An Unexpected Husband

Rate this book
Skye Martin was hoping for nothing more than some no-strings excitement on her island vacation. What she did not expect was to return home and find out a few months later that her harmless fling had left her pregnant with the child of a man she hardly knew. What she expected even less was for that man to suddenly, by coincidence, be thrust back into her life.Shaun Collins had lost hope that he would ever again see or hear from the beautiful, sweet girl he’d met on his trip, and the fact that he was about to be a father had never entered his mind. Upon suddenly finding himself close to Skye again and learning that she is carrying his child, he knows what needs to happen. His baby needs a father, and Skye needs a husband. Skye shows no interest in that arrangement, however. Unfortunately for Skye, Shaun doesn’t plan to take no for an answer, even if that means his hand will need to be applied frequently and firmly to her beautiful, bare This story contains graphic sexual scenes and spankings, including domestic discipline in a contemporary setting. I couldn't even be happy about this book, it was plain crazy and as far as I'm concerned both hero and heroine had no chemistry. The hero was pushy and downright annoying and the heroine was a whiny bitch who I wanted to pummel. I had to eventually stop reading, I tried really hard to push forward but the book had nothing there to offer me and was beginning to give me a headache.

An Unexpected Husband by Constance Masters was a fun, sexy read with great main characters (and great secondary characters too!)that left me satisfied. Skye and Shaun had wonderful chemistry and I loved the way Shaun took charge once he realized the baby was his, even before he knew the real Skye. The sex and spanking scenes were steamy and kept me reading until the wee hours of the night. I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future!

I stopped reading this book at 83%. Why, you ask? Let me tell you! (Jennifer, step away from the book. Do not read it!) First off, I've never read a story where I want to punch the main character in the throat so much! Secondly, there is an overabundance of punctuation, such, as, commas, everywhere. And periods. Every five. Seconds. Where, they dont. need to be,.,.,.! I swear there was a sentence that had a comma every other word! Moving on...Skye is hands down the MOST ANNOYING AND IMMATURE CHARACTER EVER! She winds up getting knocked up on a weekend fling, has the baby daddy's phone number, but refuses to call him. She doesn't get any type of prenatal care, whatsoever! Then, "shockingly" baby daddy turns up at the school she teaches at and BOOM! He's in love, he's going to marry her, and she needs spanked. Now...I'm all for a good spanking in the bedroom, but the way Shaun does it to her to be punished like he's her daddy? No. Effing. Way. Personal preference, maybe, but it just was not introduced in the right way to the story. Skye continues acting like a child, stomping her feet, throwing tantrums, etc., Shaun drags her off immediately for a week visit with her parents and then his. Then, for Skye to take advantage of her mom the way she does is ridiculous. I'm just disgusted with the story, the editing...everything. Absolutely, positively cannot recommend this book to anyone!

This was a g good story about a vacation fling that came with an unexpected surprise, a baby. Shaun was a great guy who immediatly upon finding out he was going to be a father stepped right up to the plate and wouldn't take no for an answer. Great story but wish it had been longer with a little more character development.

Skye is awful. She is so childish and selfish there were times I almost stopped reading but waited and hoped for some kind of redemption. I stopped reading after her shopping prank with her mother. DNF Shaun was great though

What a BRAT! Did you say she was a
teacher? How horrible! I'm so glad this is just a book and not real life. I feel
sorry for the He and the baby. I wish I can give less than 1 star.

This has got to be one of the best "hero's" in a book I've read in a long time. There is spanking in this book so if that is not your kink then this book might not be for you.

Skye Martin has basically been a good girl all her life. Her early experience with sex in high school wasn't that great. Since then she decided to wait for the right one. Many years later when that never happened she decided on her winter break from teaching she was going to go to on a island vacation with singles and have a fling. She found the perfect man to have it with but wasn't upfront with her real name and occupation. Almost 2 months later she finds out she is pregnant. Instead of calling the man or even calling and telling her parents she just decides to handle it on her own.

Shaun Collins has never forgotten the women he met on his vacation and he realizes that she is never going to call him. Six months later after turning over the family company to his brother to run he is going for a teaching job interview. And who should he happen to see on his tour of the school but the woman he's never forgotten standing on a desk 6 months pregnant.

This was such a feel good book (even with some bottom warming which the bratty Skye deserved alot(wink))

Skye Martin went on vacation with only one thought on her mind. She wanted to be someone else. So she used the persona of Scarlett, an actress. She was merely playing a role...or she only thought she was when she met Shaun, a businessman whom she never imagined that she'd see again.
Until she came home and discovered that she was pregnant with his child. Even though she had his phone number, fear of rejection kept her from reaching out to him and telling him the truth.
And then she meets the new teacher at her elementary school...

Shawn meets a woman on vacation and is really taken with her. He gives her his number and hopes she'll call. But Skye is afraid to call because she was pretending to be different than she really is and now there is baby and how can she call him now. She is afraid of rejection. But suddenly Shawn shows up in her school room and he intends to do the right thing. Probably is he had to make sure Skye knows it is her he wants not the baby and Scarlett that she pretended to be.

I'm not sure which one I dislike the most Skye acts like a child and Shaun acts like her dad. Book could had been better if they were written better. I could not finish this one I mean it was bad all the way around. I got to 45% and the skip to the end. And the in hell was up with the spankings??? Nothing about that was sexy if anything it was weird as hell. I mean he was treating her like she was a child.

I loved this awesome story. The characters were well developed including the secondary characters. Sage starts out as an immature girl who has to grow up fast after losing both parents and her young brother and sister need a responsible person to care for them. Neighbor Cliff steps in and so begins the relationship. Lovely romance, hot sex, spanking, great dialogue and a beautiful happy ever after ending.

Because this was so short I stuck with it to the end out of curiosity but I was unimpressed. I found myself talking to my kindle, asking Skye was she wasn't giving Sean a knee in the balls after he'd finished 'spanking' (i.e. physically abusing) her. Sean was just a bully, I totally disliked him. Not a good book at all.

This book rates hardly at 1 star. Give me a break...a 25 yr old whining and getting spanked like a 2 yr old for misbehavior! It had potential to be a good story but needs to be rewritten. Thanks goodness it is SHORT!

This was just okay for me. I found Skky pretty annoying, and I am not one for adult spanking as punishment...just not my cup of tea! I also thought it was a little pricey for the length.

A really sweet romantic love story, where love conquered all. Although not that keen on all the spanking! :)

A sweet quick read. I enjoyed it and was glad to read a romance book that kept me interested but did not cause my heart to hurt at all!
