An omega’s guide to getting snowed in during a heat, with a pack that isn’t even mine.
As winter’s icy grip tightens its hold, my heat threatens to steal all reason, leaving me vulnerable to the whims of fate. Trapped on a secluded estate with a charismatic alpha who ignites desires I dare not acknowledge, I’m left with no choice but to surrender to the inevitable.
I never envisioned I’d be a slave to my hormones, craving the heat of another’s touch. I longed to explore the world, freed from the restrictive laws that once bound omegas, yet a captivating stranger and his pack kindle my heat, and we spend a week together full of fiery passion. They pursue me in ways that awaken my desires and unravel the frosty barriers around my heart. When all is said and done, they refuse to release their claim, beckoning me into a world I never sought.
As the snow piles high, I question my instincts and choices. Is it the heat or something more profound that draws me to them? With each step I take, I feel their presence grow nearer, their warmth promising refuge in the coldest of storms. Danger lurks in the shadows of this snowbound paradise. An unknown threat with sinister intent roams the wilderness, and with their sights set on none other than me, I must confront the chilling reality that my newfound desires may lead me straight into this merciless predator’s path.
I am swept into a winter of passions, where destiny weaves a tale of desire and connection that blurs the line between choice and inevitability. I yearn for the embrace of pack Armana, who chase after me. Can I allow myself to accept their love while also evading an unknown threat hell bent on sabotaging my first heat?Seraphina is a snowed-in omegaverse, and it's the fourth book in the Castle Omega Series. With a lighter tone than the other books in this series, it is a standalone novel, and you do not need to read the previous books to understand this one.
Elle Lincoln is a paranormal romance author known for obsessive heroes, sharp-tongued heroines, and slow-burning tension that keeps readers up past midnight. With over 40 novels published since 2019, she writes dark, emotionally charged romance layered with found family, dangerous devotion, and magic that lingers long after the final page.
She lives in Pennsylvania with her children and an ever-growing collection of pets. When she’s not writing, she follows her intuition—trusting the stories that arrive in the quiet hours.
This book had potential but just seems unfinished. The character dialogue was at times stilted and unnatural and the plot choppy and disjointed.
There were no smooth transitions between important plot points and some character interactions had me scratching my head. The relationship between the MCs needed more time to cook and the individual character development was shallow at best.
The plot holes, whether intentionally left in by the author or not, did not help at all with feeling like this was a book ready for publishing.
this book was really good and fun for the first 300 pages. the last 150ish really really ruined it for me.
i initially really loved watching seraphina fall in love with her pack despite her initial reservations. and then the heat scene hits and everything goes off the rails.
i hate basically every choice she makes after that. she goes downstairs after realizing that something might be wrong despite the fact that she’s extremely weak, sore, exhausted, and still in heat, making herself a massive liability for herself and the guys.
she gets all pissed off that her mates are (???) helping an innocent woman who was stabbed??? and what makes it even worse is that the entire time she’s thinking to herself “i know this is irrational, but i can’t help it,” or “i know one of my partners is a DOCTOR and is therefore in a position to help this woman, but i don’t want him to,” or “i know logically that saving a victim of a stabbing is more important right now, but i don’t care, i can’t stop.”
it’s unbelievably frustrating when authors seem to think that making their characters self-aware of their bad actions somehow excuses them from it. it doesn’t. it just makes me angry that you wanted your character to seem dumb and selfish and to behave that way without doing anything about it. and all of it is completely undercut 50 pages later when seraphina is thinking about thea’s actions and thinks “there is always a choice.”
okay, seraphina, that means i need you to make the choice to not be a selfish stubborn idiot and let your mates help a dying woman without locking yourself in the bathroom alone and getting yourself nearly killed.
it just really undermines the character narrative we’ve built up for her and that’s really frustrating.
and then in the end it comes out that thea was doing all of this…for no particular reason?? only because she wanted to ruin things for seraphina and lex???
and i read the author’s note that says that this was a specific authorial choice to reflect the reality of life where sometimes there’s no reason or closure for things that happen. and i respect that choice. but unfortunately, it means that the end of your book is rather unsatisfying and falls really flat. it felt like we were gearing up for a mystery and the answer to the mystery was “hmm just because.”
but the first ~60% of this book was really cozy and nice and fun and i hate that the rest of it felt so poorly outlined.
This was the first book in this series I read, and I really enjoyed it. I wasn’t lost, and Elle Lincoln does a great job of letting you know what you need for this world to make sense. It has all the things you want in an omega verse: hot alphas and lots of spice!
Sera only ever wanted to live her own life, and not the life expected of her. She wanted to see what was out there and be able to live on her own without being promised and married off to a pack on right away. The life of an Omega can be dangerous if they go into heat and don’t have a pack to protect them and help them ride it out. Luckily she finds her crush, the man she let steal her innocence, has come back into town and he has a pack with two alphas just waiting for the perfect omega. When one of those alphas is her sister’s doctor in the mental health ward, and the other is the prince, it’s exactly what an omega needs to help with her on coming heat. But with the snow storm cutting off roads and power she is now stuck with them and a killer on the loose!
There were so many elements to keep you involved in this book. Found family, self acceptance, mystery, and even some suspense. And don’t forget about the spice! Twins, mmfmm with sword crossing included.
I’m looking forward to reading the others in this series.
I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did, but love it I did!! I adored Seraphina and her men were absolutely delightful. I couldn’t put it down. The plot was addicting, with great dialogue, lots of twists, and the spice is just right to keep you entertained throughout and turning the pages. A great read and I’m looking forward for the next book!
Was a great book, got so into it. Wish there had been more to read about them. So after the next book comes out and I read it, going to start at the beginning and read them all. Thank you
This is the fourth standalone book in the Castle Omega Series. You can read it as a standalone but to get the full experience I would recommend reading in order. Seraphina longed to explore the world, freed from the restrictive laws that once bound omegas, yet a captivating stranger and his pack kindled her heat, and they spent a week together full of fiery passion. This book had so many twists happening to Seraphina and her men all while being snowed in with her heat. I couldn’t put this book down and I can't wait for the next book of this series
