This is one of those books that grabbed me at the very beginning, and never let go. It has a strong plot, with sympathetic characters and enough action to keep things moving along.

A combination of "monster" fantasy and superhero fiction, the protagonists struggle with trying to keep their humanity, as well as using their monster-powers to make the world a better place.

I would have been happy with another 300 pages...here's hoping for a few sequels! Strongly recommended for anyone who enjoys werewolf / vampire fiction.

I don't normally choose to read or listen to books about vampires because they just creep me out but this is such a great series that I didn't want to miss the next instalment. So glad I gave it ago because I really enjoyed it and didn't need to hide behind the sofa once and actually I stayed up past my bedtime listening. This is another very different book compared to the rest of the books, as non of the usual hero's make an appearance but to be honest they weren't really missed. White Fang and her team were just as humours, high tec, capable and caring. I liked the fact that at the start of the book the two main characters were investigating the same problem from very different angles and sides and the whole adventure kept me hooked. We all know the myths about the full moon changing werewolves and sunlight harmful for vampires and I thought the author got around those problems nicely. Its also set up nicely for another visit and I for one will be along for another night out with them.
Jackie Langdon is a famous author and there way write about what you know and that is exactly what she does when she writes the silverback novels because at night she roams the city she calls home protecting the citizen as White Fang. but White Fang isn't a super hero or a costume, she is a WEREWOLF. On one of her nightly patrols she stumbles on a young man being attacked by zombies. When he turns out to be alive but injured she takes him home and begins an investigation into how there could be zombies in the world. At the same time Charlotte Pastor is a Vampire assassin and her life has become all about wiping out Werewolves. Her latest assignment is to track and take down White Fang. It doesn't take her long to tracker her down but when she does she learns something that has all ways seemed impossible in the past. Can the two enemies come together and take down an even bigger threat to both them and the rest of civilisation?
I liked the narrator, she used her voice well to bring life into the undead and unnatural.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review..

Note: I did a beta read of this book.

With this book, the Just Cause Universe is now 17 books long and that can feel daunting. Fortunately, several of the books work as standalone novels, and Rooftops is one of them. Though there are occasional references to the larger JCU, this adventure follows werewolf vigilante Jackie Langdon and vampire assassin Charlotte Pastor.

Jackie is a werewolf without a pack. Despite her lone wolf status, she’s gathered people around her who support her in both her job as a best-selling novelist and her nocturnal vigilante escapades.

Charlotte is a vampire who hunts werewolves. She’s a member of The Collective, an ancient organization protecting vampires. She’s recently broken up with her girlfriend and itches to get back in the field.

Between our heroes, the themes of solitude, found family, and retaining humanity run strong through the story. Rooftops is a fun supernatural thriller with a strong plot, themes, and characters. Vampires, werewolves, zombies, and a demonic plot make for fun reading.

I randomly picked this book among the many books (by Ian) offered on Kobo for reason I cannot explain, and I'm glad I did. It was a truly enjoyable book and I found myself turning page after page just because I had to know what happened next.

What I find particularly interesting about the book is how the author subtly adds in humour at all the right places.
