After Yanagi and Kujou’s story ended… the manga got picked up for serialization. Now they’re back at it in university, as one highly emotional boy tries to land one truly oblivious girl. And a rival enters and leaves the scene as quickly as possible.

The continuing adventures of these two… continue. And while it might not be the three chapter perfection of the first volume, it’s hard to not enjoy seeing the endlessly emotional Yanagi get constantly rebuffed by the aloof and unreachable Kujou.

It’s basically a story of two very immature people. Kujou has literally not matured - she’s so focused that she has yet to actually come into her emotions fully and she doesn’t get that she might be feeling something for somebody. Yanagi is immature because he’s a preening goof of a young man.

And that’s fun - it’s less the usual miscommunications and more of one person who can’t take a very obvious hint. Kujou often feels like one of those people whose signals have to travel a very long way, often with breaks, before they make it into their brain. Not in terms of intelligence, but her recognizance is… not the best.

Being so distant might make Kujou boring in lesser hands, but she balances Yanagi’s histrionics quite nicely. They are a genuinely good pair. And she doesn’t take crap - when the boys go too far she is willing to put them in their place dead fast.

And, yes, I said boys because we get the rather annoying Souma added this volume, who has worked very hard to be the kind of girl magnet that Yanagi seems to come by naturally. In his dislike of Yanagi he decides to make a very pushy play for Kujou that causes problems for Yanagi and Kujou, but the real victim might be Souma’s arm if Kujou has her way.

It’s one of the quickest and most enjoyable resolutions to a jerk rival storyline I’ve seen and shuffles Souma into the background as somebody who enjoys making Yanagi suffer, which is a much better role for him since he’s really bad at it.

This all plays out against the backdrop of the Astronomy Club, which somehow allows the university crew to end up in a maid cafe and if Kujou gets a glow-up, it’s only so Yanagi can say the right thing but in the worst way possible. He is very much the coyote to her roadrunner.

There’s also the burgeoning friendship between Kujou and Fujimoto, which is really sweet and shows Kujou opening up just a bit more. She’s really just such a late bloomer, but she also finds people very complicated, which I can relate to. There’s so much to enjoy here and while I think it might not quite hit the perfection of the first volume, it’s a treat to see this keep going.

Which is more than I can say for the one-shot included this time. I mean, one-shots, you can’t win ‘em all. This one involves a guy who hides his feelings behind a thick wall of mistreatment, which would be one thing, except the object of his affections is his younger sister, so it’s two things.

It’s a bittersweet story of parting that would work a lot better if it wasn’t ye olde incest. I just don’t have the time for it and even if nothing happens, it’s not the forbidden love I need in my life and felt like a real waste of pages, especially with how much of an arse the lead is.

4 stars - I might even have given this 4.5 and rounded up because of how enjoyable it is to be in the company of this cast again, but that one-shot contributes next to nothing and I just wish there was more of the main story in its place.

This gets one star for having absolutely no redeeming qualities. I wouldn't say its the worse thing that I've ever read, but I can't in good conscience give this more than one star when I didn't like a single thing about it.

The mcs are still annoying and frustrating and the new guy added to the crew is even more obnoxious than those two and only acts as the douchebag the male mc had to briefly "compete" with. The art is fine but unengaging and the "doki doki" moments didn't hit whatsoever. On top of all of that, it feels like the mangaka read a book titled "How to Incorporate Every Shojo Manga Trope into One Manga" because the amount of cliches and tropes littered in this and the previous volume should be criminal.

So yeah, I'm dropping this series. I'm sure others will enjoy this, but its definitely not for me.

It’s kinda painful watching Yanagi strike out so much BUT he could just TELL HER HOW HE FEELS!!! Lol

3.5/5. La historia sigue igual de divertida y los personajes son adorables, en este tomo me ha faltado un poquito de magia pero sigue siendo una historia de amor que promete mucho.

"Studying provides answers. You get results for the effort you put in. People don't work like that. they're complicated."

This series continues to be so so so much fun and deeply thankful I picked it up because I had such a blast reading this volume just as much as the first!

I think it's funny that the introduction of a certain character seems to be hinting that he'll be "the other guy" in a love triangle. And I say that because I think maybe I'm supposed to dislike him but I find him so funny! While I am definitely not cheering for him to win Kujou's heart, he does make a very fun foil to Yanagi, and am looking forward to there being more of him in the upcoming volume! Though I will say that when it came to this volume alone, it was great, and enjoyed seeing him on page (especially when it related to the "info dump" scene LOL).

Probably the MOST rewarding part about the volume is Kujou starting to question her feelings and why she feels certain things, mainly when it volumes Yanagi! EEEEEPPPP! Plus there were some very swoon-worthy moments between them that I absolutely LOVED! I hope she continues to explore her feelings and WHY she is feeling a certain way because I am alllll here for it!

And good ol' Yanagi! He is absolutely hilarious and LOVED his expressions! They change so much! LOL! I feel bad for him though because talk about the ultimate friend zone he has been pushed in! LOL! I hope he continues to stand strong though! I'm excited to see what he will do next to help Kujou realize she DOES have feelings for him!

Overall, another excellent volume! It continues to be a wonderfully fun story that leaves me always feeling happier after I read it!

The development is so incredibly slow, but there are redeeming moments and it has an overall warm tone that is heartening.

I feel like so much happened in this volume 0-0. The series continues to remain both enjoyable yet infuriating. Like Yanagi, I also feel extremely frustrated that little to NO progress is being made in their relationship! Like they are really are extremely cute together. I also like how the author has somehow made Yanagi's cock personality humorous instead of annoying. But at the same time, I also feel like it's realistic?
The added one-shot of the forgotten snow was...well something. I mean COME ON MAN AGAIN!?!?! You could have at least warned me before you threw the brick in my face! Its genuinely kinda depressing but the sibling relationship was portrayed so well. Even though I genuinely love all the one-shots that have been included so far, I don't think my heart can handle anymore of its endings.

AHHHHHHHH!!!!asasdfghjkl;asdfghjklasdfghjkl;asdghjklasdfgjkl;asdfhjkasdfhjklasdfgjkl;

This is adorable XD and irritating at the same time. These two known each other over ten years, but not once have a decent conversation of just about anything. The main guy is so deeply in love with our main girl, but again no communication. Plus, note the fact their dense as a rock burned underground.

Yanagi-kun has been chasing Kajou-chan for ten years. If people are complaining down in the comment section about the slow development. The fact that this feelings has been there over ten years of course it will take awhile.

now....Ill just sit back and see how much of our precious characters develop in the next volume

It is a very heart warming manga. The story is about Yanagi who is always first in everything plus he is a Rick and handsome brat. But suddenly a girl named Kujou is transferred to his primary school and turns out she is first in everything. So to defeat her and come first he start persuing her and they have a last game.

So, she’s finally starting to realize her feelings, and he’s clearly getting more desperate—and honestly, that’s where it starts getting a little more interesting. The emotional shift is there, but I have to say, the energy doesn’t quite hit the same high as the first part. Still, I’m curious enough to keep going. It’s not as thrilling, but it hasn’t lost me yet. Let’s see where it leads.

Really cute series that I read as it was being released on scan sites when I was really young. It has some of my favorite tropes, like academic rivals to lovers, and he falls first and harder. It's really cute and lighthearted.
