Sera Tsang is chubby, Chinese-American, and likes to think of herself as sarcastically lovable; her mom says so, anyway, and her best friend Margot certainly agrees.

Constantine, known as Tino, is a male stripper searching for his one true love and lugging along a few issues of his own... Not the least of which is his--ahem--size. You know... Down there.

When the two are trapped in an dark elevator on Sera's thirtieth birthday, will true love triumph? Or will their opposing obsessions with girth--Sera's with her dress size, Tino's with his manhood--get in the way?

THICKER: A Contemporary Romance is a novella that explores the intersections of endless tensions: interracial love, the meaning of loyalty, and how to accommodate your lover's sexy specs, no matter what they might be.

This story contains explicit sexual scenes, language, and situations meant for adults.

LATEST TITLE: James Bond for Breakfast

A mash-up, a remix, a tribute inspired by Ian Fleming's iconic character, James Bond, and the world of Jane Austen's Persuasion... Jorja Tabu gives you a modern AMBW romance like no other.

Ana Ellis is an FBI agent, but she's not the flashy kind--no fieldwork, no thank you. She leaves that to her loyal team of misfits, especially her good friend Maanya. As far as Ana is concerned, her brave days are behind her... Until a ghost from her past shows up at the Bureau: MI6's Winston Park-Wu, her high-school boyfriend, the once and always owner of her heart. Ana finds herself swept up in a bit of international intrigue, forced to make big discoveries about who she was, and big decisions about who she is willing to become. Betrayals and beloveds clash in the second installment of Jorja Tabu's Brits and Brats series.

Note for purists: This book is not a re-telling! It uses characters and circumstances from classics to tell a new tale. This book contains steamy HEAs like all JT books and assumes the reader is an adult; some grown folks themes do appear in this story, including PTSD and recovering from family trauma.

Asian women are pretty rare in erotica. Thick Asian women even more so. Thick Asian women who are not the "docile and submissive" stereotype are even harder to find. Normally I wince whenever a thick sister in a romance or erotica book comes off as a sad woe-is-me type, but the heroine of THICKER: A Contemporary Romance, Sera Tseng, has an outspoken brashness that keeps her from turning into a walking pity party.

For a short work, this sexy tale of love/lust packs an emotional wallop. It's Sera's thirtieth birthday and instead of celebrating, she's on her way to make chicken soup for her perky (and skinny) BFF Margot. Sera and her mysterious hottie named Constantine (aka Tino) are trapped in an elevator and in the dark. Neither can see the other and only Sera has admitted preconceived notions about Tino because he sounds sexy. Even though she masks her discomfort with sarcasm flirtation, Sera finds she wants something more from the mysterious man trapped in the elevator with her.

I normally shy away from race being used as a device in an interracial romance/or erotica (unless we're talking about a historical setting), but I really enjoyed Sera's openness about being an Asian woman in a society that exoticizes Asian females and how she doesn't fit the mold because of her size and personality. There's actually a clash of sorts as Tino challenges her on her own preconceived notions about his Caucasian-ness (he's half-Greek).

Still, hot passion between these two wounded souls can't be denied and let me state for the record that Tino is yet another master of dirty hot talk. The sex between these two is off the chain but there's a feeling that Sera is still very much her own agent. Of course once the power comes back on and Sera sees the face and body of the guy she just had wild monkey sex with, her insecurities come back in a rush. Will Sera let Tino go or will she take a chance? Moreover, will Tino, who loves her curves and her personality, let her go?

This was sexy, short and with fully-realized characters. I would love to revisit Sera and Tino in future stories.

This is a quick read and deals with a very real subject matter. What was a bit troubling for me was the elevator scene. It seemed unrealistic but believable at the same time. Tino is definitely a man that any woman would fall for and the simple fact that he was a studmuffin and willing to look passed her imperfection made me keep turning the pages. I highly recommend this book for any thick chick that wants a moment to look at the reality of their insecurities.

This stories gives me hope that not everyone is shallow. Thanks for telling your tale.

A very cute and exciting read that touches upon the important topic of the struggles plus size women go through on the dating scene. Sera is not only plus size, but Asian which opens up a whole other form of intersectionality and the likelihood of discrimination. Having a less than spectacular, but worst birthday of her life. Sera is on her way to deliver soup to her sick best friend, when she gets stuck in an elevator with a very sexy passenger( whose night job is as a striper). She and Tino get stuck in the dark elevator with nothing to do but get to know each other, which leads to some very sexy fun. Until the lights come on and painful insecurities arise again. I loved it and only wish there was more to read!
