Rate this book
[Siren Everlasting Classic Erotic Alternative Futuristic Paranormal Romance, M/M, consensual BDSM, figging, sex toys, HEA] When the war between humans and paranormals escalates into biological warfare, humans suddenly find themselves topping the endangered species list. Forced underground by the New Order, Warren Colfax has to believe that sleeping in the foul sewers is preferable to becoming a paranormal’s plaything. When a raid for supplies lands him right in the hands of the enemy, the last thing he expected was for the “monster” to step in as his protector. Lieutenant Drakon Rhinegold isn’t impressed with fate’s choice of pairing him with a human, but when circumstances out of his control arise, he finds himself responsible for Warren whether he likes it or not. In a new world where nothing is ever as black and white as it seems, the pair will have to overcome their preconceived notions, look past the surface, and learn to trust all over again if they have any hope of surviving Armageddon. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Gabrielle Evans grew up in a small town in southern Oklahoma. We’re talking one red light that may or may not work depending on the day of the week. She married her high school sweetheart and the rest is pretty much history. They have two very active boys and one high-strung wiener dog that keeps her constantly on the go. For now, Gabrielle parks her car in north-central Texas, but who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I liked this look at a potential post-apocalyptic scenario where paranormals have taken over the world after deciding that humans are too stupid to be left to it. Not that these guys are much better, but they are definitely more powerful. Humans end up as slaves, the ones who didn't succumb to the virus that caused the mess, that is.

Warren is one of those humans, and he has survived by being crafty and not trusting anyone. All he wants is some food, shelter for the night and not to become a slave. He also has a driving need to find his younger brother, but that is a very tough goal. Despite all this he has an irrepressible sense of humor that made me laugh several times. He is in for a major surprise when he is captured, finds he has a lot to learn about his new "master" as well as everything he took for truth. And as for falling in love? Not what he had planned.

Drakon is quite the character. He is a tough paranormal with interesting shifting capabilities and is just as convinced he knows what is black and what is white as Warren is. Except, he is on the exact opposite side. As he gets to know Warren, he is shocked to find that the human is his mate, but knows he has no choice but to accept that fact. The story gets wilder from there.

If you like wild adventures that are as interesting as they are imaginative, if paranormals taking over is a scenario that scares as much as fascinates you, and if you enjoy some very hot between-the-sheets action mixed in with your story, then you will probably like this book.

I like the concept that paranormals has taken over the government and mankind is in the verge of extinction. Its theme however focused mainly on the forbidden love - being mated between a human and paranormals. If you are expecting touchy apocalyptic scene with characters struggling for survival , you will be disappointed. After the first few chapters, everything will be shifting towards the lovers not being discovered as a mated pair. Erotica is prominent in most chapters. My only problem is that sometimes the flow of the story is not so smooth. Sometimes it jumps a day or so between chapters. Furtheremore, I am not really a fan of an instant love kind of a story mixed with my apocalyptic story as I like character or relationship evolving and surviving hardships. Note though that the writing is not bad so the reading experience all in all was not unpleasant.

Well, Ms. Evans has done it again. This is an interesting new series. The premise is unique in that most paranormals aren't very friendly here. In a lot of other books with paranormals and humans, you usually have the two living together peacefully or the paras are afraid of being discovered. It's interesting to see a world where that's not the case and where a loving relationship between mates is special, not the norm. For me, Ms. Evans has come to mean more unusual or different types of stories and series, and she's delivered another such series here. I enjoyed this book a lot and can't wait to read more in this series!

umm what's going on here? What the Heck happened? I definitely like this author's other series much better! It was just confusing! The mating wasn't even all that convincing between Warren and Drakon until the very end. They didn't even tell us exactly what kind of paranormal D was.
In the end the setting changes for the book so that might mean the next book will be better but I'm not quite convinced.

This is probably my favorite Gabrielle Evans book I've read so far. I liked the world building in the novel, an interesting concept and the characters had depth. I will be looking forward to Kennedy and the Prince's story!

I enjoyed this one. The ending seemed a bit abrupt for me though.
