This sentimental little book, A Token of Friendship, by Barbara Milo Ohrbach, has been a cherished keepsake of mine since my college days. Every page feels like a gentle hug from the past. The text is thoughtfully curated and beautifully complemented by delicate antique illustrations — scattered like a shower of flowers and all things delightful.
I’ve always loved Barbara’s graceful collection of quotations, each one chosen with such tenderness and meaning. The sweet recipes she includes add an even more personal touch — simple pleasures meant to be enjoyed alone with a cup of tea, or lovingly shared with dear friends and family.
More than just a book, A Token of Friendship is a reminder of how small gestures — a handwritten note, a homemade treat, or a kind word — can nurture the bonds that hold us together. It’s one of those timeless little treasures that never lose their charm, no matter how many years pass. 🌷
I found this book in a thrift shop and was drawn to the cover and antique art work. It's a very thin book filled with thoughts and sayings on friendship. Some are quite old fashioned but still interesting. The crafts and recipes are also interesting. They are things you can make to share with other people and are very simple to do. This book is a charming keepsake to pick up when you need to remind yourself of the importance of friendship.
A beautiful little book with gorgeous illustrations and wonderfully curated poems, quotes, gift ideas, and sentiments. The book is a gift in and of itself.
