened, I just wish it had a more believable justification for why it happened.
Continuing from Taming the Wolf, Anna’s learning to use her seer powers and fighting skills as she gains more wolf skills. Generally, the pack accepts Anna as their alpha female but some aren’t happy about their coupling. Adam’s parents definitely won’t accept a mutt. Neither do some of the guests attending the annual summit.
Adding to the stress, Adam’s brother, Anthony, who betrayed Adam and helped kidnap Anna is walking their pack lands freely. Anna has to get close to help determine Anthony’s degree of punishment and finds he might not be quite the blackheart they thought. But most stressful of all Anna begins to get visions of Adam’s life in danger!
In many ways this outing is equal or better than its predecessor, such as the mystery but somewhere along the line Anna seemed to have a personality transplant. The secondary characters are back, just as entertaining as they were previously making this outing a pleasure to read. Rating: 4stars
Like in the first book the story was good. What I didn´t like was the end and the reaction from Adam. I can understand that he is shocked by the developement but his reaction was a harsh blow.
I loved this book just as much as the first one. It was totally worth the wait.
Adam is still all-encompassing, seriously he’s amazing. He’s so strong, confidant, passionate and completely devoted to Anna.
”You sound pretty sure of yourself,” I teased. ”There are three things I never question; the strength of my wolf, my skills in the bedroom, and the unyielding love I feel for you.”
Things never seem to be plain-sailing for Anna and Adam, and things only look to get even more complicated. Especially with Anthony (Yes, Adam’s twin brother) breathing down Anna’s neck all the time now…
”I will kiss every inch of you until you give into me, Anna. If you want to prove me wrong, you have to kiss me back.”
That plan totally backfired… and the worst part? Anthony actually seems to be a good guy, and genuinely has feeling for her. Poor Anna is so confused. She loves Adam more than she ever imagined possible, and doesn’t want to leave him, she won’t even consider it! So why is this happening to her? And now Anthony’s had a taste, he isn’t going to let this go.
I loved the storyline about the I always love trying to guess who the bad guy is. LOL
I have to admit though, the new storyline about the ‘White Wolf? I’m not really felling it yet. I don’t know; it just feels a bit crazy at the moment. But this book ends with Anna going off to discover more about herself and her new situation. So I hope that things are explained a bit better in the next book.
I love Elle; she’s such a great friend. She was always so supportive of Anna, but she also told her the truth when she needed a kick up the arse. That’s always the sign of a good friend! They are so funny together too…
’Elle laughed. ”Exactly. Convey with your eyes that you’ll cut a bitch if she even sniffs in your mate’s direction. Make them second-guess everything they thought they knew about you, my lean, mean, alpha-bitch Queen.” I burst out laughing. ”What would I do without you, seriously?” “Oh, you would be a mess. A complete and utter mess.” She bumped my shoulder playfully.
Adam and Anthony’s parents are insane, well his mother is! Seriously, is she really that blind? She is going to flip her shit when she realises that not only Adam in in love with the ‘mutt’, but now Anthony is too. I really hope one of them tells her to fuck off in the next book!
Poor Sawyer, he really did get screwed over by Adam. He really liked Anna and to have had her, even so briefly, and lost her has really hurt him. He’s a wonderful guy, I hope we get to see him find a mate soon.
I actually felt really sorry for Chelsea, not that her actions are justifiable in any way. I just felt sad for her, and the fact that she couldn’t cope with her new life. She was consumed by the life she had no choice but to leave behind and needed someone to blame. Someone to take responsibility for everything she felt has gone wrong in her life, even if she was blaming the wrong person.
An awesome book, I cannot wait to read the third :D
Seriously. I feel so great about life after reading this I can't even. 'CAUSE ANTHONY AND ANNA BECAME A THING. Okay, they're not really a thing yet, BUT it became a possibility and that's all that matters. He started the series off as this huge villain and infuriating jerk-face and now he's an actual love interest, can you scream HALLELUJAH?!
When he "tricks" Anna into kissing him so she can prove to herself him that she loves Adam: that's some awesome logic right there and I absolutely love them for it. Anthony for being such a smartass, and Anna for knowing she's being conned and deciding to kiss him anyways. They're one of my dream pairings and I will fight everyone on this.
Anna becomes such a better person when she's with him. She's always being sooooo insecure, but when he's around she seems to be completely capable of handling herself and standing her ground. He encourages her and tells her he believes in her when everybody else seems oblivious to how terrified she is. Even her Chante who is supposed to be able to tell how she's feeling. AND AND AND the best part is: he tells her off. He actually tells her to get off her high horse. I just wanted to hug him and kiss him and jump him and steal him for myself when he spoke back to Anna. 'Cause no one else seems to do it. Or they(cough Adam) do it by making her feel bad about her attitude or about herself. Is my distaste for Adam showing too much? Sorrynotsorry.
As for the whole chante thing and the fact that she feels bonded to Anthony even though Adam's her chante:—says in singsongy voice— I have a theory. Well, two actually. One of them is that Anna chose Adam as her mate, but her wolf chose Anthony and that's why she feels bonded to him too. And the other is that Anthony was destined to be the white wolf's mate. Meaning, their love would be part of some type of prophecy as well.
If I'm being honest, at this point, I would accept anything that doesn't result in Anna having feelings for Anthony just because he's Adam's twin. That would be such a low-blow. Her feelings for him need to be real and they need to be because of him, not because he looks like Adam and has a connection with Adam.
I know there was way more to this book than Anthony, but I can't seem to remember any of it. That's how great a character he is. He made me forget anything that wasn't related to him. And
I had mixed feelings about the Sawyer-Anna-Adam relationship thingy in the first book. I must say I despise love triangles and usually they make instant 1 or 2 star ratings. However in the first book one might argue that she didnt actually do anything(much) with Adam before Sawyer dumped her and overall it was an interesting book (albeit a bit predictable, since I thought the real killer was Eve after like the introduction of her chracter). Now in this book we have this very clichee two brothers and a girl type of triangle. Throughout most of the book Anna was resisting it but then the author just had to ruin it in the end of the book. If that was not bad enough, then as some people have already pointed out, wtf happened to Annas character? Most of the book she was this whiny insecure chick( that was totally gorgeous and badass, so everyone were jelous of her*cough*) and then we have the cave scene and suddenly shes trolling around like she owns the place. Besides, why is it that only she has those magical powers when everyone else lacks them alltogether? Healing, visions, super alphaness and all that bs vs Nicholases measly power to persuade people- noone else had any powers there save some Seers that were mentioned but never introduced as characters. I also think that books tend to get boring when the main character has overpowering abilities. Also why was Adam such a wuss in this book? Througout most of the book Anthony was the "saviour" while Adam whined. I must say I quite liked him in the first book- this book? Not so much. All in all I have to say that while I liked the first book in the series, this Anthony-Anna-Adam thingy just isnt for me I guess.
This is the 2nd book in the Anna Avery series and whilst enjoyable, I felt there was too much recapping of book one.
Anna and Adam are now bonded and although Eve is out of the picture, Anna has to suffer the presence of Anthony who seems to be her No.1 fan after Adam. Problems for Anna arise when someone tries to kill her and Adam's parents make it clear that they don't believe she is good enough for Adam on account of her being a 'made' wolf rather than a 'born' one. She also learns that Adam comes from such an old lineage that the Everwoods' are almost regarded as being the equivalent of royalty.
After Adam is injured protecting Anna at their bonding ceremony, Anna learns that vampires really do exist and that there is a price on her head. She also discovers that the vampires hired to kill her have been hired by a werewolf. Anna learns more about the legend of the White Wolf and that she has a competitor for her position as Alpha in the form of Chloe.
Overall, an enjoyable read but I hope there isn't so much recapping in the 3rd book.
I did like this book, but certainly not as much as the first novel. The main character starts questioning her every move, and considering here strength in the previous book, I considered this was a bit of a let down.
For me, her character just went down hill, and I fear it is heading into Never Never Land to the Republic of Soapy Drama. I have serious problems when dealing with a drama queen novel. It seems to lose the element of freshness, the pace is let down, and the entire thrust of the story heads swiftly into a downhill spiral. Exponential disaster.
I thought of giving the book a 3.5, but now I review it from last night, I realise it hasn't left a good impression on me and I'm on the warpath for a 3.1.
I'll probably give the next book a bit of a go/skim, but it might be taking a leap with that exponential velocity I mentioned, straight for a brick wall. Disappointment flagellates me.
