Before Marcia Turner was with the IPB, she had a whole life. A new husband, friends… and a good job that she loved. With the CIA. Then she popped Infected and lost it all in an instant, gaining new super-powers and an unrelenting sense of suspicion in the process.

Now it’s twenty years later and an old friend from the past tells her that they need her help. Members of her old crew might be disappearing under strange circumstances. That means one only one thing. Marcia needs to see what she can do to help her friends out, because things are a lot more dire than they seem and the only people she can trust are the ones that she brings with her to sunny Miami. One misstep and it could start a war, because some old friends have thrown in with some new enemies making for a very deadly combination that the world might never recover from.

P.S. Power works in fiction, mainly focusing on Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror genres, with brief forays into other things just to keep life interesting. He averages 1 to 2 books monthly and has several series going. He lives in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, as a recluse, yet still manages to find time to talk to people online, in a positive and delightful manner. Not one of those creepy hermit types though, you understand. It's more of an isolated farm style thing. Or ranch really. He's also interested in three dimensional photography, and long moonlit walks on the beach, sometimes with vampires. When he can find time he also does writing and voice work for scripted online programs. Anyway, feel free to drop him a line.

Hello Everyone!

In chatting with Dale over the past few weeks, it was decided that he was interested in blogging to you, his readers. The blog he had within the main site was not going to be a viable solution and there were thoughts of just creating a Forum where only he could post and everyone else could reply. This MOD is a nice meeting of the two for what will hopefully be a highly successful blog!

Hoping this first (and only) post by me will kick off a nice method of interaction with Dale's readers!

p.s. - Also going to try and get the feed that comes with this to feed into Amazon and Goodreads. Good luck to one and all!!

I just love every work of Mr. Power I have come to read, and this one is not the exception, the plot is still as intricate and enjoyable as the rest, we see more maquinations at play with the understanding that what we are seeing is just the tip of the iceberg of the war that in its way. The characters keep been as enjoyable as always even more that their strong points is their weakness and the effort they put in overcoming them that makes them shine even more. The social message delivered here keeps been as outstanding as ever, it’s a strong reminder of the struggle the X-men and mutants in general suffer in the Marvel universe. Wonderful work.

I am starting to enjoy this series as a plot begins to develop. Another character has her background elaborated on and the overall storyline advances. The author has not drawn this one out like the others, especially #1 in the series. The writing is definitely improving as the series commences.

could use some editing

Love the world building, love the story and the plot, but could use a good editor. I hope the author considers getting one.

The story flushes out more, a few characters added but without to much detail. More background for the main characters and build up for the war to come. Some of the characters should have had some more background. I saw Ink there but could not get a feel for him as part of the story, especially if Ink was involved with Kerry. Would have been Five stars but it needed some serious editing for grammar and spelling. Still want the fourth book though!

It's a good idea not to simply tell in the title about who this book's POV is about. Even once I realise it's a character I don't really like that much, I keep on reading, because, well, Omnibus edition and all that.

Well, I'm not fond of Marcia. I wasn't fond of Denis either, in the beginning. He became my favourite POV fast though. With Marcia, I started to understand her more, and to a degree like her a bit more. I'm still not a fan of her though. Too cold, too hard for my taste. But her being the POV made sense for the story.

The plot itself was well structured and thought out, but again, not enough foreshadowing to keep you guessing which was a pity in this case, because it would have made it a lot more interesting since this book has an element of mystery in it. I really liked to see how she worked with her first mode, instead of just following it blindly like Brian (who I don't really like to read about that much because of the fact that he's ruled by his mode, which I only realised by reading about Marcia and her "useful" at parts mode) On this note, I need to compliment the author. I'm always happy to see when authors can manage to pull off different POVs that actually are different, and P.S. Power always manages to pull it off really well, especially if you consider the subtle involvement of modes.

On a slightly more negative note, I noticed the increase of typos in this one. They didn't disrupt my reading flow, just thought I'd mention them.

Well, recommended if you liked the previous books of the series. Even if you don't like Marcia, it's well worth the read!
