Wayne D. Dundee’s fan favorite Lone McGantry is back in the saddle, taking you on another adventure chock full of action, adventure, and a healthy dose of Wild West justice! Bitter and heartbroken after the untimely death of a loved one, Lone McGantry finds himself once again aimlessly drifting across the frontier. Lone makes this gang his new target, and is joined by a black U.S. Marshal, as well as a gunslinging gambler and his mistress who have their own grievances with Eccles’ bunch. More danger is encountered before the gang is cornered against the looming butte known as Devil’s Tower, where they are obsessed with uncovering a cursed ancient treasure. Lone McGantry returns to the fort where he was raised to find a startling change. Ma has lost all her money and boarding house to a swindler. Lone is determined to recover her money. The journey leads him on the trail of an outlaw gang. He is joined by a U.S. Marshal, a gamble, and the gamble's woman. They end up at the Devil's Tower and encounter an ancient curse. Wow! Needed to know if Lone found Ma's money.
Well written and exciting storyline. How could anything go wrong when Lone is on the case? Ma's lost all her money to a fraudster and Lone sets out to get it back, then gets involved with a a gang of deadly outlaw cutthroats. There's a bit of extra terrestrial action as well to spice up the tale too and keep you in suspense right up to the end.
I certainly enjoy a Wayne D. Dundee story and Lone McGantry is one of my favorite characters. As is Dundee’s usual style, Devil’s Tower is packed with action and vividly descriptive fighting scenes. Kind of makes you feel like you are there. Read it for a good time or to wile the time away.
I found this book to be a very interesting story line. It was a good fast read that kept my attention throughout the story. It was well written to keep your attention and hard to put down. It has action and keeps you interested in the changing story line. It is a worthy addition to your library.
